So, I had a bit of an issue with the previously consumed bottle of this wine. Not so with this one. Int was just perfect! Some cherries, root beer, raspberries and and dried fruit. Beautiful bouquet and a graceful path thru the mid palate to a very long, complex finish. Hard to believe that this is the Penney-Ash entry level Pinot. At a perfect place right now even though theres a few peak years left for it. A big plus is that its very food friendly.

Nice weekday Oregon Pinot that went perfectly with grilled king salmon, vegetable medley and rice pilaf. DW loved the nose. Earthiness, cherries, nice acidity and good price made this a winner.

Cherries and earthiness, medium bodied, smooth. It was opened for a mushroom tart but it shone with a whole cooked salmon with lemon and dill. Not fancy but really nice.

The first bottle from my new wine room. Chosen from the collection by my son. One whiff and you know it's a Pinot. Earth, Soul & dirt. Dry on the tongue just shy of gritty. Mushroom and cellar notes Some spice on the finish. Needed to open to really come out. Edit 24 hours later. Raised score after having another glass. This opened up so well. Much more complexity. Some plum and much more depth. (used one of the caps that takes out the air...)

Color: Ruby Red, Garnet. Nose: Rhubarb, cherry, tennis balls. Medium body, light acid. I've been enjoying this wine over the course of the past month. Will probably pop it open and finish next week. The wine has held up pretty well, longest I've drank a bottle using the Coravin (best investment ever). It's lost some acidity from the first pour, but the flavor profile has rounded out. Very smooth, red fruit, cherry, tree bark. Great table pinot.

Herby fruit on the nose and spice, earth, and oak starting to develop on the palate. I like this wine now, but probably will last a bit...more earth and mushroom to come. Lovely wine!

Medium darker ruby color with some purple. Explosive, ripe and aromatic, there are notes of black cherries, sweet spicee, some smoke and also violets. It's medium-full-bodied, with lower-medium tannin and medium acidity. Good length. An expressive, fun and delicious Pinit Noir without tue complexity or structure to scoee higher. I wouod drink this over the next 3 years or so.

WIllamette Valley Planning Party: We liked it! This one had layers of flavors - cherries, raspberries, some very nice spice. This was one of a bunch of Willamette pinots for the night. We were doing "research" for our upcoming trip to the Willamette Valley. This was the standout wine of the evening - and the most expensive - but certainly convinced us that we need to visit Penner-Ash when we go in a few weeks! The $20 bottle from Four Graces was also quite nice. The 2017 Gran Moraine just did not offer much intrigue.
Full disclosure... Pinot is not our go to wine. So maybe we just have to do more "research" to find pinots we like! :-)

Solid appellation effort from Penner-Ash from the Willamette Valley. Certainly does not have the depth and complexity of her single vineyard or estate wines but presents tons of flavor and outstanding value in the glass. Deep red in color and presents blackberry and black raspberry. Medium body that was a bit lighter than I would have desired, but beautiful flavor profile throughout. Certainly a nice value from a top Oregon producer.
