Clear, rich ruby color. Aromas of dark fruit, oregano, asphalt and fennel. Wonderfully balanced flavors of cherry, raspberry and blackberry. Med body with a pleasant presence of acidity and slightly more than medium tannins.

Beautiful to look at, smell and taste. Surprisingly young appearance with a dark core and magenta rim. Paints the glass red a brilliant red with a lush and seductive feel and flavor. Modern in style. Smells of spice, new leather, menthol and macerated raspberry. Just a hint of the telltale (to me) black tea of Tuscan sangiovese. In the mouth, it is beautifully balanced, spicy and even regal. Flavors of raspberry, soft and ripe cherries - both black and red - and balsam wood with a barely discernible taste of leather. Vivid acidity that revs up a finish that is cut only slightly short by fine tannins that clamp down and linger. This is truly a gorgeous and memorable wine that will hold for years. But it’s also so terrific now that waiting will be difficult.
100% Sangiovese. Still young. Gave it 2, 5 min Vspins to open it up. Red and dark fruits. Bright, luscious red cherry, black cherry, leather, tobacco, Tuscan earthy notes. Will improve with more time in the bottle. Cheers to a great wine.
Fully realizing it’s early in its drinking window but nonetheless wanted to try. Gave it a 2 hour decant and while it was a perfectly nice Tuscan, found nothing remarkable or memorable. Should have held longer.

I wasn’t overwhelmed with this Tuscany blend. Being a 2016 vintage you would think it is ready to drink. I’ll give the remaining bottles some more time.
Black cherry, raspberry, notes of wet leather, cinnamon; lovely fruitful bouquet; dense, rich, structured, powerful yet still buoyant with a long slowly fading finish; very good today with excellent future potential

Decantered 2+ hours. Young. Dark in colour, cherries, touch of tuscan dust and faint balsamic. Really a great wine. On the young side now. Try again in 3 years. 94-96+

Pure and structured expression of 100% sangiovese, aromas of red fruits (cherries), herbal notes and vanilla. Full bodied, structured, nicely integrated tannins, long lingering finish. 15% ABV. Brilliant wine, still young, will develop further in the cellar, enjoy over the next decades.

Opened and decanted. Enjoyed about 2 hours later, with food (orrechiette fatta en casa, con broccoli rabe, in case you were wondering). Beautiful purple-garnet color. Nose offers density with oak, cedar, red clay and hint of black plums. Tart cherry on the intro, opening g up to brown spice notes. Bright peppery finish. A beautiful wine that will shine with two + years of bottle age. Delicious full bodied wine.

Decanted for three hours. Relatively dark ruby red for 100% Sangiovese. Nose mostly of oak with some cherry secondarily. Cherry on palate and still tannic. Elegant wine that needs a number of years to lose the oak and tannins.

decanted for 2h and tasted alongside cepparello 09
medium-dark ruby
on the nose youthful, medium intensive aromas of fig, and a mixture of red and dark berries, ripe cherry, hints of caramel, vanilla, christmas zest, fir needle and pepper. compact and dense nose
on the palate adstringent and high tannins, high acidity, high alcohol, medium to full body, very good drink flow.
wait for another 5y at least. high aging potential (20y+)

Nose: Medium (+) intense youthful, rich aromas of ripe cherries, already going a bit towards cherry coke. Fresh plums, vanilla, cinnamon and a little bit of herbs detectable. Extreme freshness and more and more wet stone ( reminding of iodine) as well as white pepper comes through. Ripe fruit core, which presents itself very nicely but is neither too ripe nor too plump. Great potential visible!
Palate: Nice mouth-filling, high alcohol, lots of pressure in the mid-palate with very high acidity. There are ripe (medium ~ +) tannins, the body is medium +. A great, very dense firework in the mouth that maps the aromas from the nose very well, especially on the fruity side. Due to the ripe fruit, great acidity and the ripe tannins, one has here a great promise for the future with a lot of potential (storage +20 years possible).

One hour of air in wide-bottom decanter. Medium ruby color, clear, and bright. Nose of balsam, cedar, soil/place, forest and bright red berry and cherry. Elegance and power despite this holding back, i.e. it's coiled, and a lot to admire if one is taking their time with it. An excellent future. I'll hold another 3-5 years for my preferences. highly recommended
I decanted this for about an hour before consumption. Savory, almost like a Chinon. Beautifully integrated on both nose and palate. Paired exceptionally well with bolognese. Good value. More pleasant than most Brunellos

Decanted >90 minutes. Still tightly wound and not offering up a compelling depth or complexity dimension yet. All savoury, dried cherries but not in a tertiary way. I'd still take this over most of the premium 100% Sangiovese and 80% of the Brunellos out there. However, I'd still go hunting for Flacianello over this at this price point level. I'll try the 2017 when it gets released in our market.
Already drinking beautifully. Vivacious fruit on the nose when popped and poured. Fruit recedes after decanting; more musk on the nose, and the blend of medium tannins, acidity and alcohol on the palate lending this an almost smoky finish. So good.

Blind, deep ruby, leaning towards purple, slightly vegetal, medium body, well balanced with a length finish. Seems like it will hold another 5 years. Yikes $106 CAD.
Pretty blown away with this and drinking remarkably well for the age. Showing 15% alcohol it’s medium to more full bodied with both searing acidity and tannin. Great extraction of juicy dark fruit mixed with dusty red. Fennel, vanilla, tobacco, and cassis follow. Incredibly chewy/gum sticking but not puckering tannins require for that the five hours open I gave this. Likely these start to close in the coming months for the long haul.

A superb expression of Sangiovese, this has an elegant, highly aromatic nose of crushed cherry, cedar wood, rose floral, and purple fruits. The rich, powerful palate is medium-full bodied with big, structured, chalky tannins. It has very nicely balanced aroma replays that is more earthy with tar and leathery notes. Some mineral and graphite flavours arrive mid-palate and linger through to the finish, with excellent length. Needs 5-6 years and enjoy over the next 20 years.

A gorgeous nose of fresh flowers, black cherry and cedar. It is full, luscious and creamy but has excellent definition and precision.
