Violets, tobacco leaf funk, wet leaves on the nose: a tobacco drying barn; a well mannered but interesting mouthfeel, bright cherry to begin, mellowing nto woody softness, strong tannic backbone, lingering dry finish, hints of morel mushroom. Reminds me strongly of blue ridge with its rich dampness. Fantastic with charcuterie

Bonito color, casi negro, con estrecho ribete. En nariz, intenso, con especia. En boca es de tacto sedoso. Llena la boca muy rápida y completamente. Muy redondo. Retrogusto extremadamente agradable que invita a seguir consumiéndolo. Marida perfectamente con una buena carne.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #013: Ribera del Duero (By me): Beautiful bouquet with dark forest fruits, smoke. autumn, a touch of barnyard, vanilla and some minerals. On the palate chocolate, herbs, spices, nutmeg, good acidity, firm tannin, vanilla and some bitterness. A mouth full of wine. Has improved considerably over the past two years. Still a future of several years. 91 - 92

Through Coravin, I think that this is in a sleeper phase: blue fruit on the nose + some burnt tires and herbs. Tannins are smooth, but alcohol tastes a bit disjointed

Dark color with a slightly minty berry nose. Very elegant and silky in the mouth with fruit is quite clean and there is no hint of averaging or rustic flavors. Acidity is good and the tannins are quite resolved and really lovely. Nice example of an aged modern style RdD, should be good for at least 5 more years.

Beverly Hills Cheese Shop Northern Spain Tasting: Fruitiest nose of the bunch. Acidity leans sharp. Softer structured than the Priorat the preceded it. Perceptible oak influence and a long, structured finish.

Retailer tasting (@ vdH): Full bodied and round with a lot of dark fruits and good oak. A lot of sweetness but in good balance with the acidity. Sweet spices. Pleasant and round tannin. Early maturity now and certainly pleasant until 2018+. 88 for today.

Superb. Berry fruits, spice with a hint of vanilla. This is ripe upfront fruit but with a balance and a silkiness on the finish. Has a nice freshness too and a dash of decent acidity that makes this an excellent food match. Maybe lacks some rustic edge that is common but the silky finish makes up for it. Nothing green or over-extracted here. After my note for the 2009 vintage this was a pleasure to drink so I'm going to be generous and go for the higher score here. Still think the bottle is over weight mind.

Need time to breath to remove some acid.
Nose is ok, fruit plenty.
But this is a heavy wine and needs heavy food to go along.

Very fine, has cab feeling to it, not so much oak, fresh and berry driven, I like it. drank at Bar Mut in Barcelona.

A Barcelone, au restaurant. Pas de notes formelles. Très bon Ribera del Duero, classique aves ses arômes de fruits noirs, de cuir.

This wine really suited me tonight: wooly, rustic, chunky, meaty. Not for the faint of heart, but so expressive of its place and variety.
