Ruby red with pink-orange rim. Redcurrant, raspberry, dark cherries, hawthorns, flowers, dried herbs, cedar and potty earth. Medium bodied, medium-high acidity, medium tannin, medium structure, medium alcohol and medium finish. Elegant and balanced. Could definitely smell and taste the Rousseau signature notes; however, wine lacked depth and intensity.
A fabulous village wine but the quality did not justify the astronomical price. Unfortunately, most of the bottle cost went to pay for the label instead of the wine.

Forest floor and berries, barnyard, some rubber, with air more strawberry jam in a cool and nice way. Quite slender. Still fresh and juicy with nicely integrated structure.
In a very nice place now for the freshness but will develop nicely in the cellar. I would drink it now.

Vivacious bouquet w. barnyard, forrest berries, mint, toast and mushrooms. With air comes strawberries and other more jammy notes. Incipient maturity but still juicy freshness, good acidity and minerality. Reduced a bit on the berries in favour of sous bois and some vanilla-like spice and hints of herbs. Long finish. Holds the youthfull freshness now but can be kept for more maturity. Long life ahead.

Savory aromas of meat, dried florals and black cherry. Lovely smooth cherry fruit with bright, juicy acidity. Nicely meaty and spicy throughout. Flavorful if a little less concentrated than usual in this vintage. At peak and should hold at this level for 5-10 years.

Flott nese med sunn frukt og spice. I munn er det litt røffere kanter. Fremstår ganske smal - trenger å modne frukten litt, for å få inn litt mer sødme og fylde. Vi er ikke så langt unna - 2-3 år kanskje.

Pale ruby, with significant browning and fading at edges. Pronounced nose, with medium ripe red cherry aromas, red florals, some moss, and a hint of nutmeg. Soft textures, acids mouthwatering, some alcohol heat at the back, and red floral and red cherry flavours, as well as moss, cedar, nutmeg, and hint of forest undergrowth. Quite a long finish and fairly complex. Good!

Really fleshy, red cherry w spice notes. Signature Rousseau airiness/weightlessness. Absolutely not worth current prices at $200+/bottle but very tasty nonetheless.

The 2013 Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin village is a blend of Les Crais, Creux Brouillard, En Champs, Les Cercueils, Clos Prieur Haut and Bas, La Marie and Estournelles St. Jacques. It offers a pretty and delicate bouquet, a forward village wine that is polished and gentle. Great concentration in the context of a village wine from 2013. Lifted nose of whole cluster floral scents, fresh red berries, rose petals and sweet red berries. Drink now to 2028. (88/100)

A little reductive and tight initially but opened up quickly. In terms of nose/flavor profile, I’d say Jeremy Holmes’ note from 4/9/16 is spot on. Drinking well now but will continue to age well. Fantastic village wine.

Juicy red & black fruit alongside a spicy stemminess. Nice transparency, impressive weight, exemplar village Gevrey. Good now but better with time to integrate the stems.

Pnp. Served quite cold. Pours a watery garnet red in the glass. Nose and palate show crisp and crunchy tart red fruits and plenty of soil. Midpalate was hollow and watery seemingly suffering from the lack of air and serving temp. Didn't show any Gevrey characteristics in the short time I spent with it. Would like to come back and revisit this in 5 years to see if there is any improvement. Hold.

Took about 45 minutes to open up. Nose has blackberry and black cherry with pronounced aniseed. Palate is leaner but approachable and full of black fruit and meat notes. Good energy. Transparently Gevrey.

3 Clos St. Jacques and 3 Rousseau's + 1 Dujac = 6 wines tasted blind: N. 2 Darker fruit than the previous one, in an elegant expression, even though the oak is felt and covers the rest. Balanced and centered, dark, lively, with a spicy touch. Tannins from oak. Me: 1 Group: 9

Clos Saint Jacques Perspective (Chez Gilberto): Reduction obscures the wine for the first 10 minutes but it blows off and reveals a slightly spicy, slightly oaky wine which is very floral red fruit. Cardamon and peonies mix with a subtle note of stems in a wine which is relatively approachable with a well defined but pleasantly agreeable structure.

SLDS June 2016 #2 (Mamak): Cherry, ash, rhubarb, strawberry on the nose - open and nice red fruit purity here. The palate is very approachable, there is fantastic balance between the spice, earth and fruit. Really fine tannins. Very comfortable wine.

Saftig frukt i anslaget. Lett og fin i steget - For meg er dette meget elegant. Medium+ konsentrasjon med fin friskhet. Bra lengde med finkornede tanniner. Deilig!

It has such a vibrant and fresh nose of cherry, pomegranate and violets. In the mouth it is like biting down on fresh red fruits. There’s some earthy things lurking in the background and it is so silky with a crisp mineral finish.

Latterlig bra Village! 95p Et par ekstra poeng bare for den nesen.😊

Starts off with a wierd mix of matchsticks and barnyard. Gone after 10 minutes of decanting. Opens beautifully with a cool and precise fruit. Dark spices underlying throughout. Velvet and fresh. Tannins give a good structure while staying smooth as puppy fur.
Bright color. The tight nose shows aromas of high toned red fruits, minerals, earth and a hint of flowers. This is medium bodied on the palate with good concentration and good class. Nice style. The medium plus length finish features slightly earthy tannins.

2015 Tasting at Domaine Armand Rousseau: A lovely nose of red cherry, plum and a little cranberry. On palate, a mix of red and black berries, with a suggestion of minerals. More freshness than the '14, with lovely bright acidity. I preferred the '13 over the '14 for this reason. To me, the '13 had similar fruit weight and concentration to the '14, but the '13 had better focus and definition. Hold for a minimum of three years. 90.

Very fruity palate with cherry, blueberry and dusty tannins in the back.
