Champagnes at Chaoshan: At a better stage of development than two years ago while still retaining its freshness. Sweet and ripe, slightly exotic fruit still predominant. Balanced and rich for the vintage but just missing the incisiveness of better years.

others loved it and found it to have the richness of Meursault, in sparking form, but to me it was too reduced and/or sulfurous to enjoy. I had to donate the remainder of my glass to my tablemate.

Cult Grower Champagne (Shinzo Sushi): Disgorged April 2015, pale gold lemon, reductive notes which lingers even after sitting in the glass. Red apple, lemon, touch smokey, rich on the palate much more integrated compared to the Suenen in the same flight. Fine mousse typical of his style with high acidity. Salty long finish with lots of delicate flavours. This is the kind of champagne to savour slowly over a meal for one to enjoy and develop.

Mainly Bordeaux at SSG: Had the usual Bouchard signature of the interplay between ripe fruits and low dosage. Agree with the friend who brought this that this is his best cuvee but unfortunately this didn't transcend the vintage. Very good still but missing the tension and cut of better vintages.

Exceptional bottle of wine. Thought I was taking the Ursules from the cellar but picked this one instead by mistake. Rich but not cloying and incredibly pure. Long, so precise. Could drink this all night.
The Vinous note (79/100) is almost funny.

not blind, disg. 2015 Beautiful bdb from the aube. This is more burgundy than champagne. A touch of roasted nuts and honey but lovely integrated to the sublime acidity. In a lovely drinking window. Cedric makes a miracle from tjis difficult vintage. 96

Lutefisk and BYO: Blind. Green and yellow apples, some grapefruit; very good grip, fairly low dosage (?), long, structured and promising, still some complexity emerging in the finish.

Second bottle we’ve tasted, really did not like this. Has a weird meaty and fungal taste. Possible that it’s the set of bottles we bought, but I’m not sure how storage would cause that

Tightly coiled! Citrus/apple/ smoky mineralite on the nose, intense line rind on the palate, pineapple after several hours. Quite searing acidity and very persistent. My remaining bottles are going to have a long sleep in the cellar, or at least I'm going to try to keep my hands off them.

NFN: Absolutely love this bottle. A bit savory on the nose and palate with tiny bubbles.

Ripe apple on the nose and a lean but balanced mineral-laden palate. Opened up a ton over the evening! Bouchard hits the spot!

Tasting, brief note. My favorite of the lineup. Apple with toast hints and very good length.
