Pink salmon hue. Floral, strawberry nose. Herbal, juicy strawberry/watermelon. Very refreshing-- delicious on a hot night. Nice bottle to start the festivities.

This reminds me of how special Bandolier rose can be. Melon, apricot, strawberry and intense mineral. Great acidic freshness and big mineral on palate with a bit of a creamy, even glycerin texture. A lot going on. Built for food.

Consistent with previous notes last summer, only more minerals, oily petrol, and savory notes. Drink 2021-2022. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 91.

Opened and paired with mango chicken tacos and fixings. Compared to the Faustine rose last evening, this wine was ready to drink from cork pull and brought strawberries, apple blossoms, pomegranate, and herbs on the nose. The palate is medium, round, creamy, and textured, delivering good weight with strawberry-raspberry compote, nectarines, peaches, kiwi, lime, and orange rind into a dry, light finish. Typical with past vintages and was a crowd pleaser. Drink 2020-2022. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 92.

Inconsistent. Bottle 3 of 6 (all in 2020). Second that was muted on the nose and palate. Some acidity, but couldnt coax much else from the glass. The odd man (bottle) out was very different - a wonderful Bandol rose. Here's to hoping others (and my last few bottles) bat at a higher clip.

N: Strawberry, citrus, grapefruit, blood orange, white peach, white apricot peach blossom, a hint of herb and spice, but mainly fruit forward and medium intensity at best.
P: Rich strawberry and blood orange, rhubarb, with some nice minerality around the edge. Complex and lingering for a rosé, even from this producer. 72% Mourvedre.

Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whites, 8 Reds, & 6 *shared* bottles] from 09/20/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): "Every January, this cuvée is assembled by Peter Weygandt at the domaine with Stéphane Bourret (wine-maker) & the Bronzo family, so every yr the blend is a little different, but the quality & signature 'Bastide Blanche Bandol Rosé' character never strays. Dominant Mourvèdre with about equal parts Cinsault & Grenache from hand-harvested grapes on clay-limestone soil with cailloux, yielding only about 36hL/ha. About 1,100 cases produced."
N: Flowers, poss oranges, atop minerals
P: LM, poss Med, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by a firming acidity which transitions into a LONG, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with HINTS of occasional swtness. Might benefit from cellaring through '19? IF so, my VG/VG+ *will* be low! 90-92 pts WA (Czerwinski); [This vendor's $18.95 is now $2 < the next lowest of wine-searcher's postings.]
Note: For whatever reason, today this didn't show NEARLY as well as on 7/27/2019.

Always great stuff, and this bottle showed nicely. Minty, floral, spicy nose with strawberries and white pepper. Deep, fleshy on the palate but crisp and fresh. Complex spice, herbal and floral tones add to the juicy strawberry and watermelon fruit. A magnum of this was a bit hit at a summer afternoon grillout.

Pink salmon in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of strawberries, stone fruits, & watermelon notes with overtones of floral notes & minerals, orange rind & a hint of spices in the background. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, vibrant, ripe fruit flavors of fresh strawberries, cranberries & citrus notes with spices & minerals. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present although it might improve with an additional year of aging.
Nice pale salmon color, with notes of white peach and melon rind. A little excess alcoholic heat for me. A solid Bandol rosé but not particularly noteworthy or high value represented.

N: Slightly closed; A melding of grapes/minerals with flowers coming on
P: Med body; Very RNDISH, almost oily entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt off-set by an acidity which subtly, fairly seamlessly sets the parameters into & through the very LONG, balanced, tangy/swt finish. QUITE substantial for now & through '22. My EXC-/EXC; 90-92 pts WA (Czerwinski); [This vendor's $18.95 puts them in the TOP 10% of wine-searcher's postings.]
Later revisit: Held VERY nicely with ≈4.5 hrs in a small tasting glass! :)

I had this after work on 7/25/19. The nose was deep and expressive with strawberry, orange, smoke, herb and mineral aromas. The palate was rich and tangy with flavors that followed the nose.

A definite step up in quality from the sub $13 rose I usually look for. Strawberry cream on the nose and the palate follows with a silkiness that shows its refinement. Finishes with a hint of metallic bite that is the only detractor. Interesting in its light fruit and body but the silkiness gives t a slight sense of weight
Back on track again! (Not edgy like the 2017, see my TN). Resembles the 2011 or 2013 (see my TNs), on the delicate but penetrating side. 2nd bottle 9/19/19: Consistent. This is good, but not at the Suffrene level. 7/17/20: Loved it the first night. The next day, having spent the night in fridge under Repour, a bit tough. But went well with BBQ.
