Golden colour. Butter, butterscotch, vanilla, pears, hints of pineapples. Fully mature and from now on it is going to be more and more dominated by its vanilla and butterscotch scents and flavors, which one really can like. My last bottle from a case I bought back in 2015. Somehow (and unfortunately) this bottle had too much cloying butterscotch candy on the palate, even with some air and at varying temperatures I tried (from high 40s to low 60s F). Still good acidity though.

Per prior notes. I'd add, nearly two years after last bottle, this seemed a bit more subdued, with less vanilla/butterscotch/brulee, resulting in a cleaner if slightly less rich nose & palate. This seems to be the same impression SLAZ described.

Getting close to the end of a case I bought in early 2015. Less opulence than in many of my prior tastings, something I appreciate, but also less complexity. Had some evolution over several hours of breathing. This has no signs of going downhill, including still good acidity.

Don't know if this needed more air, more time in the bottle or what. All the desirable components were there, but it was disjointed. I got butter, butterscotch, lemon curd, acidity, tannins, etc., but they were separate and not seamlessly integrated.

Light golden. Vanilla, butter, quince, citrus, tropical fruit and minerals. All in all the first bottle showed more concentrated fruit at least on day two. And this seems to be more evolved than previous vintages at this age. This is a little confusing at this stage. May be not living up to my expectations or just not ready. 94?

Just such a consistent wine in every vintage. My wife and I both love the Chardonnay. Such a silky textured wine with layers of citrus fruits. Not oaky at all. Always a pleasure to drink but 7/8 years is about its max in mu opinion.

2012 NEWTON UNFILTERED NAPA CHARDONNAY- tasted blind; extremely rich and powerful, this had a touch of toast in the nose and a sense of oil; the taste was more of honeyed, dried, burnt toast peach and apricot with some flint coming in late; I did not know what to make of it as to CA or FR and called it CA; 15.5% abv.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose is slightly dirty smelling up front like an earthiness followed by some mixed yellow fruits. Flavors of light notes of vanilla, creme and Anjou pear. Medium acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink now.
My guess was this is New World, California Chardonnay, Sonoma or Central Coast, 2014 Kosta Browne or Sea Smoke.

This is nectar in a bottle. Ripe, but very clean, tropical aromas of pineapple, marmalade, and a smidgen of toast. Rich, plump, and buttery yet juicy, racy, and vibrant in the mouth. Shows impeccable depth, balance, and complexity, with long and expansive textures, layers, and flavors. Picks up citrus pith and anise on the broad and palate-cleansing finish. Flamboyant, tensile, and hedonistic. A gorgeous wine.

Notes from memory - paired with zesty lime and mango chicken tacos. Nose brought white flowers and tangerines. Big, broad, buttery palate brought sweet tropical fruit basket, butterscotch, honeycomb, and honeycrisp apples. The finish was zesty and tangy with orange and yellow fruit lingering for 45-second plus. An unabashed, hedonistic CA chard that should be good until 2020.

straw yellow, vanillin, toasty new oak hiding most of the fruit. Young Newton chardonnay shows in every vintage back to 1991, that I had the pleasure to drink, not well integrated new oak. Wait at least 3 more years. 92+

Served with sea scallops on pasta in lemon/wine/dill sauce. Rich, medium body. Per other comments, citrus/tropical fruit, mineral, vanilla, creme brulee/butterscotch, a bit of honey sweetness too. Decent acidity keeps the sweetness in check, though at times I wished for a slightly different balance.

More tropical than the other chardonnays opened, this wine had aromas of pineapple, dried stone fruit, citrus and a bit of vanilla creme brulee. Paired very well with grilled lobsters and drawn butter.

Excellent now but is likely to get softer and fuller with a few more years. Was evolving with air. Tasted best at around 55F (too hot at above 60F). On the palate, not cloying, with good acidity and plenty of horsepower (wife tasted some bitterness). A tad more sweet than Mt. Eden Estate 2011 but again, not over the top. Very good balance.

Loved this - rarely enjoy white wine, and usually chardonnay is too oaky for me. This was smooth and buttery and just delicious mouth feel. A winner at our house!

Drink at 65, not any colder! Great body, butter, and some citrus. Clean oak with a super long finish. Enough acid to clean up after cheese. Got better the longer it was open.

This wine gets better with every bottle. My notes are similar to last time. I like the fact that it is not overly oaky. This is a great QPR.

Very nice Chardonnay. There was oak on the nose. The finish is creamy as another taster mentioned with a notes of butter and citrus on the palate.
