PnP Pale metallic yellow Generous flowery Riesling aroma, minerality behind without spoiling the freshness Harmonious palate, hA, m-B, semisweet, flowery and fruity with a firm kernel, long finish. Drink now-for many years to come

Decant for 30 min. Right in the zone with bright fruit, a touch of sweetness, and just enough acid without too much zing. Well balanced and enjoyable right now.

A very nice wine. Mouth-watering moderate acidity combined with a moderate sugar level resulting in a good balance. Notes of slightly smoky minerals, peach, citrus with an aromatic touch. Would expect the aromas to get deeper in the coming years, but excellent already today. 2018 was a hot year with early ripening and harvest. Maybe the temperatures contributed to the nice, but for WS uncommon, slightly aromatic touch.

RPHC described it brilliantly. The cork was in better shape than its same vintage counterpart Graacher Himmelreich Spatlese. While this was slow ox'd only for 30 mins on ice in a large dining hall with blazing summer heat outside, the wine's richness (concentrated fruit) slowly faded over time with temperature, richer/spicy seafood, and good company. Upon release this would have been too much, but now it is starting to be quite remarkable, and even better with additional cellaring.
On the nose: Peaches, the typical riesling nose, exotic fruits, rubber. On the palate: Perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. Peach, passion fruit mixed with fine lemon peel. Long finish

Expressive, balanced and refreshing! Nose of fresh peaches, white florals, chrysanthemum tea, faint wet grasses and a whiff of early morning pond. Palate mirrors. Delicate and regal and perfectly balanced with a mild sweetness and flawless with absolutely no quirks. Very easy-drinking with a broad finish at medium length. This felt less acidic and more balanced than JJP's 2018 Graacher Himmelreich, which is why I prefer it. *Wehlener Sonnenuhr classified as Grosse Lage by the VDP and represents the most significant vineyard for J.J. Prum, accounting for about 40% of their total vineyard holdings. *The vineyard is named after the sundial built by Jodocus Prum in 1843.

Lithe, elegant, aromatically honeyed-citrus entry, balanced with that tasty mineral edge on the sides of my tongue reminiscent of licking a stone (limestone?), a delicious hallmark of Prum that sets their wines apart. Everything you want in a Spatlese, and years of development ahead of it. 9% Alc.

92 today, 93 potential Less reduced than I feared, but still needs a decant and some air Initial aromas of lime and wet stone, but over time green pears, green tree fruits, white fruits and blossom emerged. Some blue cheese sponti funk as well Outstanding length and intensity This will show much better in the future than it does now Tasted alongside the GH from the same vintage (which showed better than the WS today, but had slightly less length and intensity)

Notes of honey, pineapple, mango. Light and long; not at all obtrusively sweet. Wonderful balance. Only downside is that it was a bit distant, hadn't really hit its stride. After two days in the fridge with a (used) Repour it had picked up weight and was really showing its stuff, much more forward and assured.

Complex aromatics iof smoky mineral, citrus blossom, lime and yellow peach. It is full and fleshy, dripping with orchard fruit flavours. It has the perfect amount of sweetness, countered by a line of bright acidity. It is layered and very long.

SLDS September 2020: Lime, orange, peaches and orange on the nose. Lovely balance with good length here. Concentrated sweetness but it tastes delicious and has some depth to the flavour even in its youth. Give it time now.

JJ Prum - 2018 range tasting: Coconut, peaches, mandarin and smoke. Palate has a dramatic profile, with amazingly concentrated fruit power and a deep core and structure that will take some time to open up and show complexity. It's magic that this still finds such balance even with the amplified fruit richness and I'm sure that time will serve it well.

Krotida Wine Gang Tasting, Weingut JJ Prum Horizontal tasting 2018 (Oinoscent): The nose shows high intensity and density, ripe citrus, very fresh tropical fruit, very well balanced and powerful. In the palate, the wine is very well balanced, showing ripe citrus fruit, lemon, tropical fruit, medium body, medium to high acidity, finely tuned, green freshness, medium to long finish . Outstanding quality
