So good! Garnet with bricking around the edges. Clear and bright with very light opacity. Nose of red fruits - strawberry, tart cherry, licorice eucalyptus and spice box. There are also dusty and vanilla cream notes. The mouth is soft fine grained tannins affecting, mainly, the upper palate with a core of medium plus acidity for lift. Consisten red fruits with some roasted and and chocolate notes on the long finish. Excellent

Delicious but not stellar. Perhaps it was at the edge of its glory. Had a modest nose of dark fruit. The palate is rich with earth and still good acidity. Not much of any tannins left. Was a pleasure with some Italian cheese and bread.

This is rounder and more fleshy than the Stella Retica we just had, but while it may not be as focused, I prefer this, as it is more expansive on the palate.

Good acidity and decent persistence on the palate - very likable, if less than stellar. Not the best QPR, but still a good drink on a snowy Saturday. I may have mentioned this in a previous note on an ArPePe wine, but I rarely get the feeling that these wines need a lot more time, in contrast to, say, a 2006 Barolo from someone like Brovia that I'm not even tempted to open at this point.

Unfortunately, this bottle was tasted right after I had a glass of an excellent 2006 Castell'In Villa CCR, so it's working at a substantial disadvantage.
An attractive nose with some musky red fruit. Light- to medium-bodied on the palate - this isn't bad by any means, but given the vintage and producer, somewhat underwhelming.

Definitely interesting well made stuff but I am finding this on the tired side. Translucent brown tinged red. Baked red fruit, brown sugar, dry earth and good acidity. I like it. At $44,do not feel like this bottle was a good value. But I do have several other bottles from this producer and I am excited to see what else is here. I like the over all style.

Blind N. Italian at Chevalier: Gorgeous aromatics are full of strawberry, red cherry and raspberry with intense florals. The palate is still quite young and showing lighter. Tight. This will be very good with more time. Upside from here.

Crushed violets and rose petals. While that is lovely the bouquet is fairly faint. The palate is much nicer. Juicy texture, leathered fruits, dried currants. Subtle tannin and acidity.
I think this is in a transition stage. A year or two more and the tertiary notes will be more assertive.

A totally entrancing wine. Initially, it was all about roses and bright red fruit. With time, leather and licorice notes emerged. Great with a meal of quail and rabbit shared with VLM and his wife. Lightweight on the palate but deeply fruited. I could drink this but got after night.

Elegant, dry, medium-bodied, with lovely soil tones and mountain berry fruits, cherries. Medium-finish, nice lines; prettier on the nose, the palate begs for food. Now or in the next several years. recommended
PnP. Beautiful transparent garnet in color. Very aromatic. Smells of sappy red fruits and roses. Tastes like it smells. Starting to get a little bit tertiary. The tannins make it seem a bit austere, but in some ways it is rather Burgundian.

Consistent with my prior note. Open-knit red fruits and some young nebbiolo rusticity, but the tannins are reasonably refined and this is highly drinkable. Great restaurant wine with lots of soul.

Thoroughly enjoyed this with pan-fried veal chop, garlic mashed potatoes, broiled asparagus. (taking a cue from CHAZ review) Translucent red in glass, subtle nose of red fruit, floral, tinges of smoke, earth. Lovely palate graced with hints of anise/licorice as wine opened, cherry, and a remarkable cleansing mid to back length. Seems to be in perfect shape for drinking now, well-balanced acidity & tannin. Nicely integrated.
A bit left for Day 2--not as fresh or lively, and a bit more earth/tobacco. Still good but not as crisp and fresh, less dimensional.

Quite light and limpid in the glass. Earthy cherry tones on the nose. Bright red fruit with brisk minerality. A touch of soil and smoke on the back end. A nice bottle of mountain Nebbiolo, light on its feet and traditionally styled. Pairs nicely with a wide array of dishes that call for a nimble red.

Bright, semi-translucent ruby hue with and intoxicating and earthy bouquet. On the palate the wine performs with complexity, balance and finesse and finishes with considerable elegance. A round and delicious wine with lots of soul!

Light ruby red, beautiful aroma of light red fruits, tobacco and mint, good acidity and resolved tannins, probably the most weightless and graceful Nebbiolo I've ever experienced. A beautiful wine.

Translucent ruby in the glass; cherry-scented menthol nose on this popped & poured wine. Nice legs.
Smooth, yet edgy at the same time. Vibrant acidity, with sweet & sour cherry fruit. Very nice - elegant; a wine you could sit on the couch with and ponder while listening to some jazz (as I am right now with Kenny Burrell on the stereo).

Decanted and poured, this wine gave a very good to excellent showing. The bouquet shows maturing notes of red fruits with spice, floral and forest floor elements. The color is a tarnished light to medium ruby. The medium bodied palate shows a combination of mature and youthful elements. The wine shows very good overall balance with a short to medium length finish that somewhat detracts from the overall showing. This is at or around its peak.

Great value nebbiolo. It's light and nimble on the palate with an almost smooth texture. The acidity is definitely there and I got flavors of red berries and cherries with floral and earthy/mineral notes. There was quite a bit to this bottle as it opened up and we consumed it with some delicious Italian dishes.

Tart red berries, like red currants or raspberries, roses, with notes of leaves and hibiscus. Acidity is relatively high, body is light, tannins low. Extremely drinkable. The high acidity will allow this to age further and it should improve with a few more years.

Muted nose upon opening - tobacco, cherry, old leather. Did not decant. Medium body. Lovely and light on the palate. Downright delicate for a Nebbiolo.
