10/12/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 93 pointsVery similar to my last bottle. Upon opening, the fruit seemed faded and was overwhelmed by the still firm tannin. After being opened for a while, the wine really blossomed to reveal tobacco, earth, dusty cellar, dried dark fruit and herbs. Balanced with pronounced tannin and low-medium acidity. Medium long finish, this held up well over 2 days. 93+ |

10/8/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 91 pointsExcellent bottle. Loads of dark, dried fruit, dusty cellar, dried herb, tobacco and red cherry. Medium finish with a dusting of tannin. This bottle held up and evolved over 3 days, which is insane, given the $11 purchase price. I think it still has plenty of life left and I'm in agreement with Tanzer-91. |

10/1/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 93 pointsThis was almost a tease. After finishing the last of my bottles, I found one at my mother in laws house. Certainly not stored properly, this showed no worse for the wear. Loads of black cherry, red fruit, some leather and earth. Medium tannin and medium+ acidity, this bottle presented as young, but riper than I remember. Medium+ finish, this is excellent! Probably my best all time qpr. |

9/18/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 92 pointsMan, what a nice bottle. Loads of cool climate black fruit, smoked meat, black olive and mineral. The tannin is starting to integrate and the acidity is medium++. Medium body with a long finish. This was great on the pnp by itself and excellent with grilled food as well. I thought it seemed surprisingly young, but seemed to have wonderful potential. After not buying this year, I may need to re-think that decision. A solid 92+ and a great value. Edit: 24 hrs later, this may be better. Smooth, full of restrained fruit and very balanced, this is a winner! |

9/1/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 91 pointsPoured and tasted right away, I was not a fan at all. Very primary with minimal structure and complexity, I thought this was a dud and put the remaining 1/2 bottle in the cellar. After 48 hours, this was surprisingly excellent! Much more open and evolved with bramble, sassafras, red fruit and spice on both the nose and palate. Medium body and length with medium+ acidity on the finish. Very, very good, not unlike other Sandler products I've had. 91+ |

8/19/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 90 pointsInformal notes, but a beautiful nose of black tea, red cherry, oak and a hint of cola. P: Deep red cherry, black tea, bitter cola and oak. Medium body. Medium tannin and acidity. F: Medium with more of the aforementioned flavors and the distinct black tea bitterness, which I enjoyed. This is certainly young and my last glass was from a bottle that had been opened 2 days, which continued to show very young and with zero oxidation or degradation. IMO, a more elegant interpretation of the grape. |

8/19/2015 - RDHudak wrote: 94 pointsInformal notes, but this was an excellent bottle. Pristine cork. Initially, this was a bit tight, but really started showing with and hour+ decant. Loads of dark fruit, earth, fresh soil and tobacco. Medium+ body with perfect acidity and velvety tannin. Long finish. This was definitely a young bottle, but showed very, very well. No hurry here. 94-95 |

Some aged notes with a hint of oxidation (probably due to storage) this wine was drinking wonderfully. Loads of dried fruit, cherry, tobacco and spice. Still decent structure with excellent acidity and firming tannin on the finish. I think properly stored, this still has time, but is drinking perfectly now. 91+ |
