The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), raspberry and black pepper. It tastes like raspberry, black currant (cassis), vanilla and tobacco. The body is medium. The wine has low acidity.

Moderately tannic with notes of raspberry, strawberry, and cherry. A very balanced wine, but slightly acidic, and perhaps a little bit too much fruit forward. Nevertheless. a very quality wine that pairs well with ribeye steak. 4 Stars.

Dark ruby with slow legs. Strawberry on the nose. Light to medium on the palate. Strawberry, tart raspberry, and some mineral on the palate. Tart, mildly spicy, medium finish. The wine is lighter than most cabs, but a pretty good bottle.

So i have found in the past that if you hold Justin wines( Cabernet) for a little while that they develop some secondary notes. well that isn't the case anymore ; as these wines are made to be consumed within 2 years of release. This bottle was more port like than Cabernet. all the dark fruit was gone and it was flabby and no structure. glad this was only bottle of this vintage left. If you have any left drink it NOW; do not hold this any longer.

I like it but I think their growth in production has effected their quality. This was certainly better than the newer 2018 vintage that was recently reviewed but nothing to ring the bell over. Nice bright front forward fruit with some Cherry & Berries. Finish was round and polished with very little tannins. Enjoyable bottle but in the $25.00 range there are much better.

Far better than the first bottle two years ago. Age has done exactly what it should for this wine. Fruit intensity has settled nicely to component the wood / tobacco / cola low notes. Tannins are completely tame, and no alcohol fire. Medium body wine despite the flavor profile, exceptionally easy to drink and easy to appreciate. A good wine to train on.

By the glass. Prevalence of plum, roasted coffee and black berries. On the palate it is tannic, dense and sparingly acidic. Overwhelmed by the sensation of smelling a plank soaked in wine and not a wine wrapped in wood. Things of the elaboration and selection of fruit. For half the price, quite similar to that they called reserve. Hence this is up to you.

Not your usual cabernet sauvignon this is ver earthy. You can definitely make out the lime and minerals, fruity, spice, then followed by distinctive oak. I would say medium tannins although I have read other reviews of stong tannins. Definitely one of my favorites for a medium priced bottle is definitely worth the buy.

Cherries, oak spice, and a waft of watermelon on the nose. It’s crunchy, textured, balanced, and a good cut keeps plump, Paso fruit flavors lively and fresh. Pleasing to drink.

Justin's 2016 workhorse Cab is comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 14 months in American oak (25% new). With aromas and flavors of Bing cherries, blackberries, eucalyptus and baking spices, it is a medium-to-full-bodied red with low acidity, seamless alcohol (14.0%), silky tannins and a fair amount of oak. The middle palate is solid and soft-textured, leading to a short-to-medium, spice-laden finish. The ripe flavors and soft textures make this Cabernet an "easy drinker," but it lacks the structure and depth to warrant a higher score. Drink now-2026.

Day 1: High sugar, very sweet, no depth or balance, not really enjoyable. There was a time when I thought this wine was good. Last 3 bottles I've had were borderline undrinkable. Not sure if my palate changed or the wine.
Day 3: Vacuum sealed and re-tasted on day 3. Wine tastes completely different. Decent fruit backbone, and although still a bit sweet, not at all offensive.

Deep ruby/indigo color, not quite transparent. Bouquet of dark berries, cherry, cedar, some herbs -- all sugared over a bit. Fits with the jammy first impression. Medium to full bodied on the palate with lack of finesse. Fat and lacking in acidity as well. The medium length finish shows rustic tannins and some alcoholic heat. Much more fruit than a typical Cab; much less pepper, no tobacco, and little leather -- worth considering when pairing...was really quite good with barbecue salmon.

I am surprised by the low scores on CT. This is a nice wine especially for the price. I am not a huge fan of big California cabs, but this one drinks as well as any I have had. Beautiful dark purple in color. Blackberry and vanilla on nose and palate. Dry, nice acidity, smooth tannins, med body. You don’t taste the big alcohol. Not overly complex but very enjoyable.

Opened 24 hours before drinking (not decanted and stored in fridge 18 of those hours). Deep magenta color. Lots of vanilla and some subtle green notes on the fruit forward nose. Smooth palate and soft, but sharp tannins on the medium short finish.

Had only a small tasting, not a full glass. Not a typical peppery full flavored robust California cab which I like, but more of a fruity moderate taste and bouquet, which is typical of many Paso Robles cabs. Nothing notable for the price point. Has some potential, but could use some aging. Seemed to pair moderately well with 1) rotini and cheese with sweet and spicy bacon and garlic bread crumb gratinee and 2) flat bread pork belly applewood smoked bacon with white cheddar and caramelized onions. Tasted at Bo Beau'a restaurant in La Mesa, CA. Overpriced at $14 / glass. (Side note - Recent visit to Paso Robles area peaked my interest in this vintner which we did not get to visit or taste on the trip.)

N: Slightly closed; RIPE, poss jammy, with notes of choc
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt met by some astringency which never loses the front swtness as it transitions into a LONG, tangy/swt (40:60) finish with the barest hints of very, VERY fine tannins. For now & likely into '21, I'm guessing. Nicely done in the style. My VG/VG+. [This vendor's $19.95 puts it in the top 10% of an already PACKED wine-searcher field.]
