This was delicious and much more approachable than the Christmann Vogelsang but that could be age, style, vintage or all three. Tons of yellow fruits and flowers on the nose and palate. Rich as expected given the vintage, but far from clumsy or blowsy, at least to me. Dönnhoff GGs seem to really hit a sweet spot for me. They are "Burgundian" in texture but with a Riesling flavor profile. I find them great at the table. This is great now and should continue to be so. This was my last bottle, but I'd pick up more at the right price.

Opens up with air. Exciting fresh wine with an excellent nose of white and yellow stone fruit. Starts thin and sparkly like a txakolina but as it opens up it rounds out into more white stone fruit and citrus flavors. The palate shows good concentration and a good finish with bitter lemon rind.
Overall very nice and continues to open up in the glass over a period of hours.

So we paired the reds with the grilled dishes, all the Ladys hinted that they would like to enjoy a fine white,
here we are, a Dönnhoff Dellchen GG, the most clean and feminin expression of German high class dry Riesling, so young still, the only VDP estate that fills this small 3 hectar vineyard, fine delicate and racy stone fruit, this elegance, an intense finesse like flow, enormous depth, long electric aftertaste, the girls were excited, like me! Highly Recommend to purchase every bottle no matter what vintage, there are very few on the market, great bottle, will improve by further cellaring! **(**-*****), 94- 96(+), an easy 95 for tonight

Vibrant, energetic, showing depth and suggestions of complexity. Excellent acidity. This should evolve very nicely. As it was, at this young stage, very enjoyable over three nights.

Gorgeous. Big in energy, refined and delicate in taste. Very gentle yet powerful. Masterpiece, impeccably balanced. Long, light, pure citrusy riesling. Ageless. Ethereal. Beautiful. Great.

Tasted as part of the line-up of 2018 vintage Riesling presented but the German Wine Society; Steely nose, on the palate a bit on the lean side with pronounced acidity; after a while it shows some extract and starts to be less nondescript. A bit hollow in the middle ..Will it ever fill out? I am not quite convinced...

Light straw color; pineapple and grapefruit pungency on the nose, very modest amount of TDN only slowly emerged with airing; crushed gravel, sea air and petrichor; intense, lots of tension; very French hybrid character on the long finish. 92+

Rich and Sappy with incredible lemon/lime interplay, pineapple and grapefruit type fruits with elderflower perfume, salty, slate-like minerals that shows fantastic depth and intensity. Long, persistent with a finish that lasts several minutes. Great potential and while richer than the Clemens Busch Marienburg GG (2018), this is in the same caliber of Grosses Gewachs tried as of late. Great stuff. Needs time!!!

"2018 Riesling Dellchen GG" is slowly on the retreat, yet still complex and quite opulent on the nose, with aromas of pears, almond cake, Turkish honey, white peach and pomelo. On the palate, it has lost some of its youthful freshness from a year ago and has become creamier. Rich in content and extract, with a lot of inner strength under a smooth surface; the medium + acidity is enough to bring the wine into a good balance. Aromatic predominantly beautiful stone fruit aromas, pomelo, meadow flowers and delicate meadow flower honey. It ends long with a beautiful intensity and in the finish the minerality is still evident with a slight salinity. 93/100 2023-2035

It's always a joy to drink some Dellchen! This wine is clearly far too young, but it's still delicious while showing strong potential. Love the notes of citrus fruits, lemon, and seashells. This has the structure, acid, and balance to age extremely well. Paired wonderfully with shrimp pasta.
This would be incredible to revisit 10-15 years down the line (if we could only be so patient!)

A lot of potential in this wine but still needs years to unleash it. Already very balanced and enjoyable but needs more integration of the acidity into the fruit
Far too young but really good now. Racy nose of lemon, bone dry palate with tons of citrus, grapefruit tarty goodness and a really long finish. Fascinating combination of acidic tartness and crunchy depth. Mouth watering, high acid. Very good.

Another full too young bottle highest class Riesling GG due to personal isolation and feel of living in a very thrilling period, pnp, fine mineralic nose, slate driven, some yellow fruit, very taut appearance, feminin velvity flow, zesty, citrus, orange peel, stonefruit, great tension but overall more open and approachable than the Felseneck tasted before, if the Felseneck 18 is reference for electric energy, then the Dellchen is for silky stonefruit flow, lingering finish, will improve over the next decade(+), **(**-*****), 93,94(+) potential
Update: last half of this bottle 24 hours later: very smooth on the palate, less tension than yesterday, delicate stonefruit, not sure if I do like this better........, this Dellchen bottle is not like the Felseneck: solid as a rock! But time will tell........

Tour VDP.GROSSE LAGE 2020 (chamber of commerce) IHK Handelskammer, Hamburg): One glass, brief note: hmmmm, again the most feminin sample from Oberhausen, silky but stonefruit full of tension, delicious, to chew on and dream about the very good things of life, highly recommended, in my honest opinion will increase precision and weight during the next decade, higly recommended, **(**-*****), 95(+) potential

Quite intense lime-green color. The nose feels somewhat sweet-toned and slightly restrained with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, some steely minerality, light honeyed tones, a hint of something waxy and a touch of cool slatey minerality. Overall the nose feels less primary and more serious than those of other 2018 Dönnhoff GGs. The wine is ripe, broad and full-bodied on the palate with intense dry flavors of lemony citrus fruits, ripe white peach, some floral notes of apple blossom, a little bit of steely minerality, light spicy notes, a hint of sour apple candies and a touch of tangy saline minerality. The wine feels quite voluminous and moderately high in acidity at first, but the acidity seems to slowly grow in intensity, making the wine turn less heavy and more sleek on the palate. The finish is crisp and very lengthy with intense flavors of sharp lemony citrus fruits, tangy salinity, some steely mineral tones, a little bit of herbal spice, light notes of apple peel bitterness and a hint of wet stones.
A balanced and quite impressive GG Riesling that shows some obvious ripeness, but also some very lovely sense of structure and freshness at the same time. Initially the wine felt quite weighty, rich and fruity, but the acidity sort of kicks on the back beat, transforming the wine quickly into something leaner and more mineral. Although drinking nicely right now, I can imagine this wine will benefit from some cellaring - especially if the wine drops some of its softer and sweeter baby fat around its cool mineral core.
