Good wine, not too old to be enjoyed, although the fruit flavors have very much died down, if they were there to begin with. Making this very savory. I had this after an hour decanting with a juicy steak, which paired pretty well. Grew on me as I drank it.
Medium garnet color. Quite a strong capsicum & asparagus nose, plus a mineral, pencil lead aroma.
Good structure. Medium plus acid and tannins, although the tannins are very silky and coat the whole mouth. Flavor matches the nose. A little bit of blackberry. Medium+ body and finish.

Surprised this was still drinking but I guess we do tend to probably think second wines should be drunk young just because they supposedly can be (or are sold as such...) loads of fruit and decent acidity. A little too fruit forward and not reminiscent of the grand vin. Decent balance not much finish but I wouldn’t rush to buy it again and certainly would rather spend £115 on a different bottle of something at noble rot.

Unmistakeable Pauillac nose. Dark fruit. Good texture and lovely balance. Drinking well now with food, not quite the baby LB I expect in a strong vintage, but a good wine and very easy to drink.

Meh. This wine didn't do it for me. Drank about 1/3 the first day, and another 1/3 a day later. Too bitter and acidic for my tastes. I expected more from a 2000 Bordeaux that got decent ratings on release.
I have one more bottle and will probably open it up soon before it really becomes undrinkable.

Decanted and started immediately at room temperature. Perfumed berry nose and strong fruit on the palate, much better than previous bottle. Held up well over three hours with standard Pauillac dried fruit and leather. Tannins still young. Joyous.

Delicious. Ready to drink - this bottle was in perfect drinking zone. Ruby-Violet colored, very little bricking around the edge. Decanted off moderate sediment. Aromas of cassis, vanilla and molasses. Flavors of both chewy black currant and more liquid cassis, coffee, and vanilla, with notes of lead pencil, mint and molasses. Medium to full body, polished texture, long finish.

Last of my purchase and while it could go a few more years, doesnt seem likely to improve and depending on style preference, you should decide. This one had a restrained nose but elegant aspects of mature red fruits combined with interesting lanolin like palate sensation. Served with grilled beef it was a great companion and by the last sip was on the lean side. Decanted and consumed over about a 2 hour period.

This bottle wasn't flawed in any way I recognized - not corked, not sherried, no acetone volatility. But both the nose and mouth were dominated by an unpleasant and distracting mulch scent. Couldn't get passed it. Shame

Two hour decant. Very Pauillac nose of pencil shavings, cedar tree, cinnamon and cranberry. Continued to open in the glass as it came up to room temperature. Under-ripe brambly blackberries in the mouth. Still tannic, short-medium finish. Nothing remarkable but if you're a fan of Pauillac you'll be pleased enough.

I had this after a '99 Gloria. Gave it about half an hour in the decanter and drank. Compared to the Gloria the fruit was more pronounced and both purple and red fruits came through on the palate. A well balanced wine which was well received by my guests on the night!

After 2 hours decanted and paired with a great steak, this wine was classic Bordeaux. As it evolved in decanter and glass it got richer and had an incredible spicy finish that hasn't been there before. Great mature fruit with leather and cigar box with a rich evolving spicy finish. One left and I will wait longer as now the 2000 vintage is showing how great it had the potential to be.

On openning - Nose: Full pauillac nose. Blackfruit, some tannin. A 91 to 92 nose. Palette - tannin overwhelmed the fruit. Also some initial off tastes. So, needs abit of decant time. 87 on openning. After 30 minutes decante: Nose- less fruit, more tannin. So nose closed up abit with 30 minutes decant. Palette - abit less tannin, but palette is nothing special at all. So 89 overall. Disappointing

The first thing I noted upon decanting and then pouring into the glass is this is claret - such a beautiful jewel-like color. Great nose of cigar box leather and red fruits. On the palate, very smooth and delivers a nice diversity of fruit and leather with a slightly tannic finish thats well balanced. I plan to wait another year or more on the others, but 1-2 hours decanted showed it still evolving in the right direction.

still almost purple. drank on second night as Cecile opened it up the night prior. soft in the mouth. round and relatively rich. fruit and oak driven with good balance. sweetness is the main trait. classic left bank nose of cedar, cigar box and dark fruits. medium mid-palate length and medium to long finish. probably with 3 years of its peak. excellent example of 2000.

I tried this when it was very young in 2003 but I was unmoved. But most 2000s were way too wound up for me. I hoped this had evolved and it most certainly did. It still needs a little decant but after about 60 minutes it is ready to roll. Leather and fruit on the nose. All night I enjoyed the earthy and fruity aromatics. This wine is showing great balance. I like how it is currently drinking because there is still lots of fresh fruit but the tannins are resolving and in sync. Nice long finish.

Bordeaux Petits Chateaux 2000 @ my place (Netherlands): Thought this nose was a bit coarse and cumbersome: cardboard, cabbage, rosehip, quite a lot of oak, but luckily, there was also some nice coffee and leather hints. Lovely fruit, black currants and spice on the finish. Initially quite tannic. Then the wine shut down (for about an hour), after which it really blossomed, and showed well. I think this will drink better with another 6-12 months of age.

At Montrachet (New York) – no formal note. Pure deep garnet; exotic, Pauillac nose. Black currents and worcestershire sauce. A baby Lynch Bages for sure. Drinking perfectly this evening – ripe, full, layered, classic. I don’t believe I am overestimating this wine (18) – really this good – drink over the next 5 years. Worth a search to buy as it should be very well priced.

Tasted in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle provided by Mike Stewart. Bright disc. Opaque purple robe with purple rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of coffee, currants, vanilla and underbrush. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, firm tannins and similar flavors as for the nose. Medium, slightly dry finish.
