Dark ruby with a lighter rim. Clean floral nose with notes of honeysuckle and cedar. Palate is round, smooth and cooling with dark red fruits, pomegranate, and menthol. Finish is wel integrated and medium + in length. Excellent wine and still drinking very nicely at 11 years. Could likely go another 3 years.

Still very tasty with solid fruit and structure. OTOH, relatively one-dimensional and age does not seem to have added complexity (unlike their ever-reliable flagship Sangiacomo). I say drink up.

A really nice entry level Pinot for Sojourn with a subtle but elegant nose of cherries and raspberries with a hint of earthiness. On the palate, the cherry flavors are tart and there is a soft earthiness in the mouth. Silky tannins with a fine, nicely balanced acidic finish. Great QPR here that would works great with spicy food.

Much better than a prior bottle as it was bigger, riper and had more body and depth. Decent flavors of tart cherry and berry with a bit of bramble and herbs after some airtime. At the same time is was a bit simple, rough and acidic. Overall a decent, but unspectacular wine. Normally a very solid performer, but I did not enjoy this as much as prior vintages.

This bottle may restore my faith in Sojourn after a few disappointing bottles of the Chardonnay. This has matured beautifully. The fruit and oak are integrated. Acidity in perfect balance. Sassafras and black licorice/fennel. Medium plus weight.

Since I couldn't make to it Pinot Days in NYC thanks to the blizzard, I decided to open this. Good pairing with homemade chicken soup. On pop 'n pour, this was ready to drink. It's full bodied, rich, and elegant. Considering this is an entry level Sojourn, I was pleased. It's really good. Nose and taste of cherries and spice. I've always said that I like my Sojourn wines with some age, and was proven right again! Drank over 5 hours.

PnP - very tight when opened with very little nose and slightly sour/bitter flavors. Improves with airtime but remains a bit underripe and green with some tartness, a thin almost watery texture and an acidic finish. Diluted dried, dark cherry, spice and just a hint of brown sugar flavor on the palate, but no cola, and no depth or richness. Don't think it was flawed, just simply not very good. However, I will not score as this was clearly different from other tasters experience.

Really enjoyed this wine. Loads of berry flavors, particularly blueberry and blackberry. Some cherry as well. Did not get any Coca Cola flavors you sometimes get from an RRV. Did have a nice layer of spice. Went well with butternut risotto. If you have any of these, I would let them still sit awhile. Drinking good now, but will continue to improve with age.

In a really good place right now. Lots of cherry and smooth tannins. I think this is in its early drinking window and can stay here for a few years. Really good spot

Bright cherry, brown sugar, herbs du provence. There seemed like there was a bit of excess acidity with this bottle, which was not in evidence with previous bottles.

Shockingly good. 2010 may be my favorite sojourn vintage to date. Balanced with crisp tart fruit and great acidity. Black cherry, plum skin and blackberries. Baked fruit compote. Touch of cream. But no cola which I dislike. Nose includes some baking spice.

Needs some air to get rid of a sharp, tart attack. Nice red fruit with cherry and maybe a little cranberry. Didn't get the earthy quality I got last time.

Very enjoyable, slight chance of pace for Sojourn. Beautiful cherry and strawberry nose. Full-bodied cherries, raspberries, cranberries, cola, and root components on the palate. Really good stuff.

Magenta in color. 14.2% ABV. Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir clone 828 forms the foundation of the wine. Cherries, cola and tea on the palate. Fresh and vibrant acidity. Sassafras, bing cherries, earth, pomegranate and more cola on the palate. Lovely wine and prototypical of the Russian River Valley. Drink over the next several years while you wait for the single vineyard wines to come around.

I quickly came to the conclusion that this wine wasn't one you can pull from the crib and have overperform. I definitely expect it to get better with some bottle age but I'm not sure how much better. Still it was fairly reasonable and played well with the food so all was not lost.
Not as sophisticated as some Sojourn pinots, but very nice. Just an ok QPR for this bottling. Would probably spend the money on other pinots given the chance to do over. 89 - 91.

Red fruits dominate the nose with a bit of cola, soft and round on the palate, more red fruit, bit of acid, really well done, but kind of a one trick pony with the red cherry and cola.

Nose has warm red fruit compote with some spice. Restrained. Palate has none of the overt cola that can be offputting to me. Lush fruit with only a background hint of cole with more fall/dry leaves. Balancing acidity which seems typical of the vintage. Enters the mouth with an almost saline touch.

Cranberry, dark cherry, cola. Very dark color. Deep texture and thick mouthfeel. Red fruit. Approachable now. A little flabby in the mid palate. Very tart on the back end. The fruit is dominant. Sort of one dimensional.

what a great introduction to the lineup. color is in between the ridgetop (lightest) and the wohler (darkest). tart, dark cherries, cola, sassafras and plenty of earthy elements. highest acid of the bunch, but a softness shows through. will love food. good balance. very small trace of heat. bright and earthy red fruited finish. sure it'll go a few years, but frankly this is delicious now. liked this more than the '09.
