Quite savoury on the nose, red berries and sous bois. Salty and floral. High toned palate, more savoury and red berry fruit, and it leaves you with a prickly sensation in the mouth. Profile is quite lean, sharp acidity, very light in weight/body. I quite like this, although I don’t think the leanness and profile would be ideal for those who prefer richer/rounder wines. In the zone now and I don’t see this getting any better with further age.

12.5% alcohol. S 100%. Short cork, pretty dense. Medium colour with definite thinning at the rim. The nose is refined with mostly red berries followed by some forest floor; so far so good. High pitched in the mouth (cranberries) with substantial acidity, and generally not as satisfying as on the nose; clearly a Northern CdR, as you would expect. A pretty good wine, especially given its low status, but I would go for J-L's l'enclave any day.

WSET Teaching Level 4 for Northern Rhone (Stellenbosch): From northern Rhone so Syrah dominated. Light+ crimson Notable feral-dominated bouquet showing fresh earth, raw meat, animal, smoke alongside peppercorns and dark fruit. A sharp acidity yet sappy juiciness to the wine, there is clear stem inclusion. There is a savoury gloss to the flavours with spice and white pepper. A fresh, exciting wine with more suppleness as it unfolds and sandpaper tannins on a medium finish.

Not unlike the Cote Rotie from the same vintage, this is finessed, elegant and on the lighter, Burgundian side. Floral with marks of meat broth and olives, bright acidity provides freshness, this is ready to go and quite a delicious drink now.

We enjoyed this with steak. A leaner year than the 2012 which is quite good This one still young and needs a few years. Will likely never be up to 2012 standard but I expect this will improve over a few years. Good now with rich food but better with a few more years in cellar. Pepper, light red berry.

Decanted. A fairly light nose with spice and crushed red berries. Fresh and smooth palate, elegant, but a bit too polished? Lacking sense of this being a Syrah and lacking a sense of terroir. Light version of this wine, a touch too lean also. Short finish.

Nice experience, 2015 slightly better then 2014. Great balance and complexity. The wine has a pallet of licorice, wood, and spicey notes, but still a fresh fruitiness. Strawberries, both on toungh and nose. The tannin structure are really smoth and delicate. Love the aftertaste, goes on for ever. Looking foreward to enjoy this over the coming years.

Delicious and quite smooth after an hour in the decanter. Not overly complex but very pleasing, rose petals, currants, all the typical good stuff. Kept opening up throughout night.

This is very tasty still; needs a bit of time to open up, then reveals lovely violet, savory meat and spice, and lots of brambly dark fruit. Palate has lovely balance and energy and good depth for the level. Very good.

This is really good Cotes du Rhone juice. This is basically a baby Cote Rotie and a great example of the Jamet style. The nose is classic Rhone Syrah. Meaty, savory, olive, dark fruits, violet, crushed rock, and hints of pepper. The palate is fresh and delicious. Certainly doesn't have the depth and power of their Cote Rotie, but for a Cotes due Rhone level it has great energy, good depth, and structure to definitely age for 5+ years. I will buy this anytime I can find it.

12.5% alcohol. Short dense cork. Medium colour. Fresh fragrant nose of red berries. The mouth is in a similar vein, with a slight tongue-tingling sensation (this is not a negative, and actually my good wife picked that up first). This is a bright and energetic CdR, balanced somewhat like a Beaujolais, but with more weight than most of those. Hard to compare to other CdR, as the 100% Syrah is quite uncommon; a better comparison is with Croze-H and the present wine is clearly of the same family, tending to the less austere side. A repeat purchase.

Came together around 2h of decant. Juniper, dark flowers, some red berries, pepper and hints of blood on the nose. Dark berries, juniper and pepper on the palate. The peppery pierce the palate for minutes. Delicate and fine balance. No tartness. Delicate tannins. Very good balance. 90-91p.

Frisk, saftig syre. Milde, modne, svakt tørrende tanniner. Flott lengde med preg av mørke bærtoner.

Needs some air time. Not so good right after opening - but was decent on the second day. Nice simple clean syrah fruit. Medium to full bodied. Not as intense or complex as some bottles I've had from earlier vintages, but still good value.

Juicy, lively and fruity Syrah. Cracked pepper, spicy. A bit on the lean side, a child of the vintage. Probably for short-term drinking, a good bistro wine.

Another enjoyable bottle; feral, wild brambly fruits, smoke, and crushed stone. Still drinking well and there does not seem to be any rush.

Similar to my prior bottles; delicious and good value to try a great producer. I think blind I guess this as young Cote Rotie.
