Dried apple and apricot nose with a petrol and racquetball funk. A somewhat weighty palate with a sleek texture with notes of green apple, lime peel and a touch of minerality. Medium acidity and a clean finish.

N: SLIGHTLY closed; Apples, flowers coming on, POSS just a HINT of petrol?
P: Med body; Rndish entry with subtle frt that is quickly met by a zesty acidity that SLOWLY, fairly seamlessly morphs into a LONG, balanced finish with a TANGY/swtness (60:40) that only ULT loses some of its firmness. Better as it warmed, working with our "usual" Grilled Salmon/Tilapia & Rice Risotto. 12.5% ABV; My VG+/EXC-, & best to drink it NOW 'less one is willing to probe for its almost faint, fading (?) frt. [As of early Feb '21, wine-searcher still shows 4 sources from $15-$23].
∑: Pros: No oak, palate cleansing acidity, balance, 12.5% ABV, ageability (IN its style), & a nice QPR given those descriptors; Cons: Many (most?) will pine for > "frt" swtness, something this wine may never really have had.
Straw yellow. Med intense nose w. stone fruits and some rubber and petroleum. Med(+) acid, med body and intensity and alc. Good minerality and stony structure. Balanced between the fruits and more stony character. A bit watery finish. Not big, but easy-drinking.
Drink.
My notes: Petroleum, yellow stone fruits, gooseberries, salty capers.
Cf. the CellarTracker Article link [lower lft] to get specific info for this vintage, including acclaim.
N: Peaches (poss some lychee?) with floral notes; Hints of creaminess?
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with subtle frt met by a racy, almost puckerish acidity (with the VERY slightest hint of spritz?) which QUITE backs off by the end of the very LONG, balanced, ULT pleasant finish, although with a distinct tanginess. Reasonable with the oft used Grilled Salmon, Grilled Tilapia, & TJ's Mushroom Risotto, but might also have worked with Cream Sauce based Entrées, given its acidity. Not sure WHERE this is on its evolutionary timeline, though this bottle's lack of overt frt IS problematic for me. To be on the safe side, drink over the next 18 mos or so. 12.5% ABV (per winery); My EXC- (90,91/100 using that metric). [As of mid Dec '20, wine-searcher still shows 5 sources from $15-$25].
Note: Also tasted on 6/2 & 6/16/20

A wine of contemplation that develops with air in the glass. Light gold, at first there is a strong aroma of kerosene and lime, but the wine opens up to show white flowers, pear , grapefruit, quince , and vanilla pastry balanced by sharp notes of pine needles and eucalyptus. It is searingly dry, but you first get a waxy mouth feel followed by an intensely sharp burst of green apples and lime - and then the soft dry finish of baked apples in pastry. A delicious example of balance and subtlety. Drink and enjoy over the next ten years.
Fragrant nose of ripe apricot, elderflower, honey, a touch of white pepper and nuts. Plenty of acid on the tongue, needs time to warm up in the glass to reveal a silky, slightly oily yet fresh palate of strawberry (!), peach and honey, with a mineral finish.
Cf. the CellarTracker Article link [lower lft] to get specific info for this vintage, including acclaim.
Private Preserve after Day 1
N: Pears, poss apples, with notes of minerals; Intensity lurking?
P: LM, poss Med, body; Rndish entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by a crisp, poss (briefly) very, VERY slightly spritzy acidity which seamlessly evolves into a LONG, BALANCED, tangy/swt (60:40) finish. Showing more substance than I recall the 6/2/20 bottle having, doing at least as well with basically the same entrees. For now & drinking through '23, poss longer. 12.5% ABV; My EXC-/EXC (90-93/100 using that metric), trending towards the higher. // Day 4: Apples, minerals aromatically, the frt with the P cleansing acidity holding VERY nicely, & working well with the night's Grilled Pk Chops. [As of early Jul '20, wine-searcher still shows 2 sources @ $22 & $23.]

N: Closed; Apples with flowers, POSS some petrol? A touch too cold init, with air/warmth it showed a melding of those apples/flowers.
P: Med, poss LM, body; Rndish entry with very NICE frt, almost with a sense of swtness, beautifully counterbalanced by an acidity which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it seamlessly leads into a LONG, BALANCED finish with an elegant tangy/swtness. Seemingly adept by itself or with the night's Grilled Tilapia, Grilled Salmon, & TJ's Mushroom Risotto. Drinking well NOW & into, probably through, '23. My EXC-/EXC, however trending towards the lower because of a sensation I'd best describe as wateriness, albeit juxtaposed against the wine's *marvelous* BALANCE. Clear pale light gold in the glass. Intense nose of kerosene, fresh fruit of apricot, peach, white pepper, a touch of sweet lime curd. Dry, high acidity, distinctly citrussy (lemon, grapefruit), waxy mouthfeel, long and persistent.
Clear gold in the glass, nose is very acidic, almost plastic smells going on. Drinking it and it has a light body, crisp and tart with notes of green apple. Finish is very dry and tart. Paired fine with sushi but this seems weak compared to the other Rieslings I’ve had. Last Alsace I had was quite good, I’d say this is just alright.

Clear, medium lemon color. Clean nose with medium-intensity aromas of petrol, dried apricot, melon and butter. Dry with medium acidity, medim- alcohol, medium body and medium+ length finish. Flavors of limeade, green apple, medicinal, bitter fennel, juniper. Flavors too underripe for my taste. Drink now, do not hold.
nose shy but as mesmerizing as any top riesling. Austere, stony, serious extract, ripe and maybe even red fruit. A sub $15 reference. Optimistically suspicious of the 3-5 years ageing potential according to Trimbach website. 89-90+

Dry, acidic, notes of pear, tart apple and citrus. Moderate complexity, moderate finish. My first Trimbach, as I explore dry Riesling. Quite nice. Would happily buy again.
UPDATE: I have since purchased a few more bottles -- a couple more 2015, and also a 2016.
Medium Gold color. Aromas of tart green apple, lemon, crushed rocks, and just a hint of petroleum. Lively on the palate, fleshy, with tart apples, lemon and lovely salinity. Excellent QPR.

Excellent for the price. Needs time to calm down a bit, but has stuffing to age well. Laser spine of citrus acidity, a bit aggressive pithy bitterness on the attack, loads of crushed rock, which settles into lightly ripe apricot and some interesting red-fruit-ish notes of pomegranate and dried cherry. Fairly plush texture and a long finish.
Pale lemon-green color. Petrol on the first few minutes upon opening, but goes more to white peach, orange blossom and ripe citrus fruit. Medium (-) body with a tangy acidity and beautifully integrated alcohol. Long, refreshing finish with a hint of minerality. Drunk with salami pizza, great combo.

Petrol up front on the nose. Some mineral, and pear coming through. Maybe a touch of vanilla, but so subtle could be my imagination.
Big puckering lemon on the attack with mineral/stone around the edges. Surprisingly low sugar for a riesling. Mouthfeel is tough to describe. Puckering is about all I can come up with.
Mellows significantly after the attack. Nice long dry finish.
Definitely a food wine. Not something I'd just open and drink. I'm thinking Indian, or hot and spicy food would be a perfect pairing here. I would avoid Korean food - too much acid for pickled vegetables! I dare say I'd be willing to try Mexican food with this wine.
Tasting notes from a glass that is a few degrees too warm. Nose has melon and honey. Palate has lemon, peach, pineapple. Medium in body. Perfectly balanced. Finish stays with you. One of the most consistent producers in the world.

This is really nice, especially for the price. A whiff of petrol on the nose, but clean acid and flavors. Well made, easy to drink. Good French wine! It would definitely mature with a few years in the cellar...
The second bottle of this wine in 2 months . On nose:hints of petrol , lime and flint. On palate : still a strong herbal and earthy character , softened by hints of orange marmalade . This wine is meant to age....great with cold chicken and potato salad.
Nose - Little to no nose, lemon, pineapple, nectarine. Really had to search for anything. Palate - Predominate acidity lacking any fruitfulness, disappointment.

Mostly Riesling Tasting at Domain Trimbach (Ribeauvillé, France): Light color. Ripe peach, excellent mineraity and acidity, especially for the year. Very good basic Riesling.
