Perfect vintage for such a great wine. Moderate lemon in the glass. Nose is open and ready for business straight off the bat - Meyer lemon, lime juice, peach, green melon, sea salt, hints of lees. Beautifully elegant body with an incredible freshness. An acidity that brightens up all the fruit in this wine. Balanced, fine and sexy. A great drop.

2019 Louis Michel etc. (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Interesting note of ginger (and no, it wasn't the gari because I don't eat it) on the nose here. Intense herbal notes. Nice minerality but an oddly rounded, oily texture that made me think this was something from a really ripe, but older vintage, because the fruit just wasn't as fresh. Others liked this more than I did.

First bottle was all wet wool and sea spray. This bottle shows less age and is focused much more on the fruit - apple, pear, peach, honey. After a while open it started loosing its steely palate and became creamy. Lovely!

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light gold -mild reduction sweet lemon -med+ acidity, med- weight lemony grapefruit citrus shell surrounds a lovely mineral core that leaves an intense residue on the long finish, not a trace of oxidation -just fantastic in Dauvissat style, on its prime drinking plateau now and no sign of imminent decline, about as good as you can get for village level Chablis

91 pts

My first taste of anything Dauvissat which I kept around for a few extra years to soften the edges. Still vibrant, it has some pretty little subtleties but moves and dances less than I hoped it might.
Not to suggest there aren't things to appreciate. Smokey stone, and oyster shell, cool to the touch. Apple core and pear accents, and florals. Electric sour lemon starfruit with a bitter grapefruit finish.
Delicious, but it'll disappear without much noise into a memory bank of equally good Chablis at half the price.

Yes!

A wonderfully intense mineral, crushed rock, sea salt nose infiltrated with white plum, Royal Gala apples, yellow-green lemons, and ginger/galangal. (you can smell the waves crashing into the cliff face!) Exhilarating acidity (of 2014) that is vertical throughout the wine is filled with orchard fruits, baked apple with a smear of honey, porridge oats, chalk dust and lemon peel. There is some underlying richness, but more so the bracing mineral-edged acidity gives serious linearity. Bone dry, the wine excites with its apples in storage bins and that tidal pool, saline feel. Super smart for a regular Chablis! As the evening wore on some of the honey gave a little more evolution to the wine that detracted.

A lovely chablis with a combination of the stony , coup de fusil impression, a balanced taste with lovely citrus and a kind of juicy aftertaste, but also a warning: in the background there is a hint of caramel that shows the age of the wine. So, it is my advice to drink your remaining bottles and enjoy them soon!

I've had many bottles of this wine in the past, and it seemed to always be in awkward place over the years, sometimes showing its oak excessively, especially when young. This bottle, however, was excellent and seems to be right in the zone currently. Enjoyed over three nights with no degradation. It began with a burst of acidity and minerals and then settled into a cool, clean, brisk palate with just a hint of that vanilla creme that Dauvissat can show. Lovely wine. Judging from this, the 1ers should be outstanding.

Very good match with oysters. Saline notes and a medium to long aftertaste. A bit closed nose but good wine nevertheless had better ones from this producer. Still a lot of potential so probably in a somewaht closed moment.

Lovely nose, tangerine, white peach, lemon blossom and a bit of wood, youthful, nice weight in the mouth, plenty of zip and zest, multiple waves of flavour gets the saliva going with an excellent long finish for a villages Chablis. This should develop more but is lovely to drink now

Bottle was probably not perfect, something off and not the usual Dauvissat magic, even for a Villages. Had a few of that 2014 already and always a fantastic Villages usually, not this one so won’t mark it.

Pale yellow. Lemon pith and primordial algal aromas. Medium to light weight, a mere hint of wood. Zesty fresh citrus, brine, and soil. This was so vibrant and fresh that it could have been a barrel sample. Just what the doctor ordered for a refreshing, salty sip on a day of extreme heat and too much smoke in the air to venture outside. These 2014's are the real deal for lovers of classic Chablis. None of the subsequent vintages have produced wines with similar cut.
Even more slimmed down the second night and now all about the underlying limestone and soil.
This bottle was magnificent; a super refined bouquet, lemon, stone and a whiff of mint continuing in the (after)taste. The concentration of a La Forest is more obvious, but this wine is nearly in the same league.

Drinking well but on the verge of uninteresting. Everything is classic but it feels at a plateau or slight downslope. Bought 6 of these on release and was hoping for more complexity (given the producer and vintage) up to year 10 but might have to drink these sooner rather than later. All good today but feels like window is starting to slowly close — less crisp oyster shell and sea breeze and more rounded bourgogne blanc. 4 more to go and crossing fingers.

90-91 pts

Back in shape (see my previous notes)! A chablis bouquet as a chablis bouquet has to be: a whiff of grass, vanilla, white fruit, and a steely/chalky impression that continues in the taste, not bone dry, ripe acidity and a very precise aftertaste; a copybook chablis.

High acid, which is to be expected for the vintage. But it was masking everything else. This wine was not giving, possibly mute, even after being open for 1h. May need some time.

Better than the previous time; now the bouquet is showing real depth and the stony profile of a good Chablis. One thing to keep this wine from 90 points: the acidity is a bit harsh and I think it won't disappear with time.

Some Sunday wines (Chicago, IL): Wax top. Really nice, with a surprisingly waxy palate and a slightly slick texture that is cut nicely by the acid. Lean and fairly tart fruits, with good acidity and chalkiness. Not too complex, but the structure is lovely.

FransS recent tasting note is as concise as it is to the point. A good, classic Chablis, but a bit dull at present. Assez bien, but not exciting. Maybe another year in bottle will shine more light on what this wine is capable of?

At the beginning a little closed but it opens finely after some time in the glass. Stone, citrus, ginger, green apples and a little bit gooseberry. Yoghurt-like acidity, sea salt and nice notes from oak without being overpowering. Not as much chalky minerality as aspected but a higher complexity instead. Will definately develop further in the cellar - I was just to curious.

Seven month after Xavier's tasting note I cannot add a lot to his note. The wine is very pure and and the ripe acidity makes the wine juicy. I (also) think this wine needs (at least) a year to blossom. Next wine to discover is the La Forest.

Drank at dinner party, no formal notes. This is good now but it has the potential to be spectacular with a few more years of bottle age. It took awhile to open up and eventually developed the nervous streak I love in Chablis. Nice citrus notes with a ton of limestone and flint. Would benefit from a 2 hour decant right now, but I'd hold it for awhile if I had some.

I took delivery of my small collection of Dauvissat 2014's a few weeks ago, and I couldn't resist trying a bottle of this one. At present it is remarkably supple and juicy, floral and rounded - no doubt there is some puppy fat hiding the minerality, and I can relate to Motz's Grenache Blanc association in his TN below; herbs and lemon, almost invisible wood, relatively ripe acidity, relaxed but not glib; good aromatic persistence on the finish. Not for the long term, but one or two years in bottle should improve precision and bring out the terroir expression. Drink 2017-2020.

Compliments of Bajayngo. Pungent bouquet, suggestive of what white currant and gooseberry distilled spirits might smell like, bramble, and white pepper. Rippin' acid, juicy, and intense. Focused and deep. The absence of seabed and chalk was very interesting. My double-blind guess was Grenache Blanc. 91-92.

Lovely. Perfect spot and showing true Chablis character and nice yellow fruit. Green tinge to color in glass. Especially nice at 50 euros off restaurant list, as it should be priced.

Taut, lean, lemon scented. Chalky tannin, mineral laden. Demands food. Disappeared pretty quickly. Always a good sign.

A little too young to observe but fun anyway. Simple and missing complexity at this stage. Needs a few more years in bottle. Lemon, saline and minerals. Great acidity, but missing some mid palate flavor I was looking for

Lovely young Chablis - light clear color, heady nose of truffley yeasty lemon lime. Refreshing bracing acidity on the palate.

Two Burgs and a Sauternes (Yono's Restaurant, Albany, NY): Pop n pour. Young and crisp with solid acidity. Should age well for several years. Tasty wine, esp. good with varied appetizers.

Entry level chablis.. 75 euro on the list at Arpege in Paris.
Delicious.. pairs perfectly with every dish until the last meat dish.
Light yellow, good minerality, with some pear, peach, and hints of green apple.
Yum

Ridiculous, RIDICULOUS basic Chablis. fine sea salt, sea spray, pale gold lees, clam shell nutmeg nose. Palate has a prominent, enjoyable cinnamon/nutmeg spice. good concentration but ethereal lightness. creme brulee finish. spot on.
