Dinner at Roux with Francesco. Last of my 3 bottles, and this was fantastic, like the previous bottle. Velvety smooth, with lively red fruit and nice secondaries. Paired well with both duck and lamb chops. Just great stuff. How I wish that I had bought more of these for $59 years ago...

Our bottle shared with friends at a restaurant before a ballgame. 60 minute slow-O at home. I think I liked this a little more than Kevin (RockNRoller).
Definitely had the mix of cherry and black fruits (black cherry, blackberry even some boysenberry) but still has some of that stewed tomato goodness I associate with Sangiovese plus dried herbs, leaves, and other dried spices. Fair acids up front, nice mid-palate with velvety tannins brining up the rear.
For my senses I found this to be more balanced than the 06 Fèlsina Rancia served next to it. Drinking well now and should be able to hold at this level for 3 or 4 years.

Tuscan's at The 112 (112 Eatery, Mpls, MN): Very dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour. Slow-O for an hour before serving. 85% Sangiovese/15% Malvasia Nera. Black cherry and big high toned fruit, lot dried earth and cedar box spice, high toned spices, full bodied and concentrated with what I found more firm tannins. 90+ to 91pts.

Brought to Owl House for dinner. This bottle was just awesome. Beautiful fruit, velvety texture, and still lively acidity and a bit of tannic structure to give it energy. This was nice to drink on its own before food arrived and is also very food-friendly. Great stuff, and glad I have one more of the 07s. Tremendous value at $59 for a world-class wine. No rush to drink the remaining bottle, but not sure it gets better from here either

Morphing into a very solid wine. Nose relatively mediocre, but wine is integrated, complex, smooth, probably better with food, and an intriguing finish.

I found VINNUT's description to be spot on, and I can't do better than that. First time trying this wine, and it was right up my alley. I great balance of power and elegance. The tannins still have a bit of grip, and I think this will still be good for several years. For my palate, I expect it will peak in a few years. Fantastic stuff.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color with no signs of aging. Full, forward, & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of roses, herbs, spices, minerals, tar, tobacco, cocoa & a hint of cedar. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals, cocoa & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. At 13 years of age, it has reached a good balance between youthful vibrancy & aged notes. This vintage appears to have developed sooner than past vintages. However, it should continue developing with additional aging at which time it may rate even higher (94+). A blend of 85% Sangioveto & 15% Malvasia Nera.

Self-isolation wine highlights (Wellington, NZ): A favourite Tuscan label. Brilliant Sangiovese drinking in its optimal window (also Malvasia Nera 15%). A three hour decant, which was about right. Deep ruby moving garnet. A bouquet of dark plums - some stewed - sandlewood, dry brush, cassis and cacao. The entry to the palate is very much ripe and full fruit, with savoury, meaty, earthy flavours across the mid and back palate. Tobacco, blackberries, sour cherries, old leather saddle, dark plums, beef stew, prunes and dried herbs. Strict but quite refined and relatively resolved tannins. Concentrated and well structured. Good acidity retained in a warm year. A bottle stored in refrigerated storage since release, drinking younger than 13 years of age. To drink over the next 10+ years.

Not sure I appreciate this wine. Received a recent offer and all said am not buying additional wines. If it's just the vintage, please feel free to comment and let me know. Medium bodied fairly standard fruit. I think it's in the right drinking window, but many wines are much better.

Decanted for approximately 30 minutes. Great nose of jammy red fruits. Deep violet hue. Tasty palate of dense red and black fruits. Tannins still prevalent. Needed some fat to soften. Great with food. Medium to full body. This wine has a lot of life left in it. Drink or hold.

One of eight wines in a Tuscan tasting, held a week ago. This one tended to be less popular with the group as a whole, although it did have one or two fans. It came across as more rustic than the rest of the wines and had a mild barnyard element in the nose that I didn’t love. There was also more acidity on the back end, and a little more complexity than some of the other wines displayed. Still, not one I’d track down again.

Vielleicht kommt ja noch was!? 93+P

Rich cherry flavors with a bit of earthy spice. Decanted and let rest; found very little in the way of solids. Opened up nicely and evolved from it's initial sense of being old and tired to vibrant and lively. Nice after-taste and persistence in the mouth. Wonderful wine.

Good gracious, this is immense. Very much a wine of the vintage, the aromas and flavors skew to the darker, riper side. Manages enough acidity, and remarkably, an acceptable level of freshness. I don't agree with the consensus that 2007 was a 5-star vintage; this is a good example of a 4-star wine in a 4-star vintage. Drink now or in 6-7 years; air time in decanter is your friend, so is lowering the temp a little. recommended
This is awesome- right now. Grab a red sauce and go to heaven. Loads of slightly sour, black cherries, cassis and a touch of baker's cocoa. Silk. Can't do better than this with a rich, italian meal.

Ruby to medium red in the glass fading to a clearer rim. No brick color at all. Ripe red fruit and leather nose. Nicely balanced acid, alcohol and fruit at the outset, some drying tannins and a medium to long finish. Nice wine that opened too young. Hang on to this one for maybe 3-5 more years. Wow, what a powerhouse. Very bright dark cherry flavors, a bit of spice, and the Malvasia adds floral and other aromatics. Well balanced with a medium long finish. Great acidity and at this point the tannins have faded a bit, making this wine great to drink now but it should last another ten years and develop more complexity.

Anteprima Chianti Classico (45 TN inside!!) (Firenze - Stazione Leopolda): Steel and big tonneaux for this Sangiovese 85% and Malvasia Nera 15% blend. More alcohol than fruit at nose and taste...
