Butter, lemon, apple, melon (and a little toasted oak). Great bottle, unlikely to improve, best consumed now, and be mindful of the serving temp to get out the most flavor without the wine turning flabby.

Less convinced than other recent tasters. Rather than balanced and classic (the style being aimed at) this simply felt lean and a little ungenerous. I've been disappointed in Karia before but hoped this might win me round. A weak link in the Stag's Leap range for me.

Un classique Chardo de Californie, bien beurré, une légère touche de vanille, amande et d'agrumes confites. Bonne vivacité. Longue finale sur le boisé.

Much better than the previous bottle - not muddled. In this case, clear buttery, lemony and woody aromas with a bit of apple and melon. Nice attack, middle and a good balanced finished. A good wine.

WSET Level 3 Revision Session 1 (WSET): Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of toasted oak, citrus lemon, lime, and some saline minerality. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of toasted oak, butter, citrus lemon, lime, saline minerality. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Restrained style of New World Chardonnay without overpowering oak. Elegant and east-drinking rather than complex. Can drink now, and suitable for ageing over the next 3+ years. Grapes from select cool-climate vineyards in southern Napa Valley.

B-O-R-I-N-G! Utterly boring wine. Weak on the nose weak on the mid palate a little hot on the finish. Sound like the typical sub $10 supermarket Chardonay? Well this cost $25 at Costco! Save your money and get a $8 wine to pair with your hotdog and pizza at teh food counter.

Starts out shy before revealing Meyer lemon, jack fruit, apple, pear, and cream aromas. Mid-bodied and lithe, this reminds me of a Pouilly-Fuisse. Shows good freshness and balance, with a flinty aspect on the palate. Very good.

Not bad,as this more restrained style of CA chardonnay, can, after warming up a bit, exhibit some butteriness, a lemon-led crispness and some very discernible toasted honey. The initial colder taste is very acidic, and while the balance improves, it never achieves a more sophisticated range of flavors.

Rather subdued nose of faint yeast, faint lemon, hint of vanilla. Acid balance slightly flat, but overall it is very pleasant in the mouth and has a lovely finish.

shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. paired with chicken, pepper, mozz and basil from la bella. i had a vague recollection of having had this wine before. database shows that it was the 2005 vintage which we drank in 2007. review of tasting notes from myself an others suggests that this wine is constructed to show best about three years from the vintage, hold well for a year and then decline rapidly after that. this bottle, may follow the same pattern but seems to be more robust. i believe that 2011 was a more successful vintage overall. this wine starts out shy showing mostly oak which is probably annoying to most people. after 30 minutes it builds to a huge crescendo with lingering oak balanced by white fruit as well as citrus, lots of vanilla and some minerality. i am guessing that with another year of bottle age, this wine will really come together. will go back for more. interesting that winery has not raised prices since 2007.

Light golden color
Tropical notes with slight lemon
Slight pineapple with a smooth transition
Not my favorite for the price
