La Fete: Gala Dinner (Chelsea Piers: Pier 60): Kindof fabulous. I really love LGD Rose and this is one the best bottles I've had of it. Darker red fruit, some dosage, drinking really well. It's a nice wine.

We served this dbl mag at the last supper this year right before COVID and now served another for the last dance. Deep salmon color, lots of bubbles, delicious and long on the palate. Great start to a great night.

From 3L. What a big boy bottle this was, with a dried cork, stuck.....took three guys to open this after we placed it onto the cement. Salmon colored, still fresh, had cut. 25+ years old, tasted great.

From a jeroboam, maybe imperial, regardless the bottle was enormous. It took two of us to remove the cork, one holding the bottle while the other worked the cork back and forth, around and around, and it was quite a struggle.
I'm not sure what a 1990 rosé is supposed to look like but this was burnt orange color, kind of cool. Slightly oxidized. Very light carbonation and medium plus viscosity. Light acid added to the almost still wine character. Peach fruit and sliced almond. I found it very enjoyable. Definitely not worth aging any longer, drink them up.
Looking at OLDWINES tasting note from a few years earlier you'd think we were drinking from the same bottle.

St. Valentine's Day - 1974 Montelena Dinner (New Jersey): Lovely pink rose color, very slight bubbles. Nose is yeasty, nutty and floral with a touch of peach. Flavors mostly reflect the nose. There is slight oxidized element that isn't bad per se but detectable. If not for that I'd rate this a bit higher. This was the cocktail for our Valentine's dinner with 4 couples.

Super fresh, loaded, out of a 3L as our daughter came in from LA to celebrate with her brother and sister in law. Side by side with a 3L '89 La grande dame. While both were outstanding the edge went to the Rose and most people gave that wine the nod for WOTN.

(Portland, ME): Color: Peach pale golden Smell: Almonds, nectarines, peach, yellow apples, Taste: Cashews, peach, biscuit, dried apricots, Overall: Wow...this was my first experience with this tête de cuvée. This was just lovely, medium body, medium fruit, medium+ aicidity, with a fine mousse that just sings on the palate. OUTSTANDING!!!!

From magnum at the Walla Walla offline on 7/2/04; Unfortunately we did not have champagne flutes so we didn't get the full effect of this beautiful champagne. It was a deep pink-orange in color with a intense nose of spices and strawberries. More strawberries, cinnamon in the middle with a bit of an earthy note. There were some florals and spice on the long finish. From the mag it was very fresh and still youthful. It came in just short of a WOW wine.

Burgundy Dinner with the Chevaliers du Tastevin (The Old Inn On The Green, New Marlborough, MA.): [3 liter bottle. This was a special treat from Severn's cellar.] Lovely color. Smooth, mellow, complex. Just gorgeous.

The Last Dance Magnum Dinner (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): From 3L, this was not quite as fresh as the same wine/ size/ cellar from earlier this year. Almost as much earth as fruit, still showing an intense structural backbone.

Brilliant salmon, almost red color. Great bubbles, savory and not wanting it to end, great way to start the last supper.

Last Wine Dinner Before the Coronavirus Shutdown (EL Ideas - Chicago IL): From 3L, this was amazingly fresh, bright and powerful with so much berry character showing impressive depth. So engaging now, this really highlights how large formats particularly benefits cellarworthy Champagne.

Very dark red and oxidized. Not a fun champagne to drink. Really heavy and bitter.

Double magnum, fantastic, but a little more youthful than a near perfect 750 ml tasted in March.
As others have reported, the cork was almost impossible to remove, ultimately requiring a corkscrew when the top broke off.
