Absolutely loved it. This is still very much alive and kicking with all the classic notes of Braida with some mature notes. I would never have guessed 2001. It is many years ago last time I tried this in a much youngest vintage, but this brings me right back to the Dinner in Neive first time I had the pleasure of tasting Braida. Big recommendation

Red nice color. Slightly sweet big and warm aroma of strawberry, barrel and licorice. Full-bodied, fresh, slightly fiery with hints of cedar. Good balance with clear strawberry. Long delicious!

The nose presents with ripe stone fruit and tropical fruit with dashes of honeysuckle and an ashy (in a good way) minerality.
The palate bursts with citrus zest and stone fruit, with a honey-like sweetness that hits the tip of your tongue, with an earthy, stony minerality that is quite pleasant. My only complaint is that the acidity falls a bit flat on the mid-palate and is all but missing on the finish, leaving the wine feeling a bit flabby.

Cherry, raspberry, and banana out front, alongside some deeply savory and green-herb notes. More smoke and leather on the palate, with a Dr. Pepper finish. With this madman’s mixture, I never would have guessed this was a Barbera-based blend (although Dr. Pepper is kind of my shibboleth note for Barbera). There’s a slightly disagreeable cough syrup thing going on though… and that kills it for me. You may disagree.

Le top de la dégustation. Après 27 ans, l'acidité demeure : le potentiel de garde est toujours là. Beaux arômes tertiaires qui se mêlent aux fruits rouges et au chêne. La longueur est au RDV. Une fantastique bouteille : vivement les prochaines !

Definitely not my immediate preference...not bold, high acidity, fruits dominant, not very intensive or oaked oriented... but... I loved it... so... let's try more 🍷👍

Nice clear brigh relativel dark, red color👍

Medium body. High acidity. Well felt tanines. OK structure.

Mildly aromatic, red & black fruits, vaguely spices, terroir and barrels.

Palate: raspberries, strawberries, cranberry, pomegranate, plum, blackberries, then, vaguely, vanilla, chocolate, oak, leather, stone, pepper, ginger👍

Color: medium ruby to the rim, bricking, a gray undertone
Nose: burnt pie crust, which fades away with some time. Beautiful spirit-preserved amarena note, some raspberry liqueur, mahogany, bit of porcini mushrooms and duck blood, a hint of caramel
Palate: acidity still high, tannins are smooth though somewhat perceptible. Medium body here, good balance. Confirms the nose
Finish: medium

Another instance in which Braida proves that making barbera can be a very serious endeavor. This one is probably a little past its apogee, but if you give it a couple hours of air this still has that acidity that barbera is sought after for, and it adds a smooth edge which I find very endearing. It has complexity as well. Great for sipping or food really.

Medium straw colour. Sweet and floral nose has notes of candied lemon peel, pear and honeysuckle. Taste replicates the aromas of the nose. Light body, high acid. Sweet, but on the drier side of this kind of wine. VG.

Perfect with panettone for Christmas morning. Red and purple fruit with some darker herbal notes set on moscato like sweetness, refreshing acidity, and light perlage.
