Drank over 3 days and no formal notes taken. Day1 the wine was a pleasant surprise with red and dark berries, sweet spices, firm acidity and vanilla. Day 2 the wine disappointed because it seemed rather thin and boring. Day 3 the wine was more soft and developed a bit for the better compared to day 2. Overall ok, but not really special.

Initial pour of nice light leather color w/mineralogy nose. Fine legs. Flavor of graphite, cinder block. Initially went went well with meat & cheese tray for appetizers. By dinner, 1 Hour, wine had faded to significant acidic profile, far more acidic than I care for. Was disappointed how wine faded. Used balance of wine for base to Red Wine Barbecue sauce I make.

This was my last bottle of the 2010. Very good Rioja for the price, as stated before. I regret a bit I didn't buy more of the 2010 vintage. Then again they should be drunk now, maybe wait 1 or 2 years longer, but doubt that they will improve. On the bouquet: cassis, red fruit, there is a bit of sweet sour smell in the background that hints of dried cranberries. Oak. On the palette: same as what is revealed in the bouquet, soft tannins, oak.

At its peak. This wine has matured so nicely the last couple of years. Not sure how much longer it will last at this level, but don't hesitate to open up a bottle. Personally will finish this vintage by the next couple of years (2016/2017) and move gradually on to the next.

This wine has an incredible QPR! Everyone should have a wine in their cellar which can be labelled as casual drinking wine. They should be inexpensive enough not to make you think about uncorking a bottle if you feel like it. Yet they should present themselves with a good enough quality which draws you back to them each and every time. For me this wine is exactly that.

Bien bon!!

Cranberry red with garnet highlights. Strawberry, cinnamon, and earth nose. Medium bodied, pomegranates, cherry pie, white pepper, soft but slightly astringent tannins, soy sauce, sharp acid, and a red candy finish. Better with food.

Visual: Nice dark ruby color. It is about 30-35% opaque with tight slow forming legs.
The nose: Is a bit challenged. minerals, raisins an oak.
Da Flava: Nice balance of oak and raisins, very spicy and very good.
The wine: Very well balanced. Mild tannins, fairly dry. Finish is a bit short. Definitely allow to breathe, minimum 45 minutes. First swig was battle to glass as I made dinner, I was afraid I was going to have to throw it out. Mellows nicely. Almost too nicely, though. I wish the nose were better, and the finish were longer... if it were this would be 91-92 points, IMO.

Monthly tasting club LTC 2014-08; A mixed set of red wines. (@ My place): In the bouquet red berry fruits and vanilla. On the palate ripe dark and red berry fruits, sweet spices, coffee, herbs, some chocolate, good balance between acidity and tannin with a soft and pleasant bite. Overall a wine with good freshness and some luxury. Early maturity now and certainly still nice around 2018+ Good qpr!

Opened, poured into a decanter, and then served with food (pasta in a tomato-zucchini sauce, and grilled steak,in case you were wondering). Followed over four hours. Color is fairly dark purple-maroon. Nose is vanilla and ripe plums. Flavor is of rich plums, dark chocolate, and some black cherries. Lively with a streak of good acidity to keep it fresh. A nice wine.

Un bon Rioja pas très complexe, mais bien fait et sans défaut. Dommage que les prix ici l'écartent de la catégorie "bons vins de semaine" car il aurait été un très bon candidat. En "vin du samedi" il ne se démarque pas vraiment du lot.

This wine is 75% grenache, 20% tempranillo, and 5% mazuelo. It's hardly classic Rioja.
This is a fruit-forward wine. I tend to dislike fruit-forward grenache-based wines, but I like this one. There is an abundance of candyish red fruit, which dominates the nose. It's tangy and juicy like a cherry Jolly Rancher, not jammy and alcoholic. There is also ample spice, minerality, and unusual floral/herbal flavors. And there is vanilla oak. The wine is lively and joyous.

Dark ruby color with floral, herbal scents on dark fruit. The palate is unctuous, electrifying, and lifted with a velvety texture and bright acidity. Flavors of black currant, cherries, limestone, bitter chocolate, iron filings and pencil shavings form the core. Finishes with hints of spice and flowers. I found this wine to have veered off from the typical Rioja style. This has a modern take, and somewhat similar in style to wines done by Alvaro Palacios from Priorat but with more intensity. This could get better with age. Drink now with 30 minutes decanting until 2020.

For me, Rioja is a dicey choice. Too often, anything less than 6-7 years old harsh on the palate for me. This was rated at 93 pts by somebody at under $13 so I gotta try it. Beautiful ruby color and good tannins that enhance the drinking experience. At this price, it is worth purchasing more.

Had this at Binomio in Singapore. Quite sweet with chocolatey overtones. Still pretty oaky but that will probably settle down with a bit more time. Not really my style of wine. Agree with other users who have noted that this is more in the mould of a new world wine than a rioja.

I might give this more as it's really beautiful and nice wine, especially at 10 EUR you can find it on multiple stores in Europe. A real QPR. Expecting this to last for 3-5 more years.

Unlike a few others I find this wine very elegant - and although not up to Parkers 93 a very good wine. Deep clear ruby colour a moderate intensity flavour with flesh, spice, raspberries and a touch of vanilla. Medium full, medium round tannins. After a few hours in the glass it opens up beautifully and reveals a complex and weel integrated structure. Raspbeeries, spice, ripe cherries and light tobacco. Long balanced aftertaste. New time (must buy some more) I will give this 2hrs in decanter.

Soft and supple tannins, free flowing acidity - medium to long length.
People harp on about the QPR on this one. Some people saying $15 from Costco? I paid bloody $45 AUD! Perhaps I drank a different style?
None the less, for $45 the QPR is still solid.
Plenty of ripe rounded fruits like cherries. It went beautifully with food, as you'd expect a Rioja would.
I decanted it for an hour and it most certainly needed it. Went down super quickly.

A very nice Rioja that opens up after a few minutes. Purchased at Costco for $12.99

Costco recommended this wine with manchego cheese. Not bad. Bright fruit flavor balanced with acidity at the end.

Very nice. Spices, some wood. Good balance. A go-to wine at the right price.

Does the job. Nice spices on the nose, reddish fruit. Drinking well but could use a year or so more in the cellar to integrate the wood and round out. Very nice QPR.
