Developed nose and certainly some kerosene notes but also some orange citrus and some bitter pith elements This precursor to the Alea and has always been sweeter than any of the Alea vintages I have tried. There's Lemon barley water lime and tangerine on the palate with plenty of acidity to counter some of the sweetness without hiding it entirely.

Overall I am still, like other recent reviewers, under-whelmed. It's not a poor wine, but neither is it beguiling. Good acid brightness and some moderately interesting kero on the nose, but the palate seems weak ... fruit simple and not really up to balancing the acid.

Quite perfumed, with some secondary character having developed on the nose. On the palate, it is still fairly linear. Reminiscent of lemon barley water with a little lime and green apple. There is a pretty crisp acidity that runs through this that keeps the sweetness corralled and provides some length

GMs - Casual Fridays September 2017: Floral, lemon, lime and light herbs. Nice mix of sweetness and acidity, decent structure and length. Lacks in complexity but it has nice balance and drinkability.

I correct my earlier and rather negative impression upwards: the wine is a perfect pairing for Chinese cuisine (the real one, not the fast food type). Drank it to steamed fish with fried garlic and ginger and kai lan. The sweetness and lemony notes complement the cuisine very well.

Drinkable. Pronounced rather strong acidity, lots of lime, and sweet. Some mango and passionfruit notes, pineapple. No minerals just a cocktail of acidic fruit. Very new world but unfortunately no character.

(Brunner@Justina's) Light hay in glass, lifted with soft white flwoers, hints of lanolin age, citrus and red apple peel, rather restrained. Soft limes on taste, citrus zest, buttery lanolin, clean and restrained, steel and limestone finish, clear and quartzy. Nice development - alas my last bottle - and could easily bloom for another 10-15 years! Paired rather enjoyably with Justina's incredible Kuching laksa, accentuating the galangal and woodspice notes!

An ok wine, resembling a bit a sauvignon blanc but for the very and underwhelming winey note of Riesling. Fruity nose of pineapple, mandarin, red apple. Young and sweet-acidic juicy attack with sweet sparkling fruit cocktail. Refreshing but total lack of body and elegance. Short length with lasting acidity. Good for a casual drink in the afternoon.
Revised downwards after experience on day two: unpleasant and acidic. Worst in a long time.

I'm still under whelmed. Lime, sweetness and acid don't seem in harmony. I should have left this 2nd bottle at least 6, even 12, months longer, but I'm not optimistic.
I feel like an anarchist - I just am not enjoying my Grosset Rieslings, despite their high status.
Lemon hard candy, wet rocks, mandarin, and a whiff of petrol on the nose. In the mouth this has a vibrant acidity which more than balances the slight residual sugar. This should keep for a very long time and I suspect will eventually calm down to display a more elegant and less forceful personality.

Some lemon and granny smith apple on the nose, with a light perfume of tropical fruit hiding underneath. Slight initial sweetness with strong acid finish. It is really pleasant drinking at the moment but lacks a bit of complexity. Should change for the better with a few years of cellar time

The first of my dozen buy. Nice crisp acidity.. Less fruity/sweet than Mosel Kabinetts - also 1-2 years younger bottle age than I'm use to in Mosel Rieslings. Perhaps more sour than citrus tart? Overall, I'm less impressed than I hoped, but let's see what a year longer does when I open my second.

(At the Woy Woy Oyster Festival w Ads, Geoff, Johannes, Wendy and David) Very very pale in the glass, just the slightest hint of straw. Prominent citrus, white florals, cut grass and crisp green apples, the still-sharp acidity tempered with some residual sweetness (but only barely), showing slight oiliness. Clean, elegant intensity, transparency, and a tall, vertical structure. Some cool limestone/flint minerality on the finish, pairing obscenely well with 7 dozen Sydney Rock Oysters sourced from various growers!

A touch of sweetness. Still simple and one-dimensional at this point in time.
