Pears, green apples, and a bit of grapefruit still evident. While this is well past its prime, the fruit, acidity, and minerality are all nicely balanced.

An intense minerality has emerged in the past year. Add herbs, tropical fruit and citrus notes. Medium acidity & a medium length finish make this a delious wine. I have one bottle left and plan to hold it another year to see where it goes.

Dinner with M/M vinole (HB Bistro, Chicago): Pale color with notes of citrus, mineral and florals. Grapefruit and other citrus notes on the palate with the good level of acid one expects from this variety. What a nice surprise this was. 90+ pts, and worth seeking out.

This wine was a great match with scallop and mushroom risotto. The citrus notes in the wine and the acid cut throughout the rich texture of the risotto. The really seemed to sing in this pairing. If you haven't tried this with seared or grilled seafood, you are missing out on a real nice treat.

Delicious as always, I had this (my last bottle) with scallops over blood oranges. An incredible electric acidity balanced by honey flavors at the end of the sip. Hope the 2013 batch gets here soon!

A fun wine. Bright and good clarity. Color is to the the brown tinged end of golden. Wine had some depth but fruit is the reason to drink it. Think it will be best young. Interesting to try, felt price was a bit high for the wine inside.

A lovely white, pairing great with seafood. We enjoyed it with home made sushi, abalone, etc...fantastic pairing. Nice notes of peach, with hints of stony minerality. This is NOT your Spanish Albarino (which is superior); however, Morgan deserves credit for delivering on a California albarino.

Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, peach. lemon, minerals, and earth. Palate: Medium bodied, creamy mouth-feel, zesty peach and caramel attack, nice acidic back-bone, flavors hold up well thru the mid-palate, just a little harshness in the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus sense of slightly tart citrus fruit.

Wonderfully aromatic nose. Flowery, citrus, clean, refreshing. Palate is white fruits, citrus fruits. Great acidity particularly noticable at the end of the finish.

Ridiculously explosive nose of tropical fruit, bananas, minerality, herbs in the background....great zip/acidity...in the end, this is more like Spanish Albariño on the palate than the nose. Delicious.

I love reading Cliff's notes (cbbrown3 below); I had typed up mine for this bottle before reading his, but as soon as I logged in here realized my descriptors were almost identical. Since his prose is more elegant I'll simply defer to his. This is a very enjoyable wine perfect for a warm summer day.

The wine is a bright and vibrant yellow to light gold color. The crisp and refreshing nose has apples, lime, lemon zest, orange blossoms, minerals, melon, and a very slight herbal note. This has light to medium body, crisp acidity, and just a touch of residual sweetness. The orchard fruit and citrus play off each other very nicely on the palate with a streak of minerals coming in on the back end. The finish is fairly long with a mouthwatering lime note and minerals slowly fading away leaving you to grab the glass for another sip. This will really shine on a warm Summer evening over a light meal.

Amazing. Started spritzy for the first few minutes, with a hollow mid palate. However, 20 minutes later this was a different, and incredible wine! Citrus, floral, orange peel, the things you'd expect. Perfect balance of sweetness/acidity. Great with food and great afterwards on its own. Drink now!

I don't think I've had a Napa albariño before. But, as a fan of Bedrock, I was intrigued, and after drinking a bottle on a hot DC evening, I'm glad I tried it. Aromas of green apple, sweet peach, papaya and a hint of seashell. The palate is packed with zesty acid, but, as other commenters have noted, this wine isn't thin. The rich apple, pear and tangerine flavors are lush and creamy, but that acid keeps everything else in check. Long finish with a hint of herb. This is a solid summer wine, and is great with salad.

Pungent minerals and light flowers on the nose are my favorite element of this wine. The palate strikes me as a cross between a fresh Muscadet and grassy Sauvignon Blanc that resolves to a simple/thick lime note at the end. Modest finish, but I kept going back for more. A versatile wine and a decent value. 89-90. I agree that this showed best in a narrow temperature range.

Interesting, when I twisted the cap off, the nose of a sparkling wine immediately came to mind. Couldn't agree more with SJR's tasting note across the board. Nothing left to add really. Wish I ordered more Kick Ranch SB and less of the Albarino.

Eye: Palest gold with a greenish tint; slightly effervescent.
Nose: Seemed very closed initially, but upon warming close to room temperature, some flowers and rainwater.
Mouth: Opens with excellent acidity through the middle of the mouth. Slightly waxy texture when aerated. Again, I found this to be fairly closed, but did enjoy some green apples and herby grasses. Not particularly complex, though I guess it makes for easy drinking.
Finish: Fairly short and acidic. Refreshing.
Other Thoughts: I was not blown away by this wine. I think it drinks well in a very narrow temperature--too cold and it's muted, too warm and it goes flat. Refreshing with good minerality. Would consume with a white fish (or sell) if I had other bottles. Were I to drink this blind, I would guess Riesling, though its "Riesling" characteristics are not nearly as pronounced as a good, classic Riesling. Makes sense, given it's another grape entirely. Cool to try a California rarity from the young prince of Zinfandel, but I won't be buying it again.

What a pleasant surprise. I got a ton of peaches upon opening the bottle, but that blew off and succumbed to more citrus fruits. Remarkable minerality for Napa and the salinity that the Rias Baixas is known for is present as well. An almost effervescent quality is strangly obvious in the wine. I am very pleased overall, and will continue to try anything MTP produces.
I just love this wine, in my opinion it's the perfect spring and summer drink. Very clear, just a slight yellow tinge. The acidity is clear on the nose, along with a little tropical fruit and a slight hint of honey. Electric acidity on the tongue, but also honeyed sweetness at the end to balance it out. Laced with minerals, some stone fruits. Maybe not the most complex wine ever, but it's balanced, crisp, and an absolute joy to drink.
