Quelle surprise: nettement meilleur qu’il y a 3 ans, malgré le millésime difficile. Les tannins se sont assouplis, la facture est classique, droite à l’attaque puis expansive.

My last 2011 bottle, bought 4 bottles 2 of this, last time 12 month ago, totally locked down and tannic, this time more nose and just a hint of tannic notes, but not a great experience, thin and diluted, waste of money, sadly.

Really right. Yes, just before the start of an aggressive drinking window. Light nose with blood boudin and sage/camphor - fun! Nice body. Light and round profile. Maraska cherry and mineral water mesh nicely. No edges on the finish. Lovely.

Somewhat muted nose offering pomegranate fruit, some light sky’s bois and rose petals. Slight vegetal bell pepper/tomato leaf note, but nothing overbearing. Very light to medium body for this house and for a Pommard. Sweet spot is probably the next 3-5 years, doesn’t have the stuffing to make old bones.
This is a supremely elegant Pommard. It's a somewhat quiet wine, but there are many layers of complexity and there aromatics are superb and long-lasting (both on the nose and in the mouth on the finish). It is this ethereal quality that keeps me coming back to talents like this family in Burgundy. At $82 it was not inexpensive, but certainly, in the context of Burgundy, it was a good value and I am glad to have waited five years to open it.

This wine has been closed for the past couple of years, but is now re-emerging nicely. The classic 2011 vegetal notes are present but are delicate and actually quite pleasant. A delicate wine with smooth tannins. Well balanced wine and a pleasant surprise.

a good experience here; the nose gives off bright red berry, strawberry and spice scents, solid structure with a lean built, shows off bright crunchy red fruit, mineral character carries it away on the finish and leaves the mouth watering for more, while enjoyable now it shows good potential to cellar further

Muted nose. Sour cherry and underripe raspberry, light char and spice on the palate. It's one-dimensional and lacking real interest. It’s fine (and pretty well balanced), just simple and uninspired right now.
Day 2: Even less inspired but now with pulverizing bitterness. Scored for day 1.

Burgundy Tasting (Ivy, George Street, Sydney): muted medium minus intensity aromas of raspberry, spice and cream,. Quite refined. In the mouth there are flavours of juicy, slightly unripe red berry fruit and chewy tannin. Both of these are on the front of the palate then fade slowly on the medium plus length. Quite simple

Decanted for 3 hours, not ready, tannic but getting there, needs more time come back in 2023.

Un bon vin, encore jeune, dans un style très classique, assez tendu, modérément tannique, un peu austère. À revisiter dans 2 ans.

limited notes, tasted blind and found to be quite elegant lighter red fruit; surprised to see it's pommard

Eye: Ruby
Nose: Earth, tar, cherry liqueur
Palate: Med+ acidity, Tar, forest floor and minerality. Firm tannins with a medium finish.
Overall this was enjoyable but needs at least 3 more years, wait!

Sydney Burgundy Celebration (Sydney, Australia): Animale, violets, orange peel and toast. Less wild on the palate but still quite savoury. Length falls away a tiny bit early.
