Easy drinking, pure riesling. Plenty of ripe tree fruit, citrus zest, powdered stone, a touch of reduction. Nice firm acid and very gentle sweetness. No great concentration or length but this goes down so easy. Drink or hold. Screwcap.

Snappy little wine. Drank with a spicy Indonesian curry and it fit perfectly. The nose was sweet fruits and citrus. Palate is off-dry with white floral notes and a nice bit of acidity. This is a wine made for food.

Interesting story behind this wine, supposedly from Auslese level grapes but vinified to 'medium dry' with 11.5% abv. Smells sweet, pixie stick and candied pear nose. With air lots of slate and rainwater on rocks too. Apple and pears and citrus in the mouth. It doesn't have the tension and airy weightlessness that I love in better MSR Rieslings. Still, minerals and some pretty fruit for $12 is not too bad. Very drinkable.

a really nice intro riesling, very well put together, with a slight tropical (banana, cocunut) note, good length, nice fruit/acid balance, long finish. hard to beat for ten bucks and change.

11.5%. Initially this had a very weird sour, sort of beer-like nose and was pretty off-putting. After 1/2 glass i put it back in the fridge. But on night #2 it's surprisingly nice and pure with a friendly nose of lime and lanolin. Lightweight rainwater texture on the palate with only a hint of sweetness and almost laserlike acid supporting very pure, clean flavors of green apple, lime/citrus oils, with something like fresh strawberry on the 15+ sec finish. This is going to sound foolish, but i could almost imagine i was drinking a Touraine Sauvignon (eg. Clos Roche Blanche). Great QPR at $12, and almost too quaffable.

David Bowler Fall Tasting (LONG) (NY, NY): last note i had (from may) - rough, needs time. now its much more together, lemon nose, lots of citrus in the middle, clean, lacks a bit of the acidity laser but good green apples and a light crisp finish. very nice and a QPR. drink now attitude.

Light, austere Riesling with minerals and racy citrus in off-dry Kabinett style. I prefer their Kabinett.

A little spritz, lime slate apple nose, lots of minerals. Nice bottle, good match with sauteed shrimp and Walla Walla sweet onions.

Sweet tart nose with more slate than prior bottles. Still pretty spritzy. Green apple and citrus rind, malty finish. Nice quaffer.

Almost fizzy. Very light with peach and melon notes. Medium-dry. Bottle label mentions a 'core of steel' or somesuch. I can see that.

David Bowler Spring 2007 Portfolio Tasting (New York City): Light lemon color. Nose of green apple, spice and minerality. On the palate this presents a little closed; quite close to dry with medium body.

Crisp and acidic. A tad cloying.

Same description as before. Much drier than the Richter and Fritz Haag we had that night. But very enjoyable nonetheless.

Crisp and minerally, but could use some time. Still quite quaffable, however.
