This is showing so much better than my last bottle a few years ago. Open an radiant, this is showing notes of black and blue fruit, but increasingly also red fruit, plums, some sweet spices, dark chocolate, some cedar wood, tobacco leaf, also some graphite mineral note. It‘s full-bodied, rich and opulent, but with still nice freshness of medium-high acidity and some medium+ tannin adding grip too. Pretty long finish. There is not much sublety, the alcohol is a touch recognizable, but a really nice fruit-forward and bigger styled Pomerol. It might actually get even better from here. (93+)

My last of these. Consistent with previous notes, this is delicious, with a red fruit profile, enticing raspberry liqueur, along with beautiful dryness on the finish. Showing great now really, with the acidity of the vintage bringing a beautiful lift and lightness. I was lucky to source about ten of these at like sixty something a few years ago, which was a great price.

With suggestions of black fruits compote and potent flowers, the nose is fresher than the palate. There, the rich fruit does manage to cover the tannins and tame somewhat the strong (14.5) alcohol. But even at its best, this strikes me as univocally ripe, borderline jammy, with little vivacity, and too many barrel notes. No surprise here, you'll like this iff you like the Michel Rolland style. Whatever your own inclination, this clearly needs another 5 years to reach its potential.

Delicious as always. Red fruit, some savory tones, good concentration and has the acidity of the vintage (though not as obvious as some other '10 Bordeaux). There is a nice dry, chalkiness on the finish too, which is welcome. Delicious.

The nose is moist earths, truffles, red berries, dark chocolate and coffee. The pallet is intense with visible tannins any long finish. Tastes of strawberry, leather, dark chocolate and vivid red fruit. The finish is long with hints of coffee and cranberry. Will open my next bottle in 2022

Delicious as always, elegance but also hedonistic. So rich for a '10, one might think it was an '09. Serious stuff, red jam treacle. So many intense, striking flavors, all so accessible and open. Crazy and wonderful.

Tasted next to Branaire 2000, later 2005 La Tour Carnet, and this stood out for opulence, ripeness and in your face kind of style. It‘s still kind of enjoyable though but not the style I am usually going for. Notes of plum, sweet spices, chocolate, sweet dark cherries, also some cedar wood and smoke. it‘s full-bodied, dense and powerful, with pretty high tannin that feels a touch overextracted, but also good medium-high acidity. Good length. A lot of people will love this.... I am kind of torn about it...

Tasted blind. I was guessing Chateaubeuf. This says it all. A very ripe Merlot with lots of dark fruit, licorice, oak. Bitterness on the finish. Enough acidity for the ripeness but still too rich for me. Not really Bordeauesque.

Big but not overpowering wine drinking remarkably well already for a 2010. Flavors of blackberry up front with raspberry and strawberry coming out nicely on the mid-palate. Long, complex finish with unmistakably old world minerality.

Beautiful red and black fruit structure and intensity, slightly riper than would expect from Pomerol, but delicate and not dominating, spectacular. Chocolate and black berries.
Really well balanced, medium plus tannins and acid, approaching full body with the fruit ripeness.
Awesome wine.

The texture of this wine is lovely; dry, velvety cashmere. There is some sweetness, slightly grainy, along with a slight savory tone. Plenty of red fruit, medium-bodied. This is very refined and elegant, though clearly needs a lot more time to fully unfurl. This is approachable now but should sing so much more beautifuly after another eight years or so.
Better on the 2nd day; tastes closer to the '09 now, with vivid rasberry and strawberry notes, though still slightly more austere, more savory and more backward than the '09 - not worse, but just a slightly different, tighter, dryer profile that needs more time.
Tasted at the Chateau. Didn't love it as much here as I did at the UGC tasting. Lots of dark fruit, coffee and chocolate on the nose and palate. Serious concentration. Great texture but much more tannin the expected. Medium+ finish. Needs time.

Visit to Château Le Bon Pasteur: Nose with red and dark berries, cherries, flowery and perfumed (actually some maceration semi-carbonique feeling, or "some but positive Beaujolais vibes"), well integrated oak notes, some sweet liquorice, elegant. Good concentration of fruit, dark and red berries, very well embedded medium+ tannins with a silky impression. Aftertaste with tart red berries and tannin. Fine balance and polished elegance. Young, but reasonably approachable, 92+ p.

Grande Bordeaux Tasting, 2010 (Grand Hyatt Hong Kong): Served by Didier Richer, a friend of the family. Since '08 they have vinified in barrel. They use dry ice to control the temperature. Like micro-vinification and allows integration of the oak (100% new in 2010). This seems like the same strategy Penfolds employ for their big wines. Didier prefers the '08! Big smokey wine but doesn't feel oaky - is that the barrel ferment thing? Great acidity cutting through the plum fruit. Nice tannins but slightly bitter on the finish.

Nose quite reticent despite coaxing; palate is fairly dense and concentrated – a bit tannic but not hugely so. Has powerful fruit and a bit of pepperiness. Returning to the nose, a slight perfume emerges. Has a smoothness to it that I like; full, even more dense than the 2009 Fayat.

Tasting Bordeaux 13-12-11-10 in Hong Kong (Visiting Vinexpo 2016, I finally tasted Bordeaux 2013s from bottle, plus earlier vintages): Here we have a more vividly robust nose, as compared to the 2013, darker fruit, riper and then the palate is full bodied and rich, and yet: I do get some drying aspects on the finish. Interestingly enough chateau rep Benoit Prevot says that the estate is scaling back a bit on the use of new oak, which looks promising to me!
