Another nice bottle. Elegant, silky texture with good balance and flavors of dried red fruits, licorice, earth and a hint of leather. Seemed fresher than a prior bottle 6 months ago.

Lovely, aged barolo. Dried red fruits, licorice, leather and a hint of tobacco. Medium body with a lean, silky texture, and an elegant texture. Seems a bit older than it should, but overall very enjoyable.

Cork barely stained. Double decanted and served immediately. Bright garnet. Floral and earthy. Palate is fine and elegant, with silty tannins entering in mid-palate and continuing to the long finish. Lovely, especially with food.

Début de son plateau, super équilibre entre l'aromatique puissant et séducteur et la structure toujours solide mais assagie après 10 ans de garde. Un Barolo générique de très haut niveau, encore excellent pour 10 ans encore. 92
Extraordinary nose just loaded with tar, pressed roses, sous bois and decomposed pine needles. Intense palate with loads more smoke and tar as well as spice. This is a MONUMENTAL value. Drink now and over the next few years. 93. df 9.4.

Very nice classic aromas of pine needles, sous bois, pressed flowers and red fruits. Medium-full bodied, fresh and dense. Loaded with sweet red fruits, spice and flowers. After over 2 hours, this is still developing. In a wonderful place right now, this should evolve for a few more years and last to age 15+. 92

Such a different experience from my last bottle. Too high acidity and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Much better with food but disappointing after some much better bottles. My stash comes from 2 different stores so I wonder if there is a difference.
Young, but very good with lots of verve. Developing nicely with a complex nose of red fruits, licorice, leather and tobacco. Medium-body with a lean texture, bright, intense flavors, fresh acidity, drying tannins and a few rough edges. Continues to add depth and complexity with airtime. Already appealing, this will only get better.

Same notes as last bottles except I was able to save a glass for Day 2. All the hard edges from acid and tannin have really mellowed and come together harmoniously. Great wine, great value from a great vintage. I would say this has a very long and positive life. I'd give it 5 years to really balance out.

Riper fruit from previous bottle. 5 hours or so of air and this was really delicious. Tar, tobacco, fresh flowers with a nice deep red fruit core. Great tannin and acid....altogether a really nice bottle with a bright future. Good value for the vintage. 92-93

Opened, decanted and went back in the bottle until the following night. The small sample I did have revealed strong tobacco, tart cherry and mild tannin. Showed a bit of potential.
Day 2: 1 hour in the glass showed tobacco, ripe but tart cherries and a great acidity. As the night went on it passed through a few phases with the last two sips being full of grippy tannins. I'd give this some time to balance but with the proper care can be quite enjoyable now. For 38$ including tax i'd consider this a fantastic QPR from a classic vintage.

A very tight, young Barolo and not as nearly forthcoming as the Gramolere. It showed tremendous drive, tart red fruit upon entry yet quickly turned to structure and finishes with bold tannins that is focused. A cellar worthy wine with awesome palate presence. Great potential and an enormous value.

Unblended Nebbiolo wine, an assemblage of grapes from four different vineyards in the village of Verduno, blended with the wine of the single vineyard San Lorenzo (not produced in 2010). The wine spent 32 months in large French and Slavonian oak barrels. Decanted: three hours before serving. Beautiful, brilliant garnet-red in color and a classic Nebbiolo nose of black cherries, violets, leather, nutmeg and a little touch of earth. The elegant and well-balanced palate offers ripe red fruit, lots of spicy elements and tannins that are evident but not overpowering. Good finish. This wine is already quite accessible but it deserves another few years in the cellar to really show all its potential.

More expressive Day 2. So tight on day one 1 I have trouble with determining potential. day 2 has classic roses and mineral elements in appropriate proportion. Feel it will improve with time, question is vs Cru bottlings. How to allocate space?

Wonderful traditional style Barolo. It is not a heavy and sophisticated Barolo, but it is very juicy, playful and approachable, which is a great quality as well. It still has not peaked, so I believe that when the secondary and tertiary flavors evolve, though already present, it will gain some extra personality. Great value.

There's more stuffing here than usual...you could say that's partly the vintage, but they also blended San Lorenzo into the normale this year. Really expressive! Very fine and spicy. Hi-toned in a fresh and silky way.

A little on the thin side but otherwise very drinkable at this point. Very nice but more understated than I expected.
