Mild petro over hint av tropisk frukt. Syre og mineralitet dominerer i munnen før vi får sursøt frukt. Frisk syre som balanseres fint av restsødmen. Flott fylde. Blir sittende lenge, med ettersmak av surt smågodt.

Skrukork. Litt saltmineralske bobler som i Farris ved åpning, som forsvant med Fourriershake og 2 t i karaffel. Denne er ubrukelig som pop and pour vin. Perfekt modning for meg. Syren har roet seg og frukten og restsødmen er mer tydelig enn for 2-4 år siden. Vakker floral vin med grønne epler, sitron/lime og melon. Ren, elegant og frisk. Middels lang. Ukomplisert nytelse. Servert til syrlig kalvetartar.

Rather delicious. Some interesting aromas if you really swirl a bunch, some petrol. Melons and pears on the palate, full bodied (for a riesling), very acidic finish.

Somewhat expressive nose, slightly floral, very fresh, tart Granny Smith. Remarkable focus, intensity, and acid-sweetness balance. The acidity is *really* ripping on this, but the sweet core holds it effortlessly. The overall impression is on the typical to slightly dry side of off-dry. Good length. Extremely enjoyable. 10.5%, $44.

Negociants Australia Portfolio Tasting: Herb and musky floral notes are the focus of the nose. The palate is quite well balanced, with the sweetness definitely present but an acid core that sweeps through nicely. Carries well too. Good stuff!

Klar, lys limegul. Veldig fersk på nese med toner av hvit pære, litchi og mild tutti frutti. Lett søtlig og bløtt anslag. Kjølig, crisp limefrukt med lett kropp samtidig som den har antydning til oljet tekstur. Høy, spiss syre. Mild sødme i utgang med fin lengde og syredreven utgang. Trenger tid.

Drank the same bottle two nights in a row. Nose of honey, mineral and light notes of tropical fruit. Excellent acidity spreads in the mouth and hits wave after wave, with refined fruit and mineralities placed within the acidity. Long finish. Excellent wine for the price, must buy more. 93-94 today with possibility of improving with age.

Rieslingfeier 2015: Riesling Crawl: Very different from the Kabinett - much more approachable. The nose is sweet melon, musky, herbal, honey and flowers. Delicious on the palate - lime, minerals, sweet&sour. Great acid/sugar balance, really mouth-watering. This clocks in at 10.5% alcohol, while the 13 Kabinett and Spat are at 8.5%. Egon said that this is completely due to chapitalization - trying to make a wine for earlier and easier drinking. It is also worth noting that all of the WBK fruit went into this. On this Egon said that 2013 was so short that he decided to put all the WBK fruit into this so that there was at least one wine in decent quantity. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16-16.5/20.

Rieslingfeier Riesling Crawl (New York City, NY): An intensely acidic wine with a very nice floral touch. A moderate touch of sweetness on the palate, but again, it's the acidic tension that dominates here. Quite good.

Outstanding quality for a QbA. This is one of the best balanced 2013s I've tried; there's incredible cut and focus to the bright lime, pear and green apple fruit with stony and herbal accents that keep developing with air, the acidity's certainly high but not overwhelming, and it's balanced perfectly by the moderate sweetness here. The palate shows all the finesse and lightness I usually expect from Müller, and this finishes with impressive length.

Day 2 in the Mosel - Egon Muller, A.J. Adam, & Vollenweider (Mosel Saar Ruwer - Germany): A very precise, focused Riesling. Muller’s QbA has always impressed me, and this was another charming example. Peachy and stony, my notes read, “liquid rock”. As always, a nice introduction to Muller’s style.
