Surprisingly sweet compared to the 2014. Well into off-dry territory but still balanced. Needs more age to show those classic Riesling characteristics but still quite nice as a baseline taste of this wine in this vintage.

Quite enjoyable. Aromas of stonefruit, wet gravel, and a faint whiff of rubber. Initially the sweetness hits the palate, but peach, nectarine, grapefruit, and flowers quickly come through. Clean finish.

Good but simple. A notch less compelling than previous bottles, came across as flatter and less acidic. Maybe just in a closed down state per other reviews. Or maybe because it didn't compare well to a great Spatlese we had a couple nights before. Either way, will wait a while before opening another.

Despite many recent TNs with noting this seems a bit closed, I figured my pedestrian palate wouldn't care and it would be rather enjoyable. Rather not. Palate weight and sweetness feels more Spaetlese in nature, and the fruit, while there, is a bit monolithic and boring. I was also surprised that the acidity and minerality were rather muted. This is clearly a well-made wine, but seemingly closed. Hopefully this can make a rebound in say, 5-8 years. Very Good. Edit: Revisited this 5 days later and it is much better, with fruit on the front palate, some prominent acid on the back that balances the fruit, and finishing with a nice wash of minerals. Bodes well for the future. On this day it was Excellent.

Pnp. 91p.

This seemed rather closed in/ungiving for several hours. It eventually opened up, and some of that mid-palate complexity that comes with aged Kabinett started to creep in, but it was just around the edges. I suspect this really needs another couple of years to emerge from sleep. Lots of air can help, but cellar time is always better IMO.
This wine has only slightly budged in its evolution since release. After an hour in the glass to let it unfurl, there are wonderful aromas of petrichor, white peach, Bosc pear, and grapefruit, with subtle undertones of smoke and orange citrus. The palate is light and playful, but with a creamy texture, and an excellent balance of sweet orange fruit/orange creamsicle notes and tart grapefruit over a base of wet slate.
A spätlese in disguise, I think this will reach peak enjoyment in another 5-8 years. Regardless, it's still very delicious now.

Better showing than previous bottle about 2 years ago. Flowers and lime on the nose. Heavier and smoother on the palate. Decent acidity but probably less than other ‘15 Kabinetts opened so far. Honey and citrus. Sweetness 1.5/4. Decent drink but lacks the kick.

Still a very good Kabinett, typical Saar/Moselle. Acidity is now only medium-low and the sweetness is still pretty high in my opinion. Better wait at least 3 years.

Nice nose of citrus, green apple skin, wet stone and honey, palate feels more sweet than a usual kabinett, and acidity feels more medium with the green apple skin flavor popping on the finish, good but needs time

Can see why this was lauded as among the best to emerge from the 2015 vintage. Very nice at this stage, but expecting it to shed some of its youthful sweetness and gain a few added layers of complexity in 5-7 years. Potentially a 92+

Nose: actually got a bit of spice, tobasco, some pine, floral, cotton candy. A mixed bag. Palate: Much more standard riesling. white peach, pineapple, high acid, balances nice with the sweetness. Interesting.

Wow. Popped and poured, this wine is fresh, young and lovely. Bright, clean light yellow-gold and somewhat oily. Knockout nose juicy apple with just the right touch of wet wool to provide complexity. Dances on light feet across the palate, seems more like its gliding. Lovely balance; sweet but not cloying, plenty of pure fruit too. Has serious staying power and a really pretty, lengthy finish. Can’t wait to see how this evolves from here. Next bottle in 2021? 4-13-17-9: 93/100.

Wow! The acidity on the finish is bracing but what is really noticeable is the full, round middle palate of peaches with just a touch of spice. Finish is extra-long. I've been drinking many different 2015 German Kabinetts and I think this might be the most impressive one I've tried.

I tracked this over a couple of days: very citric nose of lime, grapefruit, mandarin, white grapes, honey, white flowers and slate. The palate is citric as well with lots of bright lime, grapefruit. The acid and the sweetness don't feel completely integrated, and a few days didn't help. Finish is kind of sharp with lime rind and lime. Good but not great. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5-5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15-15.5/20.

Similar to previous bottle 3 months ago, this wine seems to be lacking acidity. Fairly light and short finish too. Hmmmm....one of the weaker producer of '15 vintage, surprisingly given the reputation of the producer! Again this shows better on the 2nd day, a lot more vibrant but still does not have the length and structure of some other '15 Kabinetts.
Consistent with my previous bottle and generally spectacular. There is such a wide array of ripe fruit, juxtaposed by such great acid and underlying minerality that this goes down dangerously fast. Everything you could want in a Kabinett... unless you're looking for something trocken. Very hard to keep my hands off of these and I really wish I had bought a couple cases.

AP: 9 16. Six-pack was delivered today, opened after chilling in the wine fridge for 3 hours. Fantastic nose, floral and intense with a sweet tone. Fairly sweet for a Kabinett, probably need a bit more acidity. Honey, melons, and pineapples. Fairly easy going wine. ABV 7.5%. Sweetness 2/4. Keep a glass for the 2nd day, much better showing, vibrant and zesty acidity, very good!

Very floral, with an almost Muscat-like orange blossom note, and slightly waxy on the nose, along with the expected abundance of fruit and slate notes. There is such a wide diversity of orchard, stone and citrus fruits on the palate; with green apples, peach, apricot, lime, red grapefruit and tangerine being the most dominant. The fruitiness is balanced by fantastic acidity and a long finish that turns to a mouth watering salinity and wet stones. The balance of the fruit and acid make this nearly weightless and gives the wine a wonderful feminine quality. This is delicious right now, but should be long lived. This is a ton of wine for $26 and an absurd value.

Glass. Riedel Vinum Riesling From an impressive magnum bottle. Clear, pale yellow color. Medium+ intense, youthful beautiful nose, with lots of tropical fruits, white peach, ripe apple, slate. Off dry. The high amount of ripe and well integrated acidity perfectly balances the residual sugar. Wonderful to drink with only 7,5% abv. Like a butterfly! Drink now or wait at least 5+ years.
