Disgorged 19 June 2014. Fine bead pale gold, doughy nose dominates with hint of citrus green apple, grapefruit and mineral palate, v dry, great length. With years to go. A food wine.

Everything I want in a Champagne of this caliber. Clearly from a great vintage. Just enough acidity and complexity. I'm certainly a fan of this producer.

Casual champagnes: Took time to get going. On opening this didn’t show well, I thought this was from a weaker vintage from the muddled fruit. After aeration, some green apple fruit began to show but didn't really ever have the laser acidity or cut that I expected from a 2008.

Popped and poured and this bottle was terrific. Soaring bread notes on the nose. Great texture backed by mineral notes on the palate. I wish I had more.

After a bottle of the Confidence, this is back to the more streamlined, less flamboyant style. Still plenty of fruit though, with good chalk and length. Better than a 2008 Dom Perignon drank the next night. Count me as a big fan of Vergnon.

Adios, Ripple! (Ripple - Washington, DC): Another killer bottle of this stuff. Nose of chalk powder, saline, sour apples and biscuits. Brisk, tart, vibrant, bracing, but also deep and packed with flavor. Toasted nuts and biscuits mix with green apples and white cherries, lots of minerals. So good, and getting better.

Typical BdB, a lot of refreshing acidity, austere, but for a young Le Mesnil champagne a lot of ripe fruit, good length and deepness, I think it will reach its top in 5-10 years, 92-93

Small Gathering w/ Indian Food: Such a vibrant and intense wine - I'd love to taste this in ten years. That said, it offers so much immediate pleasure. Nervy, salty, pithy, tart, this wine displays a crazy amount of minerals. But plenty of toasted nuts and biscuit elements as well. This wine was a big hit, and I'm going to have to buy more for the cellar.

very young, still at the beginning, mainly grapes from oger, for this reason more fullbodied than confidence from Le Mesnil. A lot of minerality, citrus zest are dominating, green apple, a hint of brioche, very fresh long finish, pure, after two getting better and better. 2008 is one of my favorite vintages

Double Blind Tasting w/ DC Crew (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Lively and tart green fruit aromas but plenty of biscuit crust. Crisp, bright, clean, tart, but interwoven flavors of caramel apple and toasted biscuit. Minerals long on the finish. Young but very pretty.

Not blind
A lush expression for this village due to the vinatge. Great acidity and well balanced. Could be drier. 93

Very good quality champagne, yet somehow I expected more. But can't quite put my finger on what it is I'm missing..
