Pop and pour, drank half the bottle over 2 hours. Full bodied from a sensory perspective and yet the palate is lifted and light. Refreshing, with flinty minerality and lemon oil.

Decanted for two hours. Under ripe pears, peaches, meyer lemon, ginger, praline, marzipan, butter and a hint of vanilla. Oak is there but it's pretty well integrated. Despite the oak, this wine is linear in that the flavors alternate and seem to tell a story. Good intensity of both flavors and aromas. Medium bodied, medium acid. Lovely structure.
Drinking like some very nice PC Meursault right now. Will benefit from further aging too.

Golden color with pear, green apple, and citrus notes. Nicely acidic wit a lasting finish. Very fresh. Only wish I had another bottle to try in a couple of years.

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.
Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of talc, lemon wax, yellow pear and nutmeg. Flavors of lemon zest, creme fraiche and tart apple. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

A beautiful composition of Chardonnay from some excellent SRH Vineyards. A bit of vanilla, toast, lemon, pear, and minerals. This was a great match for hazelnut crusted chicken breasts with a lemon yogurt sauce last night.

Oh it’s been awhile my old friend - LF has always maintained fairly exasperating drinking windows for their flagship Chard (for those of us who hate waiting of course) and it’s becoming readily apparent why. Tight and acid heavy on PnP, with just a little time in the glass, as noted by AIR GUITAR & PINOT NOIR, is right on point - this comes alive. There are so many levels to the nose - from the flint and grass to a bit of marzipan and oak and then the hit of lime, this deserves some attention and study. This is not an intoxicating nose but it is beautifully complex and complete. The wine underneath, likewise started out with a bit too much bound up acid and energy but this fleshes out into apple, oak, and a very lingering lemon finish that seems to come in wave after wave. Couldn’t be happier with this tonight, also very happy with how many bottles are still sitting tight in the cellar. 95

Virtually Non-French Chardonnay (zoom): Drank semi-blind, this had the most minerality of the group, including the 2012 Montelena. Flinty, wet stones, lemon and apple. My #2 wine.

Virtual Single Blind Chards (Home): Light gold color. Wines were poured into jars for transport about 4:30pm. Drank a glass single blind over 90 minutes starting at 7:30pm. This is a little bit bigger, more oak, but still fairly vibrant and has good acidity, lemon, stone fruits, vanilla, medium full bodied. Called this correctly as Liquid Farm. My and group #3 WOTN. 90+ to 91pts.

I really enjoyed this. Enough flint/mineral and acidity to balance the fruit, which fils the whole palate with a nice lengthy finish. Hits that magic deep and complex with restraint balance.

The wine looks greenish gold colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, flint, mineral and stoniness. It tastes like lime, gooseberry, cut green grass and almond. The body is light. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Drinking exceptionally well at this point. Mineral undercurrent buoyed by nice fruit, including Granny Smith, white nectarine and grapefruit notes. Good acidity lifts this and makes it energetic, but some time in the glass smooths it out and let's the full package show. Moderate oak.

Another very small (10) barrel selection - 15 months in barrel (25% new French / the remainder neutral oak) - medium bodied, lemon verbena with touch of marzipan on the nose, lemon and apple on the palate good acid structure, small amount of marzipan on the palate as well - very nice, balanced, thought it would be bigger, but excellent nonetheless

Golden yellow. Honeyed lemon, apricot, tropical fruit notes. A hint of oak and vanilla. A medium bodied style in the context of California Chardonnay. A very good wine, drinking wonderfully now.

Lively wine with some almost pale green edges, it’s actually quite refreshing, especially when served with a chill. A little air time and room temp coaxes out an oily texture with pure minerals, oyster leaf, and gentle mandarin and lemon curd. To be honest, just what I’m looking for in a domestic chardonnay

Four is the pinnacle and carefully selected sources of the Liquid Farm line-up. I liked this bottle a great deal although I usually prefer the Golden Slope in the LF line-up. I found this offering a bit more approachable and open than past vintages. Good acidity with minerals and a touch of salinity. Good mouthfeel and persistent finish.

Medium pale yellow. A touch creamy on the nose with some green apples, stone fruits and some minerality. Medium acidity (6/10) with a medium body. Well balanced acidity throughout the palate with white and green fruits. Undertones of crushed gravel and some white flowers. Lingering finish. Drink till 2024.

Had side by side with a '15 Ridge MB chard so didnt really notice the oak at all. Medium body, fresh zippy acidity and solid mineral presence. The fruit was a bit tropical but overall went great with food. New world fruit with an old world structure. I like these a lot but QPR is not great for me.

Popped and poured - continued to evolve with some time open.
Nice bottle of wine with flavors of apple, vanilla and mild tropical fruit. Nice complexity and balance. Oak was used judiciously and was not overbearing at all.
Similar to the golden slope from the same vintage, but more complex and with less tropical flavors. This was from selected barrels of the golden slope and you could notice the difference from their regular bottling.
Nice middle ground between the fuller golden slope and leaner styles chards they produce

A wonderful expression of Chardonnay, exhibiting old world chops with new world fruit. Mineral and oak intertwined with medium weight and acidity. Almond paste and some floral element on the nose.

From the mailer - 2015 FOUR This years FOUR will not dissapoint. Another very small (10) barrel selection of wines that as they develop, inherently express more earth, more complex textures and just an overall - "FOUR-ness" as we've come to call it (you know what we're talking about if you've had it).
NOTES ON DRINKING YOUR SNEAK PEEK FOUR: this wine saw a little over 15 months in barrel (25% new French / the remainder neutral oak) and while she's tasting amazing, she's in early adulthood to be sure. We suggest waiting until May or later to open and if cracking a bottle before then, decant and/or drink over 2-4 days for a more accurate experience. This wine is built to last!!
(PRELIM) TASTING NOTES: Still relatively closed on the nose, subtle aromas of warm milk bubbling on the stove, quince, Asian pear, river rock, fresh nutmeg and pasta water. Tingly on the front, with flavors of lemon cream, key limes and lemongrass. A lot of spiciness reminiscent of ginger snap cookies. Rich on the mouthfeel but leaves you salivating from the acidity. Finishes with subtle hints of marzipan and baked apple.

Baked apples and spice. Light woody flavor and oak terpins. Full mouthfeel and spicy. Although not flabby it doesn't have the tension of the leaner bottlings.
