Purchased from a Eurocave storage in a small winebar/store in a little town in Provence for about half the Wine Searcher price with none being available in the USA at moment. Anyway of course youthful - pigmentation medium dark dull ruby - nose nice clean ready and complex with bright ripe red cherry fruit, sweet tobacco, charcoal and minty and floral notes. On the palate this wine demonstrates its enormity even more with bright acids in perfect balance w fine regal tannins buoying these aromas and flavors at length allowing a perfect decrescendo landing without a trace of loss of balance - just quietly slowly disappears. A complete pleasure. Why not 100? - Idk? 100 - being perfection - I guess is something I don’t feel able to assign. Maybe some with extensive tasting experience from the Hermitage slope might niggle about level of concentration but idk - I’d like to meet a better wine. Chave’s ‘15 also in Provence at half going rate is also on the level of complete pleasure with similar aromas and flavors even more concentrated and massive yet also more aggressively tannic which I am certain from reading will fall into complete balance in a few to several years.

Coravin sample. Rich sweet aromas of blackberry and violet candy, pepper. Raw young silky mouth coating fruit, fine acidity, supple with medium very fine tannin. Great lenght and balance. Infanticide I know, just needed to see what was in there! 96-98p

Tasting EP at L&W in 2019. Extremely good Hermitage, a little less up front compared to Hermitage La Chapelle 2017, but more complexity in after taste.

A Private Rhone Paulee in London: High toned nose. Young red fruit. Tannic. Very nice with plenty of stuffing just way too young. Score withheld.

Very nice: lifted red fruit on the nose, with perhaps a very faint hint of pepper, then very delicate and balanced on the palate. Very classy.

This was young, but delicious. Some tobacco, spice and cedar. Mixed red and darker fruits, but more red in tone. I liked this a lot.

98-99。Domaine Marc Sorrel Le Gréal Hermitage 2017

Fabulous! A little more tannic and less fine than the 2018

One of the best wines at the L&W en primeur tasting. Elegant, deep, lovely flavour and very persistent on the finish. Sold out!

A week in the Northern Rhone; 12/7/2018-12/15/2018 (Lyon, Vienne, Ampuis, Chavanay, Hermitage, Cornas, St. Joseph, Condrieu & Paris): Barrel tasting at the Domaine. From 60 year old vines on Les Greffiuex with a small amount of Roussane from Le Meal. Aged for 20 months in barrel (mostly used). Damn this is good, so concentrated blackberry and dark red raspberry, tannins again are very silky, earth, minerals, juicy - long lasting finish - WOW!! Very nice
