My last of my half case. This has been easily in my 10 ten white wines . However this bottle did not quite perform as past bottles. I’m not sure if this is the bottle variation or if it getting long in the tooth. I think it’s time to pop the corks on these.

Pale gold in the glass. Expressive nose with kiwi, starfruit and and waxy lemon together with almonds and hay. Medium bodied with good freshness and a fair amount of grip. Peach and caramel emerge on the palate with good persistence.

Fully mature, the display of slightly, honeyed, citrus, white peach and tropical orange fruits on the nose and palate hits the spot. Round, soft and lush, there is ample freshness to keep it lovely. Drink from 2023-2027.

Been 5 years since my last bottle of this one. This bottle was picked up in Zurich a year ago on our travels. We ended up not consuming it then so into the cellar back here at home, until tonight. Dinner at London Club with G & L and since a few of us were having seafood/salads a good time to open. I preferred the wine at cellar temp in order to appreciate what's left of the once brilliant nose....peach, tangerine, hint of honey, beeswax and vanilla. Gabriel prefers it colder so we iced it down, and it does show better for the palate then, I think. Still, this bottle's color is darkening a good bit from 5 years ago, indicating its age. The nose is not nearly the great floral bouquet it once was. My original bottles were in the 95-96 range for the nose alone, my last 2 have been more like 92-93. Still, it's a very nice wine, it just appears that I appreciate this one, from the somewhat troubling '13 Bdx vintage, more on the younger side.

Intense and straw yellow in the glass. Aroma's of buxus (Sauvignon Blanc is showing itself), candied lemon, ripe pear, beewax, almond, honey an a hint of vanilla.
Wine had higher acids than anticipated in the nose. Again same aroma's, together with some creme brûlee. and a long finish.
Wine would perfectly match with a trout and almonds, but even with grilled Norway lobster or any grilled fish with a cream sauce like sauce Hollandaise.
Absolutely top and still a lot of aging pontential

Brilliant golden hue in the glass. Aromas of beeswax, lemon meringue, Granny Smith apple, and a hint of petrol. On the palate this is medium to full body, with moderate acidity and low tannin. It’s quite delicious with more of the apple flavors, tropical notes, and vanilla. Drinking great now and probably has 3-5 years of this period before gaining more weight and richness.

It’s a blend of 44% Sauvignon Blanc, 37% Sémillon, 16 Sauvignon Gris and 3% Muscadelle. It’s definitely one of the best dry whites from Bordeaux I tried so far. It’s still a little young and needs time to open up, decanting for 1-2 hours would be good. The nose is floral with some exotic fruits. On the palate quite thick but structured at the same time. Refreshing mouthfeeling with a great acidity, lime, pineapple, mango and honey. Long and crispy finish. Although it drinks beautiful right now with some air this will age gracefully, definitely worth a try!

Opened and let breathe in the bottle for one hour. Drank over the next three. Straw colored. Nose has pineapple, lime and a bit of raspberry. The palate is where this gets exciting. Thickly textured. Tropical fruits galore, mango, pineapple with some ranier cherry thrown in. Good acidity. Slight metallic character. Comes across a little bit green A bit hot on the alcohol. Really complex with great length. Needs a few more years of integration to reach it's potential. Great wine.

Has to be one of the finest white wines I have ever tasted. Only surpassed by a few bottles. Ranks with the Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2010, and Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2009. Still goes to show, that Pessac makes the best whites in Bordeaux ...
Started out very shy ( could use some time in decanter ), but opened up during the evening. So glad I purchased a few of these, good to know they can be enjoyed now or keep cellared.

Very nice bottle shared with good friends before dinner....the nose is one of a kind floral. The entry is mid weight, maybe a touch of glycerin with white flowers, peach and pear, with a significant finish of pure clover honey. A nice bottle but not quite the 95 we had at the Chateau with lunch 9 months ago. At this pricepoint, this needed to be as good as that last bottle to justify its cost.

The freshness is apparent, which works well with all the just squeezed, grapefruit, lemon grass, orange and stone notes. The finish is all about the crisp, refreshing citrus with just a touch of honey.

Straw yellow color. A bit shy on the nose at first, but opened up beautifully. Tropical fruits, pineapple, fresh flowers, and notes of butterscotch and caramel. A really nice weight. You can tell there's some heft to this, and with solid acidity. Flavors linger on the palate. Shut down after some time. I think I'd give this a few more years, as it will surely improve.

Served at the Chateau with lunch during our group's visit. A very limited bottling of only 800 cases. Never before have I had the privilege of a nose like this on a white. It isn't just floral, it's perfume on top of floral, on top of more perfume. This is an absolutely beautiful white wine. Far above my pricepoint, it will stick in my memory forever. In very short supply. If you can find any, you are very lucky and can hold this for quite some time given it's sturdy acid backbone.

Strong primary grapefruit and citrus on the nose but also starting to show developing notes of honey. Complex hints of warm spice. Good intensity; quite bracing acidity at this youthful age. Needs time to come together but should be excellent with time.

From Coravin at Chateau. Pale straw color. Grapefruit and cantaloupe on the spicy, citrusy nose. Grapefruit, pineapple and cumquat on the razor precise palate. Somehow simultaneously devoid of both sweetness and dryness. What it does have, though is acidity in abundance. Long finish. This might be tough as a patio sipper, but would be an epiphany with oysters. 93+ pts.

Bordeaux UGC 2013 (Singapore): Nose a bit closed, a touch of brioche/toast, some grassy notes, more complex palate than the earlier whites, a touch of oak but not overdone. Good length. The best white of this 2013 tasting.

With a lot of fatness to the character, due to the blend of 44% Sauvignon Blanc, 16% Sauvignon Gris, 37% Semillon and 3% Muscadelle, (Which is a lot of Sauvignon Gris), the wine opens with a floral, vanilla, orange rind and sweet, lemon curd aromatic display. The wine definitely has length and volume.

UGC Bordeaux Tasting - 2013 Vintage (Bentley Reserve, SF): Beautiful and creamier than the Smith Haut Lafitte. Grapefruit and grass plus celery soda and key lime pie. Slight impression of tannins - maybe from oak? Well-contained alcohol at 13.5% 18 months elevage in 60% new oak. They do lots of battonage - daily for the first week or so.

UGC 2016 (Chicago, IL): This is another in a long string of anonymous high acid Bordeaux blancs from 2013. The only thing that makes this worse than the rest is the loud oak treatment, which is unfortunate, since this actually seems to have a bit more stuffing than most.
