Screw top, PnP. Nose is old red fruit with some integrated oak I believe. Nose also reminds me of Priorat grenache for some reason, some dusty or old world about it, slight salty or bloody. Bright plum flavors dominate intially. Some cranberry on the finish. Thin and elegant with tannins totally resolved. I read wild yeast was used, wonder if any oak and how much whole cluster. Maybe the best deal I've gotten on garagiste. I would drink up, fruit is fading and it is already a thin wine.

Final btl. Unscrewed on the 17th, notes from the 19th. Just stunning on days 1 and 2 and far and away the best showing I've had for this wine. Very mild signs of oxidation on day 3 open (unrefrigerated on the counter overnight in between). On the nose: black tea, dried strawberry, wet leaf, spice. On the palate: fantastic acidity, wild strawberry, earthy herbals, with a touch of decay/oxidation and the softest hint of tannin on the finish. Absolutely lovely.

Wow. A Kelley Fox special. Medium ruby with some bricking at the edge. Floral notes on the nose. Light cranberry fruit. Crunchy. Excellent grip. Good persistence.

Ok, these just keep getting better. Notes similar to last time, but more dense on the palate. Paired beautifully with white beans and kale, and also.some Brillat-Savarin.

Wow, best bottle so far...just starting to hit its stride. On the nose, denser than I remember, with lovely wild strawberry and cranberry, a touch of funk. On the palate, excellent acidity, more wild strawberry and cranberry, softly textured, lighter bodied....very soft tannin on the finish.

This is a gorgeous pinot and easily the best I've tasted from Oregon. Elegant and so finely balanced and well integrated. Tasting only the fruit with the wood buried somewhere far in the background. Eyes closed this was a classic Nuits St. Georges.

This was really quite excellent, especially when considering the ridiculous closeout price of $12+ from Garagiste for a wine of this quality and maturity. Wish I had bought six!

Vibrant acidity, enticing perfumed nose. Light and refreshing, this food-friendly Pinot would go well with a variety of dishes. Fantastic bargain from Garagiste at $13.

This wine was very light and delicate, with a long, consistent tannic streak. After ~2 hours, aromas of light red fruit (cranberry and raspberry), and some wet stone and damp earth. Reminds me of some reds from Savoie. Some sourness and acidity. I think this would pair very well with red gamey meats like duck or venison.

The first of the bottles I purchased from Garagiste. Better with about 5 hrs of air..at first this was a bit thin and weedy. Perfumed nose with high-toned raspberry, a delicate touch of sandalwood, and a hint of leaves. On the palate, beautiful acidity, softly textured. An excellent showing, with lots of air.
Day 2: the tannin comes through more today...This was maybe slightly closed yesterday. Wow, this will improve a lot with age.

This certainly reflects the cool vintage, and its hallmark is elegance and grace rather than ripeness and power. This is drinking really well now, with a complex mix of cherry, raspberry, sandalwood and light spices on the pure, medium-bodied palate (A-).

This is excellent now. Beautiful nose with strawberry, cranberry, a touch of sandalwood and cinnamon. On palate, fantastic acidity, with loads of sour cherry and cranberry. The slightest hint of tannin on the long and refreshing finish. Maybe has peaked.

Very pedestrian wine. I love my Burgundy Pinot Noir and bought this one thinking it would be a good introduction to Oregon Pinot Noir. Feeling disappointed. No structure, not much fruit or tannin left.

Drank over two days. This bottle seemed to be off due to oxidation. Pale colour and more bricking then you would expect from a 6 year old wine. No fruit, flabby, no tannins. Therefore no rating.

It reminds me of what I think an Oregon pinot should taste like, but without a lot of depth or complexity. Drinks nicely, cranberry, muted raspberry, earthiness, and the barest hint of spice to finish. Medium acidity. Low tannins. Fun to drink, but not something that wows.

- Aromas of cherry and rose and has flavours of strawberry and raspberry with a light/medium body with a medium finish - A very nice Oregonian Pinot. Some acidity but mellows. Lighter weight not much glycerin. Strawberry and raspberry fruit on the tongue and lingers for some time. Very nice, look forward to the next one.

Best bottle so far; this is really starting to hit its stride. After a few days(!) open, still shows a very nice nose of pure cranberry/strawberry and a touch of sandalwood. On the palate, nice acidity, with a very soft tannic finish. Has picked up a bit of weight, but still rather light in body. There is a touch of bitterness on the mid and finish.

A very nice showing for this wine. Decanted and drank well. Seems to have picked up some weight. A touch of stems and sour cherry on the nose, and excellent sour cherry and strawberry rhubarb on the palate. Good acidity with a nice finish.

Nice bouquet out of the decanter with red berries and a hint of apple. We decanted the wine for an hour prior to dinner. The pinot is lighter than most but has nice medium body with balanced level of acid that rocked with smoked salmon. The wine has has nice sour cherry and raspberry flavors.
It has been about a year since my last one of these. We decanted this bottle and then dove in. This seems to have improved a bit since last year. Beautiful translucent ruby red. On the nose, some earth, stone, a hint of spice, and a nice variety of red fruits including currants, strawberries and cherries. Medium bodied, and significantly fuller bodied than the 2011 Two messengers. The acidity seems a little softer than I remember from my note, but on the palate, there is good minerality and a good mix of sour and dark cherries, strawberries, and currants. A nice bit of tannin on the finish adds a little structure to round things out. Very elegant and, again, drinking very well right now. Paired perfectly with pan-seared salmon.

Nose has red current, cherries and raspberries. Palate was silky with nice tannins and mineral which balanced nicely with the acidity. Also had traces of white pepper and floral notes. The finish was medium, Simple, but well done. A good daily drinker.

I decanted this for several hours, and the nose developed beautifully. Lots of pinot funk (mushrooms and earthy humus notes) together with ripe red fruits (cherry and strawberry). On the palate a bit one dimensional at present as all that lovely promise of the nose is markedly absent, and acid dominates. Needs time.

Clear ruby red in color. Bright red fruits with a very nice acidity. A hint of bitterness in the finish and very little perceptible tannin. Fairly long refreshing finish. Lighter bodied than the 2012, which has a little more tannin on the finish and more dark fruits. This is drinking quite well now.

Bright red fruit aromas with a slightly intense, jammy sense. Strawberry and raspberry flavors, also very forward, perhaps slightly simple, but a very well made and balanced wine for early consumption. A very good value.
