93 vvPunkte www.vvwine.ch

For an appellation wine, this is punching near 1er Cru level given its notable intensity. This is super fresh and lively. Perhaps the DIAM closure has kept the evolution here at a minimum, which gives the impression of a more recent vintage (would’ve guessed 2019 if not for a slight whisper of oxidation once it gets going in the glass with some swirling). A small sample of this remained on day two and it was still kicking out almost Chablis-esque tension. A wine to hold with confidence for a few years but drinking solid now.

Duck, duck, abortion!; 11/11/2023-11/17/2023: Fresh and crisp white stone fruits with a bit of starfruit skins on the nose. Tall, green grass and wet soil. The nose reminded me a lot of a sauvignon blanc.
The palate showed bitter freshness with a good weightiness on the palate. Nice white fruits to the palate but seemed heavily washed, making the fruit flavors a bit light and almost airy. These fruits trail into the finish, along with some bitter minerals.

BYO Litteraturhuset (Litteraturhuset i Oslo): Lys strågul. Intens, moden duft. Fabelaktig god kommunevin!

Aromas of lime, mineral, slate and touch of saline. Flavors of lime, touch of apple, mineral and smoke. Ends with Smokey mineral finish of 25+ seconds. Impressive stuff.

Great village level Puligny. Fantastic purity and minerality. Complexity and depth of Premier Cru. Another amazing value for white Burg in a Beaune restaurant.

well done for a village P/M, but not sure the QPR is above average at $130 / 75cl btl... interesting that I noted that this was the last bottle of Domaine Leflaive in my cellar... how did that happen???

late drink (after half time of super bowl), so no notes and little memory, but one thing we (Joe and I) both said was that this was nice... more rounded out than the '14 Girardin PM village (which I liked a lot too) and than the Billaud-Simon '14 Vaillons, really nice to drink with lift and luxury at the same time (a feat in wine making)

this was good but I think with good research you can more for the $130 price tag, straight forward puligny profile but with less tension and acidity than I would have expected -- not rich or over-bearing but not the tension I expect from Leflaive in P/M (even villages)... a little surprised by this given it is '14... I would suggest this is an early drinker

Burgundy, Rhone, Provence Trip; 9/3/2018-9/15/2018 (Burgundy, Rhone, Provence, France): Light gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 2 hours. Ordered off the list at La Dilettante in Beaune. Really another excellent showing for this wine. Very consistent with my previous note. Pristine white fruits, oak toast, medium body, crisp and juicy acidity, fine minerality and just a ine of finesse. 91+pts.

I know, very high score for a village level wine. But it was simply fantastic. Sheer elegance and weightlessness. Utterly balanced basket of lemon, honey, minerality, white flowers, integrated oak, matchstick, gun powder. Just wonderful.

Puligny-Montrachet: lemon, gunpowder/minerals, spicy and tight wine; good grip -- and mouth weight, long, lovely acidity and a very very fine finish. Surprisingly fresh, potential. Rating for now.

I've been less than wowed by many Domaine Leflaive wines, even some of the big gun ler Crus but this btl tonight caught my fancy and made me a believer. At least, in this particular btl from the 2014 vintage. This btl again proves my theory, after much research, that you can drink exceedingly well at the village Puligny Montrachet level :). The old Louis Carillon estate used to make one of my favorite village PMs. This might end being a new substitute for that now extinct wine with the split up. For me this was licking at the heels of 93pts tonight. Might need a little oak integration but dam this was balanced, tasty and intriguing. I never would have bought one of these for myself but its on my list now. Only thing that might put the breaks on that is the tariff attached to this estate. Doubt this is a sub $60 village PM. Thanks Lonny for the Lonny karma effect! 92+/93-

So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodnight: A Night to Remember (Capitalle Grille, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. Very good already and though youthful it is very approachable - much more so than the '12 and '14 of Jacques Carillon PM a week ago. This had a lean white fruit, melon, lightly toasted oak barrel, on the finish. Very elegant and balanced style. Top notch village wine - as one might expect.

rather restrained citrus smelling and tasting wine with a lot of potential. Not as much oak as before which adds to feeling of the high acidity of the 2014 vintage. Really enjoyable.

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Medium golden to the eyes.
Very good density of citrus fruits like grapefruits on palate, cool breeze reduction that does not bother, toasty oak. White florals.
Great acidity and minerality as expected from this pedigree and vintage.
Still have a long way to go in my view. 94 points easy.
Second round, about 1.5 hour since first opened: more reduction with extra lifting golden citrus fruits. Mouth-coating acidity.
Third round, about 2.5 hours since first opened: Integrated on palate. 94 points solid and start to be enjoyable.
