Vertical tasting of Braida Bricco dell’Uccellone Barbera d’Asti. Wine #4/5. Made from single vineyard of Rocchetta Tanaro, aged for 12 months in used oak and 12 months in bottle. Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and rich aroma of black cherries, violets, blackberries, balsamic, liquorice, hints of roasted hazelnuts. Full body, powerful but also most elegant from all vintages tasted, flavours of red and black fruits, chocolate, medium+ acidity, low silky tannins.

Ruby in colour fading just slightly at its narrow rim. Features hints of evolution as dried red berries and rosehip with just the right touch of oak that adds a layer of cedar and sweet spices. Beautiful precision and balance on the palate with plum and black cherry flavours wrapped in a velvety texture and supported by refreshing acidity.

Typical Uccelone coffee flavour. Strawberry jam, coffee and a little vanilla. Very easy and good to drink.
