Attractive nose still in its primary vein, with notes of apple and pear, along with a hint of crushed stone. The mouthfeel is pillowy soft, with only barely perceptible sweetness, coupled with a brisk and gripping acidity. The finish is long and still quite compact in its flavor presentation, a coil of orange pith. No signs of oxidation here. This is drinking well but still some years from showing everything it has, I suspect.

Four years after the prior: Earthy golden straw in color. Savory lanolin. Slightly viscous. Nice backbone acidity. Looking back at our previous note, this appears to have developed very nicely. Highly enjoyable meted out small pours over four nights.

Big nose of yellow apple, honey, citrus and raisin. Vibrant acidity, med+ body. Well integrated sweetness, less pertruding than in most kabinetts. Palette of minerals, honey, lemon and apple. Long finish.
Served with honey-roasted pork ribs and corn, a surprisingly epic pairing. The sweet corn and the residual sugar really played ball!

Pineapple on the nose with a hint of floral. On the palate, green apple, plum, peach, with hint of herbal and mineral notes. After about 30 minutes, floral notes emerge on the palate. Really nice. Juicy acidity and well balanced off-dry.

Medium yellow. Ripe pineapple on the nose suggests more sweetness than there actually is on the palate. Great acidity and a tad less body and texture than is often the case. This could be passed off as a Sec in some vintages and is one of those Vouvrays that has more of the Saumur/Savennières earthiness to it rather than just a beacon of pure fruit.

Day 2. This was really woolly on day 1 and I didn't care for this. This has lightened up, cleared up and focused. It's still a little much for me but it is better. Very Chenin with soft peaches, pollen, florals, wax, cinnamon, -orange blossoms, pineapple, granparent's strawberry hard candy. The palate shows orange blossoms, cinnamon, pineapple, florals, spices. Palate is light and clear, and I like that, but it's also somewhat diluted, with the flavors and mouthfeel a bit weak in intensity. The finish is a bit better than the palate. spicy and peach and floral. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

Amazing Demi-Sec with just enough residual sugar to have with Indian food as it cut the spice nicely. PnP with a nose of waxy pear, it was so fresh. The palate reminded me more of apple sauce with a hint of warm cinnamon.
I feel bad for drinking it so young. Actually, no I don't. LOL! This was fantastic!

Appearance: medium clear and vibrant yellow/amber. No gas or sediment with medium tearing
Nose: medium intensity pear/peach, wet white stone, and lychee with notes of crushed limestone. No/minimal oak
Palate: Medium/medium(+) intensity juicy peach, honey, and lychee with notes of grass and flint. Creamy/waxy texture, some bitterness, medium/medium(+) acidity, medium sweet, and medium(+) bodied. A nice medium/medium(+) flinty sweet finish and complexity. Nicely balanced with well integrated RS and bitterness
Really yummy! Fairly sweet with a creamy/waxy texture that cascades over the tongue into an elongated finish. I couldn't stop drinking it!

Nothing better than a well made demi sec vouvray. Lively on the nose, with notes of yellow apples, honeycomb, carmelised pears, meyer lemon, pineapple, slight wooliness among a littany of flavors. The palate is vibrant and layerd, with layers of plush sweetness interspaced with electric acidity. Finish lingers with nutty nuanced notes for a length. Outstanding.
Coravin. Yellow-golden; aromatic with quince, wet wool, stone fruits; palate is medium bodied, richly textured but elegant medium-plus acidity which provides great freshness, off-dry but doesn't come across as sweet, medium alcohol (13.5%), lovely depth of stone fruits and quince; finish is medium length. A youthful but delicious Huet Vouvray, with solid but not exceptional depth of complexity at this very high standard. Certainly worth opening a bottle now, and this strikes me as a medium-term ager for Huet. 92

Nose: Deep honeysuckle, lees spice, honeycomb, white peach.
Mouth: A smooth wash of starfruit, pineapple, white peach, and yellow apple mingle together before quickly picking up steam into the midpalate. A healthy bolt of acid comes in to keep everything active before a long, lush finish of light white flower and lees spice. Acid keeps arcing through, allowing the more complex flavors to shine on the pineapple core as the finish resonates endlessly.
Overall: Glitter on the palate. Lush but with good acid for balance, with the flecks of florals and spice further activating the gorgeous fruit core over time. Leans rich, but has the drive and cut to make it work. 100% Chenin Blanc. Drink now - 2031

One Years Work, One Nights Tasting (Morrell Wine): The nose was fresh with light spiced-apple, dusty minerals, lime spritz and sweet florals. On the palate, I found soft, pliant textures, showing honied stones fruits with subtle spice and minerals. The finish was long, resonating on sweet peaches offset by brisk acidity and lingering spice.

Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 5 *shared* Reds] from 08/24/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): "For many insiders, the argument over Vouvray’s greatest vineyard comes down to two sites: Le Mont and Clos du Bourg. Undisputably a grand cru vineyard, Le Mont enjoys a choice site on the Première Côte. With less clay and more stone than Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont yields young wines of intense minerality. With age, the wines develop great length and finesse." Apparently, 13.5% ABV, 18 g/l R.S., 4.6 g/l T.A., & 3.2 pH

A bit thin compared with the 16, but with nice minerality backing up the sweet yellow fruit. Rather reserved at this early age. And over three days, not much evolution. Still, it holds substantial promise.
