The wine looks Ruby colored. The legs are Medium. It smells and tastes like Cherry. The body is Medium. The wine has Flabby texture. The wine finishes Medium. This bottle seemed a bit sweeter than previous ones. The ladies really liked it.

Deep red purple - showing no age in the colour whatsoever. This wine needed three hours in the decanter to even begin to open up, and it was much better the next day. This is a very intense beast of a wine with cedar, oak, red fruits and floral notes on the nose, with slightly drying tanins and a very very long finish. There is a slightly unpleasant brackish element on the finish. All in all, this wine is still too young. Edit: after another few hours in the decanter, the brackish element has finally gone.

Consistant with previous notes. Perhaps even better! Will try second day and see if it dies like the previous bottle. Will update this note if different.

Wonderful nose. Floral and dark fruit filled the air. Initial taste black cherries changing quickly to plum tannins smooth with a touch of pepper on the finish. Very enjoyable.

Opened bottle without decanting for 4 hours. Tannins were very mild with a wonderful red/black fruit forward taste. This wine is at the perfect drinking point. Consume within the next year or so and you will enjoy. Update: Second night, fruit was very subdued almost non-existant but still enjoyable.

Pretty garnet-magenta red. Strawberry cream, gardenia, and mint nose. Medium bodied, sweetened raspberries, bright cherries, smoke, soft but dry tannins, and a very slightly sour medium finish. I'm a grenache fan, and this is a good one.

Soft smoky charcoal and incense. Rich and luxurious, considerably plusher and sweeter than I remember this wine to be normally in its youth. Berry liqueur and vanilla-mocha latte oak flavors abound here, as well as youthful florality. On day 2 this seemed tired aromatically, though, and given its overall profile and roundedness I'd surmise there's no where positive for this to go with additional age.

PnP that would have benefited from a 90 minute decant. A bit too grapey for me, with an almost cough syrup-like quality at first. The dark earth notes and rustic minerality follow through to the medium + body, but ultimately the wine disappoints as it has yet to fully integrate the substantial oak tannins. I really enjoyed the 2001 and should have waited longer or decanted thoroughly to better enjoy this effort. 100% Grenache, 14% abv, approx $29.

Delightful wine - almost a floral aroma - very different from the black or red fruit that seems to predominate in the world of red wine these days - although a slight edge of stony cherry could be discerned this wine was not a fruit bomb - it had subtle minerality . Not a wine of great power but elegant finesse. For a 100% Grenache varietal this was very classy

Lovely fresh, floral wine with hint of strawberry on both the nose and palate - well balanced tannins and acidity - not over powerful or long on the finish but highly enjoyable - drank well with roast pork

Very attractive Navarra wine, made from 90-year-old Grenache vines (old hillside vineyards with extremely small yields), matured for one year in French barriques (20 percent new). Decanted one hour prior to consumption. Deeply black-red colored wine with an intense bouquet of sweet cherry, licorice, pepper notes and a tad of earthiness and smoke. Ripe, full-bodied and well-balanced palate, with masses of silky fruit, supported by a very fine acidity and present but elegant tannins. Complex and satisfying aftertaste. A delight to drink now, but can also be cellared for 2-3 more years.

14% alc...upon opening, decant and a quick sneak peek, the oak is VERY present on the nose, and the palate is as tight as a drum...will give this one an hour or so to open up...opened up to reveal a large wine, never hot, very long. In no way heading downhill.

Dense, concentrated with a sweet raisin fruit core and slightly dark edge. Ready to drink. Port-like in both density and flavor. Raspberry. Long sweet berry finish with a bit too much alcohol. Very clean and clear. Just crosses the border into overdone. This is a wine that fans of this style will love. B

Decanted about 5 hours prior to consumption. Tight and wrapped this showed a narrow beam of bright fresh red berries along with subtle spice and kirsch. Very good acidity as well as balance across the palate. Would be best served with food and in another couple years of cellar time. Very good.

Beautiful candy, rose petals and strawberry old vine grenache nose. I love the smell of old vine grenache. More strawberry and candy on the palate and this wine finishes with gripping tannins. Definitely a bit old world and has the guts to age for several years. This wine was approachable now but I'd guess its best days are ahead of it.

14% alc...TIGHT AS A FRIGGIN DRUM...nose is a dead giveaway for Grenache, which this is - 100+ YO vines...palate is a monstrosity, huge, tannic, enormous...give this time to settle - or air time...more tomorrow...let it rest.

Unfortunately past its prime. Drinkable & would have been ok with a meal, perhaps, but not impressive on its own at this stage.

Not sure I can score as there was the hint of TCA which limited the impression of this wine. Nice, velvety texture but the fruit was muted.
