Brad's Belated Big 6-0 Birthday Celebration (Brad & Marcia's Place, St. Paul, MN): Medium gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. Mature and seasoned, baked pear and apricots, a touch of kumquat, modestly oxidative, full bodied and rich, sourdough, mulled apple, buttery with some spice. My impression is this is on the downward trajectory and probably largely representative stylistically. Still a good drink .

Brought to a friends shared with many. Small pour without written notes.
Felt this was tired and a bit oxidized. Dark in color bordering on sauternes tones. Not undrinkable but past prime. Showed some honey, hazelnuts, tropical fruits and toastiness.
I'm also questioning if this was vintage or NV. Nothing showing vintage on the bottle or cork. Vendor I purchased from had OWC showing 95 with others in it very much priced like a '95.

From magnum Fresh ,young, citrus dominated, some walnuts in the late palate. the 96 is a touch fresher and more acidic, but a great champagne to finish the first champagne club meeting. 94+

Perfect magnum-bottle served blind. The colour is a bit like hay/straw in the yellow scale, beginning to get some age. Nice mousse. Very vital champagne. Wonderful bouquet with lots of yellow fruit, citrus, brioche/toasted bread, biscuits, nuts, and a hint of smoke (like Krug). Great texture! Creamy and fat with a very nice minerality that create great balance with the acidity. I really like the crisp acidity here. Nice flavours of yellow fruit, brioche and hazelnuts.
I must admit that I am very impressed by this champagne. I will definetly look for this wine in the future and would love to try the vintages 1990, 1995 and 1996 side by side. Very well made Champagne :-)

Tasted side by 1996 Femme Seems much broader, more mature, has aromas of broiche, honey, quince, roasted hazelnuts. Big and broad on palate but with fresh accidity. Honey, bisquity, nutty, pepper. Long. Showing better then 1996 - at the moment

(3/5) Quite a bit of citrus and some very nice acidity. I enjoyed the complexity of this wine and it had a long, pleasing finish. Nicely balanced but a little too much citrus for my taste.

Also very pleasant for men, although I must confirm that the Cuvée Femme perfectly describe with the name its character. All elegance in the nose and taste and with an amazing balance this champagne is completely mature and has preserved the necessary freshness.

Extremely fresh, very fine mousse, pure and with perfect citrus, you can only say that this wine misses some complexity. The second day the wine was even better. This is elegance as only champagne can offer (till so far). Drink now or within 2-3 years. It was a perfect start at Xmas followed by the Bâtard-Monrachet 2005 from château de La Maltroye, the almost perfect Puligny Les Folatières 1989 from Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy, Branaire '52, Lynch-Bages '89 and Croft '60.

Very good. Drank with Wendi early in the morning for my 50th birthday. Has become much more elegant and balanced. But, I kind of miss the bigger lemon creme. Few years ago the lemon was a bit too intense. 2 years ago I liked the most. But, most people would like the evolution more.

nicely crisp, biscuit dominated, but not in a bad way. very nice yeast character. Hints of marzipan, lemon, pineapple. Overall tasted very young. Had with cheese plate appetizers, but begged to be served with a full meal (but not quite the marinated tritip BBQ that was coming). A beautiful with food bubbly.

This champagne gave off wonderful sweet bread scents as it was opened and poured. Pale-golden color; very fine beading; lots of marzipan, sweet, freshly-baked bread, nutty; medium-full bodied; coated and carressed the palate beautifully as the fruit jumped to the forefront with apples and loads of citrus; excellent acidic backbone; a fantastic, lingering finish (that would not relent). A beautiful champagne, made even better with a wonderful meal.

Very nice, very young and full of promise. Pale and frothy. Delicate chalky nose. Light to medium body, citric profile. Strong acidic backbone as if it wanted to be a '96. It tastes like the 100% chardonnay it is.

Amazing. The wine of the night for all. Very complex and extremely elegant at the same time. The lemon has mellowed a bit since the last time. Blew the 96 veuve, 2002 kistler Cuvee Cathleeen and 90 clos vougeot tour de by out the door!

lemon curd, creamy and vanilla with a bit of nut. Very elegant wine with A LOT of lemon. If you like lemon in your wine, then you would score this much higher. It is a well made wine, just issues with so much lemon.
