Wine brought to a dinner so no formal notes taken. Was fortunate enough to be able to drink this with Duncan Arnot-Meyers. This has really blossomed since last tasted. No more funky aromas - this is beautiful juice with a tannic backbone which to me is striking for a Gamay. The whole cluster fermentation is now seamless, with the juicy fruit and tannins from the stems all wrapped up in one luscious package. I commented on the price last note, but the way this is drinking now, its all worth it.

Now THIS is what I was hoping for from the RPM project. Where the '11 seemed trying too hard to be Cru Beaujolais, this vintage owns it's California terrior. That's not to say this is a big wine, it's just Gamay with a little more flesh on its bones, a Gamay with a sun drenched face. Even so, this wine is all about rocks and tea and flowers... and dark cherry and raspberry fruit. Really, really damn good.

Brought to BYOB Southern Culture dinner - no notes taken. Slightly pettilant, funky aromas, which did blow off after a few minutes. Nice and fruity, similar to Grand Cru Beaujolais in body and complexity. Not sure I wouldn't be better off and better price point just buying the real thing

I'm letting this sit over night. This was so sulfuric when I opened it I had to record it and give it a night. Tasted fine, I just couldn't get past that hard boiled egg smell. Now 82 due to the nose, will revisit tomorrow . . .
Nice depth of fruit, but a bit of effervescence and a sting of acidity on the finish. This needs time to resolve, or maybe the structure just isn't there.

For me, a step in the right direction from the 2011. Rather than just good Gamay, this is more crystalline, delineated, and shows more of what I've come to expect from Barsotti/Witters. Now we're talkin' - that purity of CA fruit coupled with a firmer structure than the '11 - this isn't trying to be Cru Beaujolais, this is finding the voice of B/W as expressed by RPM. More please. I can't wait to taste the 2022.

Classic Gamay profile, with a nice noseful of violet and dark cherry. Juicy fruit without any hint of excessive ripeness, nicely dry, moderately tannic.

I didn't know what to expect from this, but with the people behind the wine thought it was worth taking a chance on and that was the right thing to do as this was a really delicious wine to kick off a good evening. I'm loathe to compare old and new worlds, but this wine is as good as pretty much any Morgon I've tried, maybe not as much earthiness as Foillards wines, but this is ripe and full flavoured with some lovely sappy freshness, the depth of fruit was there as was a good finish, a very pleasant surprise

Popped and poured at a party, no formal notes. Tasted very young but good. A bit of spritz though, which had me worried. I hope it was just dissolved CO2. Tart red and black berry flavors, notes of graphite, and good concentration. Easy to pair with foods, like hamburgers and carne asada. A tasty wine with plenty of years left ahead of it.

13.5% alcohol. Medium dark ruby red. Nice red-fruit aromatics. Red cherries and spice highlight a savory flavor profile. Great balance and a lingering aftertaste. A delicious and interesting wine.

Nathan poured this at the Arnot Roberts pick-up party. Deep dark color, big ripe blackberry with undertones of nutmeg rolling into a peppery blackberry finish with a whole cluster grip. Last last of 14 wines tasted today, just couldn't wrap myself around this one for some reason.

Yes, this. Still getting better. Fruit and body over sinew and stones.

Delicious. Black pepper, cherry cola with granite. Nice. Went great with turkey burgers, mushrooms and shallots.

Simple red fruit. Solid, but nothing spectacular. Not sure where the 90+ point ratings are coming from.
