I had a glass with dinner, and it was outstanding, just what I needed. Cherries, strawberries, provencal herbs, with a beautiful tart palate and a fine tannic backbone. 2011 concerns be damned, this was a beautiful glass of wine.

Celebrating 2021, welcoming 2022 (Bellingham): I really liked the bottle I opened over 1 1/2 years ago, but this one disappointed. It was brambly, herbacious and green. So different than my last, I'm hoping this was a flawed bottle rather than a wine starting to show pyrazines that weren't noticeable earlier.

Aubert de Villaine outperformed the village and the vintage. None of the green notes of some 11's, this was a balanced beauty in a good place right now. Cherries, strawberries, provencal herbs. This paired well with lamb chops and later on its own. I have a few more bottles, and while I'd have no problem opening another soon, these are in no danger of declining for several years.

I have just two bottles of this vintage, and based on previous reviewer notes decided it was time to drink. I think the earlier descriptions are mostly accurate, although there are some subtleties that I do not get. However, it is a very "pretty" wine and still drinking nicely. Could go at least several more years, perhaps longer in a good cellar.

As others have said recently, this wine is probably not getting any better. Light on its feet in the aromatics department but offers decent depth and weight on the palate. Medium finish. Nice earthy tones and a mineral spine. Bright red Fruit is still strong. Went perfect with cedar plank salmon and sautéed mushrooms and onions. Very good.

I am really enjoying my last bottle of this wine. It has a nice light red color, with subtle aromatics. On the palate, it has lovely raspberry and cherry flavors, along with some green tea and nice minerality.

In my opinion, it's often not the most expensive Burgundy from the most heralded vintage that's the most enjoyable with a quiet Sunday night dinner. Like this wine ... Presently drinking it's best since release (I bought a 6 pack and have drunk most of the bottles). Translucent, light red, bricking at the rim. A nose of earth, dry brushwood, dried herbs, raspberries and red cherries, with touches of spices and funk. In the mouth, elegant and below mid weight, but, for me, with sufficient stuffing. Strawberries, red cherries, dried herbs, with a touch of umami hoisin. No overt green pyrazine here. For drinking in the next few years, I think.

This was another good showing for this wine. It has a light color and is very feminine with its aromatics and light fruits. It has soft cherry and raspberry flavors, some green tea and other herbal notes. Good minerality too. It takes about an hour after opening to reach it full potential. I agree that this vintage should be consumed in the next few years.

Light ruby with mild bricking. Moderate aromas of red fruit/ candied cherries with secondary aromas of herbs - tarragon and dill. Full palate of red fruit with medium finish and moderate tannins. Beautiful and feminine Burgundy - Drink now and prob next three years

Clear ruby red with garnet rim Nose is interesting, some dill and cherry pastilles, touch of barnyard and beeswax Moderate acid and some oak, thin fruit, sour cherry moving into pie cherries, grippy tannins Moderately long finish Campo di Montalcino sort of killed it, not the greatest cheese choice but it's what's in the fridge Will probably share this with friends on its own and agree drink up in next year or two

The wine is nicely aromatic. It is a lighter bodied wine with a light red to orange color. On the palate, it has nice cherry fruit, green tea and some raspberry flavors. It is definitely ready to drink. I would recommend that you enjoy your bottles of this vintage now.

Very pure and strong mineral notes, some thyme and delicate raspberry notes, spice Palate: mineral, very elegant, pure, not strong fruit notes but it's all about elegance and purity.

Domaine de Villaine is owned by none other than Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of that most illustrious estate, Domaine de la Romanee-Conti. The little house Villaine is located in Bouzeron, and offers fine quality for money for those looking for a good value. The 2011 is light on fruit, a notoriously difficult vintage, but it has some charm nevertheless with tart cherry notes, cranberry and rose hips on the palate. The acidity is quite high, and the wine begs for food. A nice cheese plate? Yes, please.

medium cherry red, lots of clarity, silvery hue Nose: raspberries, tarragon, cola, clove, earth, white pepper, black pepper, thyme, acidity, touch oak Pal: raspberries, clove, black pepper, touch tar, cola, tarragon, thyme, acidic Feel: medium, savory Finish: medium T8 (could be a 9)

Notably light appearance both in the bottle and the glass. On the palate it was a touch thin, but with marvelous sweet intensity of flavor, laser delivery of the balancing acidity to the light but pleasing fruit. I wish this was the 2009 or 2010, but still happy with it!

Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): Dull maroon with pale rim, see through; acorn, wet earth, tart cherry, sweeter, good fruit; intensely mineral driven, softer fruit and acid, sour cherry, limestone and darker earth- clay?, soft and supple; tasty.

Seems like I'm higher on this wine than other folks. Nice cherry, great acidity, good earth on the nose. A seamless wine, pure and delicious. I'm on the lookout for more.

Very nice nose with lovely pinot-fruits, blue flowers, the most discrete oak, fine earthy, chalky notes. Medium body, okay intensity of flavors, medium weight on the midpalate, slighly longer finish than medium. Pure, refined and balanced with good grip. Still doesn't show the depth of the 09 and 10 vintages, but certainly more impressive this time than my previous bottle (or I just had a better day) .

Doesn't show much right now. Some tart berry fruit with toasty-earthy aromas. In the mouth it's clean, but feels thin, with not too much savour. Anyway it"s well balanced with good acidic and tannnic grip. Medium finish. Previous vintages are way much better.

Light raspberry color, not giving up too many aromatics, maybe some celery seed and elevage. Fruit is red and light, slightly thin on the palate. Tannin are in full effect, not quite mouth puckering but definitely dominating the finish.
I was a little concerned as the cork showed a bit of leakage on one side. This is an OK value that is not really ready to go but not closed either. This isn't as gulp-able as the Faively '10 Mercury I had last month, which I found a bit too robust with fruit, but this one is better than that one with food. I followed this for a couple of days, and though it was certainly better on day two, it was only slightly so. 13%
