Champagne [method], Potato Chips, French Fries (Rat Lounge Patio, CoHe): Wonderful showing here. Expressive nose, intense brioche, apple tart, Palate has a lot of depth and richness, ripe golden apple and toasty through a long finish. Plenty of cut and structure to balance the richness.
Group #1 by a landslide, My #1 Double blind champagne method tasting

Delicious and balanced sparkling wine. Initially orange flavor finishing with the traditional top champagne with a baked apple taste. Cheap for what it is.

This bottle has to be the best deal in non champagne sparkling wine that outdoes a lot of Farmer fizz for probably 10-15 bucks less. This wine has a nose of lemongrass. Palate of medium bubbles, buttered toast, lemon rind, white wildflowers and herbs. Really nice, and my first sabraged bottle of my life! (Only took one pass...yes I know I'm late to the party!). The Ferren 2017 Chardonnay was actually enjoyed before this beauty and I think ironically it was the right decision to serve this wine with the fried tomatoes and the Chardonnay with pear, brie, and rosemary teriyaki bruschetta. This Sparkling has a ton of life left in it.

Not as thrilled with this style as hoped, very good but get just a bit too much sweetness and hazelnut for our taste. Unapologetically in obvious style of brioche nuttiness, creamy minerality, and relatively subtle acids. Didn't pair with our seafood dishes too well, but pleasant enough on its own.

Elegant blend of pear, golden raspberry, apple, rich of bread with perfectly balanced acidity. It has little of the harshness of champagne-style wines in this price range.

Tasted at the Wine & Spirits Top 100 Symposium in NYC. 58% Pinot Noir, balance Chard. Very bright and slightly metallic, lemony with a bread dough finish. Nice texture.

Pale lemon in color, with a fine, frothy mousse. Medium nose, with aromas of ripe green apple, lemon custard and just a touch of toasted bread. Still youthful. Dry, clean and crisp, with a nice supple mouthfeel, med + acidity and med alcohol. Very elegant, well made, with med + flavor intensity and length. Still quite youthful and therefore may gain in complexity with a couple more years of aging.

Light yellow with fine beady bubbles. Hits all the hallmarks on on the nose and palate for what one thinks of a relatively “young” “Champagne” (note both in their own quotes). Apples, baked bread, citrus, dry, balance of perceived sweetness and depth. Not so much nuance but easy to please a group of people at a decent price for a California sparkling wine with a year on it.

Popped in the parking lot before seeing the play “Dear Evan Hansen.” Pale yellow. Nose and taste of brioche, green Granny Smith apples and pear. Tart acidity. Nice dry style and pretty well balanced. Give it a 91 and the show a 92. Cheers

Salil, Paul, and Mark at my new house: Grabbed one of these to see whether I would enjoy Roederer wines. I do not. This wine, although young, is much too sweet for a Brut. I suspect improper dosage as the sugar was not fully fermented.

Probably drank this too young but wanted to try one to see if I should buy more of this. Although an enjoyable bottle with lots pf bright fruit I think I will pass on laying any of these down for aging.

At Tasting Event (short TNs)...Smooth, with some but not overpowering sweet, mid-weight, has complexity and medium bubbles as when served. Glad to have a 2009 and 2011 on stash as the price paid is worth the taste tried. Pretty good QPR, these will be enjoyed when opened.

A bit surprised. Seems closed and simple at first taste. Much better with about of an hour since opening. Blossomed more with time, but did not compete with the bottle tasted at the winery earlier this year. Still, there was some of that (green) apple and pear combo that I found appealing previously. May need more age and probably better from a magnum -- if you can find one.

Incredibly good for California sparkling. Blind no doubt I would have said Champagne. Borderline sweet with tons of stone fruit backed by touches of baked bread. Incredibly effervescent with thousands of tiny minuscule bubbles that don’t stop or slow in the glass.

From memory. Visited Roederer Estate last week and the 2011 L'Ermitage was really wonderful. Enjoyed the tasting and tour with two things becoming very apparent: the wines really are better from a magnum (with more mid palate flavors and liveliness); and the 2011 L'Ermtage (from a magnum) was really outstanding with lovely apple and pear lift. Fifty-two percent Chardonnay and 48 percent Pinot Noir. Four percent reserve wine added that was aged for five years in large old French oak casks. Dosage was 11g/l. The wine was aged five years on lees and 5 months post dosage.
PS, Did not have a chance to taste the L'Ermitage Rose as it was not offered at the tasting.

Last 2 bottles….SOLID! One of the best QPR bubblies. Roederer and suppliers have caught on and raised prices on later vintages, unfortunately.
