so this is the 3rd of my 4 375s I've had. goddam is this wine great, there is something to be said for subtle elegance. the nose was actually relatively quiet but as I've read some other notes that's generally expected. fruit, slate, baked lemons and lemon jello. no petrol but notes of petroleum products (new sneakers/flip flops which I found pleasant) the acid is truly zippy, it feels like it vibrates on the tongue. I don't really see this improving I think its in a perfect spot, but admittedly I don't have enough experience to confidently say wether or not it would. 10ish years has done this great, even in 375 format. drink because life is good and what's the use in waiting.

Insane with Flannery jorge and miss matched new york. Perfect pairing. Tons of fresh acidity to cut through the heavy umami and richness of the Flannery, but delicate enough to let all the nuance of the individual come through clearly, not gonna happen with a fruit bomb boomer steakhouse cab. Pineapple, lemon, mango, guava, apricot, honeycomb, almost sparkling acidity, absolutely beautiful.
One of several left from the questionable Ed purchase, cork was soaked all the way through and had clearly leaked, smelled like roten wine upon capsule removal, cork came out fine without durand. Thankfully, extra light-white golden color and spritzy mouthfeel, got better and better with more air.
Never underplay the ‘secret’ best pairing of proper steak and extremely high quality off dry Riesling.

Popped and poured at cellar temp (54 degrees F), this announced itself in a classic style, with measured sweetness, brisk acidity, and a cool, zippy finish. The fruit stays in the green and yellow zones, and there’s a little bit of sugar coating, like dusting a slice of lime with powdered sugar. The aftertaste heads towards yellow grapefruit, without ever veering into bitter territory. This feels and tastes like Kabinett, even if it’s objectively big for what that pradikat meant in the early 1990s.

From .375 purchased at Last Bottle Winter Marathon. There was leakage on this bottle. It still tasted ok, but compared to some of the recent stellar bottles from Ludes and Steinmetz it tasted flat and unimpressive.

Textbook fine Wehlener! And that delicacy, floral bouquet and mineral base are just emerging nicely. This is the time to begin drinking the JJP kabinetten, especially in a vintage Ike 2014. Unfolded as it should, with hints of lemongrass, green topical fruit and wildflowers. Restrained, young but very very nice. No hint of petillance from their CO2 nuggets any more.

Showing well right out of the bottle No reduced notes Initially, green-herbal aromas, followed by mineral notes, beeswax, apricot. After an hour in the decanter, the apricot became more subdued and was replaced by more lime aromas with subtle smoke. The overall impression from the nose is green-herbality likely reflecting the 2014 vintage, more minerality than fruit, and the beginning of savoury notes. The wine is in a great spot now as the tertiary notes of age are beginning to peak through the primary fruits Medium body Closer to dry than off-dry (reminded me of feinherb levels of perceptible sweetness). Some tartness. Racy acids Excellent length At a great stage in its evolution now, and likely for next 5 years

Fairly good though a bit more time certainly needed to edge some of the sweetness. Maybe a touch simple but may give a bit more shortly. Very enjoyable as these WS Prums invariably are.

Très long...excellent.

Fresh and sweet, with enough oomph to hold up to thai food. Not as much secondary flavors today as there will be later but that won't stop me from drinking these sooner than later.

Delecious wine and will get better with age. Medium intensity nose of pear lemon and white peach, developing hints of petrol. Superb acidity to balance the light to medium sweetness. Had it with spicy sushi rolls and another time with Cajun grilled fish.

Drank this with Chinese food at our Yankee/Astro game 7 dinner. Nice refreshing riesling for geeks and non-geeks. Good price. I paid $29, and still have a bottle left for 2022. Not an Oh My wine, but light color and delicious. Some minerals. Sweetness, but not over the top. A perfect pairing.
Was this thought producing? No. Was it enjoyable? 100% yes. Earlier in the week I drank a 2010 Adam Hofberg Riesling Troken. In no way are the two comparable. ;) Drink or hold. I'd even bring the 2014 to an offline.

Nice nose of yellow apple, white flowers, hint of honey... More sweet, yellow and green apples, nice freshness, good minerality. Like all the Wehlener Sonnenuhr wines this wine is pretty closed when young, but has probably the biggest ageing potential of Kabinett range... To retaste in 10 years! (90+/100)

I love anything by jj Prum and this is no exception. Bright, balanced, with lime, limestone, candied fruits and the perfect amount of acid for a Kab. A great Prum to drink now while you let your Spätlese sit a few more years.

JJ Prum - 2014 range tasting with Katharina Prum: Plenty of musk, chalk, lemon, orange rind and apple - the nose continues to open up while in the glass and it ends up quite pretty and aromatic. There is a little more ripeness apparant here than in the 2014 GH Kabinett, while maintaining the same cutting acid line and feeling a little more balanced as a result. Has good depth and super length behind it. An excellent youthful showing.

2014 JJ Prum Horizontal (Chicago, IL): Nose: The nose is balanced and fresh with nectarines, peaches, limes, slate notes, and white fruits. There is medium depth with the nose being open-knit and clean.
Taste: Medium- bodied with medium+ acidity. The acidity is crisp with the feel being lithe and demure backed up with nectarines, peaches, limes, and slate tones.
Overall: This is an excellent Kabinett. It shows off a clean and balanced side with an enticing freshness.

2014 Joh. Jos. Prüm (Chicago, IL): #07-15, 8% abv. The WS Kabinett is a much more well-rounded and complete bottle of riesling in comparison to the pointy and somewhat ornery GH. This has an alluring scent of marzipan on the nose, while the palate features a lot of restrained white fruit. Again not too sweet, this is along the lines of what I imagine modern feinherb to be (all this said, my palate is geared towards the sweeter side of things). The heat and angular acid doesn't stick out as much here, and that definitely makes for a much better wine.

A bright, fresh, and clean nose that leads to a wine with a beautiful balance of acid, fruit, sugar and soil. This really comes together into something great. There are plenty of layers to this wine, but what impresses is that everything seems to come together into a seamless whole. Fresh and bright on entry and finishes with cooler herbal almost basil like back notes. This is detailed and focused with a lacy texture and a sense of weightlessness. Razor sharp, clean, and terribly refreshing. It floats on your palate. A rare bird, true Kabinett. 92
