So I can see why everyone raves about the prisoner wine company, i would have to rate this bottle as FANTASTIC and TASTY. The only problem, I only ordered 1 bottle . If ordering the prisoner be sure to order 2 or 3 bottles, you will thank me later.

This is one to enjoy with friends wo like wine.

This is a great Sangiovese...like most of Vincent Arroyo's wine's this one is complex and well-balanced. Great to pair with a hearty meal, would pair great with italian or beef or pork...i enjoyed this bottle all by itself.

This bottle will definitely improve with age.

OUTSTANDNG Bottle! This is why I love Rioja...you can get a great bottle of wine at a reasonable price.

Going to have to buy this one on an annual basis.

Whether you are a fan of port or not, your tastebuds will be amazed at the complexity and the finish of this outstanding desert wine. True to the winemakers approach it's smooth and balanced, a great complement for anything from chocolate to fruit based pies, and even cheeses.

Great wine, needs to breath a bit, but as it opened up , it was competing well with more expensive bottles of CAB. Typical of Sangiovese, it is light bodied, and easy to drink. Going back to order more of this one.

A great overall drinking wine, pairs well with food, think Italian.

We did a 3 bottle tasting 04, 05 and 06, this one stood out. It is an impressive bottle, and will stand the test of time. Best to enjoy this with appetizers and great conversation with good friends.

I did not like the '05, it was slightly more acidic than the 04 and 06. I also thought the balance was off a little. If I had ordered this in a restaurant and paid a premium, I would have been upset.

That being said, it still had the great silky texture, and body, that are trademarks. Recommend letting it sit, and see if it does better in 2 years.

This one started off slow, but opened up after about 30 mintues. Very silky, and well-balanced, fruit on the back end. Short Finish, what you would expect from Silver Oak.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. Low acidity. A great wine to enjoy by the fire pit with friends...this one could use about 1 - 2 more years in the bottle.

Fantastic...a great bottle that would pair well with cheeses or appetizers. Would pair well with Pork or Lamb. This one is ready now, but will be best in about 3 years.

A great bottle of wine to enjoy by itself or with light appertizers, shrimp, cheese and crackers. This Sangiovese has a great texture and mouth feel, it has a medium to long finish. More fruit forward, well-balanced. A bit thin, but is made up for in flavor. Drink up!

Exactly what you'd expect from this bottle. Full bodied, silky texture, that paired well with the steak hamburg and scallops. A fine complement for a fine meal.

Very Strong for a port, full-bodied right in the window, if this improves it will be phenomal as the bottle drank much better than more well known port producers.
The wine looks inky colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis) and blackberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Overall this is an outstanding Cab. However, I enjoyed it a little too soon. This wine is full of compexity and subtleness, it just needs a little more time in the bottle.

Be sure to open or decant. The later glasses were far improved over the first glasses.

For me, ths bottle was a bit of a disappointment. It is a Cabernet that drinks more like a Pinot Noir, a bit thin, not much body, not much flavor, there is a bit of complexity, but it is short-lived as there is not much finish. I'm not sure if it was the bottle, as the other reviews appear consistently better, but I doubt that time would do much to improve.

This is a great old vine Zin. The tanins really start to work a few minutes after opening so be sure to let rest for at least 10 minutes, assuming you can wait that long before pouring or tasting.

Hearty like a Cab, earthy with hints of cassis and blackberry, though it is a bit thin it has bold flavor and a dark purple color.

This is the second time I've had this bottle and it was outstanding. The first time the word "Wow" just came out of my mouth, and this time the same thing...Wow! It's a phenomenal bottle. I don't usually drink Chardonnay, but this is unlike other Chardonnay's. It has body, but is delicate, it has the classic butter and vanilla along with citrus notes, but is not overbearing, it finishes smooth with some slight lingering after-taste on the tongue, but not overdone. I would say that this is to Chardonnay, what a extra virgin is to olive oil. I'm not a white wine drinker, but I could become one with Freestone.

This wine wass good, and in a few more years may become great. Not as full bodied or mature as some other notables in the area, but it has all of the characteristics of a wine that is one it's way to becoming fuller, and with age slightly more complex.

i bought this wine because it is viewed as a great value for the money. While it did taste better after it had breathed for about 30 minutes, it was a great value for the money. At first it was a little on the acidic side, but the second glass really mellowed out and offered a silky texture, well balanced wine. While not as complex as an expensive CA red, at $8.00/bottle it would easily be a party favorite, we were also drinking LaCrema Pinot, and while the Pinot was slighly more complex it was much thinnner, this was a fuller bodied, dark cabarnet for under $10. If you are looking for a crowd pleaser this would be a good one.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry. It tastes like black currant (cassis) and blackberry. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

I tried both the magnum and the 750ml. Both were decanted with an aerator. The 750 needed a little more time to open up, but once it did seemed to be just a tad bit more full, everyone seemed to like the smaller bottle better. Both were very complex, well-balanced and had an excellent finish. We were at Ruth's Chris and the Barone stood up very well against a hearty meal of steak and fish.

Well-balanced full bodied chardonnay. I don't typically like chardonnay as I usually find them too heavy. However, this bottle strikes a good balance between fruity and acidic. I would drink these between now and 2015.
The wine looks blonde colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like grapefruit, apple, verbena and apple blossom. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

This needed some time to breath, after about 30 minutes it was fine. Overall, this wine needs a little more time to develop. It definitely smoothed out after 30 minutes of being open.
