DRC Tasting Group (Bellevue, WA): Tasted blind. Showing lots of age already, nutty and mature. Minerals, oak, a bit sherry-like. Elegant finish with medium-plus length.

France 2013 - Chablis (Chablis): Tasted at the Domaine. Oxidative nose with hints of caramel and honey with some charred tropical notes underlying. Minerals come through on the palate but this is showing the vintage. Not a fan.

Still drinking well: lemon blossom/oil and boiled wool on the nose, palate of tart lemon, much more spice and minerals mid-palate, no discernible heat, nice balance, all surprisingly light for a 2003 wine. I see no significant improvement over my last tasting of this wine, with the spice quality a welcome change, but less boiled wool, and fruit more tart, too. Drink up.

Sort of different than the previous bottles of this I have had. Very well-balanced, but the flavors were light, not necessarily delicate, just not pronounced. Seems to have run its course.

For whatever reason (bottle variation, who knows), this bottle was not as appealing as the previous -- which was tough to match. Stlil excellent -- nicely balanced, crisp without being tart. Seemed like it had a ilittle age on it, which was interesting considering that the previous bottle I had gave no signs of age.

What an excellent bottle. In fact, during dinner, I simply paused as I was drinking it to appreciate it on its own. Round without being fat, crisp, but not tart. Simply beautiful. Perfectly integrated. Grand Cru sums it up well. Given how well it's drinking now, I will not hazard a guess about "shelf life". Supposedly, white Burgundies can be fickle. Assuming you have a reasonable cellar, I would guess a few more years easily. I will try to delay the gratification of drinking at least one of the bottles I have left for a little while just to see if improvement is possible.

Pale yellow in the glass. Nose of lemon, with a hints of lemon blossom and hazelnut. Lemon peel, grapefruit and flinty stone on the palate, with faint notes of honey and candied orange. Not as rich as you would want, but complex and refreshing.

Golden and starting to be oxidative. Obviously from a riper year with aromas of honey, wax, peach. Rich palate, but cut slightly short.

Still good, but not as memorable as the first bottle. Balanced, pleasant acidity. Might be time to drink the last one.

Crisp steely minearly nose. High acid with good body to match. Refreshing and easy to drink. A great Chablis we thought in the traditional mode.

Nose of boiled wool; palate of tart lemon, acidity, minerals, lightish feel (surprising for the 03 vintage). Well integrated. Drinking well now.

Dark, almost amber color, good fruit but lots of oak.
