Shiny pale yellow-gold with green tint, and with small refined bubbles. Lemon, green apple, brioche, nuts, white flowers, honeysuckle, and minerality. High acidity, medium structure, medium finish. Fresh and youthful. Lots of finesse and seductive. This bottle would need more years to reach optimal drinking window.

A truly enjoyable bottle-the score inches up by the year! I agree that this will be most viable in 3-5 years, but the evolution is quite something. Today, a distinct white pepper element added to the creamy side of Blanc de Blancs, along with some serious new brioche tones, lemon, toasty side notes --and a tad too much underlying residual sugar (though not at all obstructive). The balance will get even better soon. Delightful.

Consistent to my last tasting note, discrete nose of lemon with a touch of biscuit. Relatively light for a 2012, but generous enough on the palate, showing the quality of the vintage. I would wait till 2028 before drinking this. Good but not great, certainly does not deserve the "Baby-Salon brand premium".

Pop up tasting @ Kymanox, picked to celebrate Sawyer's upcoming nuptials. Nice, clean example of grower Champagne. Nose and palate of yellow apples, pears, green apples, and lemon zest with more toast than yeast in the finish. Hints of grapefruit, apricots, butter, and applesauce are experienced after the initial perlage. High on acidity for sure, starts off very linear but evolves into a smooth, wet stone level of minerality. Thoroughly enjoyable. $63 from JJB back in 2021. Love the price considering the NV BdB is $60 and the fact this seems to have more time left to further evolve. A (93) evaluation.

Much more accessible at cellar temp today with chalky lemon and racy acidity. Balanced with a nice richness but high toned, no harm trying today but feels a few (2-4?) years away from an early sweet spot.

Degorgement Q2/2019. Maybe I score this champagne a bit too high, as it still needs a little while to develop its full potential, but even now it is right up my alley, elegant and understated. Youthfully pale colour. On the nose a little shy, but the pedigree of a noble blanc de blancs is undeniable, pure and airy with notes of citrus and sweet brioche, only the slightest hint of red fruits and a good dose of chalky powder. In the mouth the champagne starts rather tart, however, after half an hour and a little warming up it gains in stature and impresses with its high-definition flavours, an elegantly medium body and a discretely fruited, dry and chalky aftertaste. While on the racy side, there is no hair out of place. Overall this feels surprisingly young and primary, therefore I would keep bottles until 2025. I agree with Pdxwineo, the QPR is superb.

A year later, and even more elegant now! A defined BdB nose with crisp lemon and apple notes, and a narrow delivery initially with crisp citrus notes. But as it flowered over 2 hours, an elegance I ahd not noticed in the first two bottles emerged: not yet demonstrating the full complexity this wine will undoubtedly deliver in a few years, but proof that as it passes through a short mildly muted phase, this is a keeper and a wonderful offering at a price point far below its breeding. Of course, not a Krug, but very nice indeed.

First of 3, this shows good promise, seemingly less dosage and drier than recent Delamotte and Salon, maybe a little less power and fluff but this was nicely wiry toasty and balanced, the almond and apple notes were very enticing, a fairly serious option that should age nicely though accessible today.

Apples and toast, with a bit of lemon twist. A lot of bubbles at first (almost like the head on a hard pour of beer), but it settled down. Solid, concentrated, lots of material for a champagne. Well-balanced, well-mannered, not too sweet. A notch above "just another champagne," but not mind-blowing.

Opened accidentally by someone who thought this was a bottle of non vintage Delamotte. Consumed therefore at cellar temp. Still quite excellent if a few years too young. Creamy with solid acid tartness and should develop well in the cellar for 5++ years.

Fine mouse, smooth drinking; softer and "sexy" - the kind of thing a lady wants to take with her to the bathtub (I guess). Nose and palate of more familiar things: soft citrus and apples and toasty ginger, integrated and of ordinary intensity. Acidity in my bottle mostly balanced from the get-go. Enjoyable champagne.

The color was straw yellow with the faintest of pale golden hues. Cream, apple, lemon peel, and a nice balance with some malic acidity some residual sweetness from the dosage. Definitely would be better in 10 years, but it was fresh and worked well as an aperitif. Wished it had more almondy-bready notes and wish it was a little more full on the palate, but alas I was too impatient!

Another refined bottle that underscores what an amazing QPR this champagne represents. The Salon extraordinary care is quite evident. This bottle appeared a bit more restrained than the last , auguring well for aging. The nose immediately imparts a creamy, only slightly lemon-tinged note, with elegance exuding due to the fine backbone and clear sinews that will emerge soon. Not toasty, nor evidencing brioche, but rather a multi-faceted champagne that, with air, starts to open its branches. Worth trying now but also waiting for more to develop in the coming years.
More than decent, it’s solid, straightforward and satisfying. Good depth. Overly acidic just now in its youthful phase but should settle down nicely in a few years.

Great bottle but needs time. This never shows quite the austerity of Les Mesnil, though I have never minded that. airy, salted flavors of lemon custard, buttery/lactic aromas and flavors with a creamy midpalate and while plenty high in acid, it never seems all that high or nervy. Attractive now but will develop and has great upside potential. 92-93.

Pale gold colour. Pronounced nose with yellow apples, ripe lemon, brioche, butter, toast, honey, caramel and wet stone. Pronounced taste of yellow apples, ripe lemon, brioche, butter, toast, bread dough and wet stone. Small and medium lively bubbles. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good and elegant Blanc de Blancs with a wide and light, yet pronounced palate. Needed 15 min in the glass to open. Drink now or over the next ten to fifteen years. Goes well as an aperitif,or with shellfish

I am impressed. Certainly the best Delamotte I have tried and a true notch above the fine entry-level NVs. While this clearly has aging potential of nice proportion, it is quite enjoyable now. Already showing its lees-based aging, and the sinews are beginning to express: yeast, creme , lemon curd, brioche( just a hint), wood and medium complexity. Quite a QPR! Drank in a Zalto champagne glass which was adequately open for the style.

Youthful exuberance...poprocks party right out the gate! Needs air to calm down the crazy tart lemon head citrus and bursting effervescence...it does...there is a noticeable elegant creme to this one...more so than the 08...a lemon ginger pastry creme...wonderful layers and depth to the crystalline yellow pitted fruits...slight tropical, with a green apple tart snap. Just LOVE the white flower, dried apple ring florals and minerality in this...limestone chalk, match strike lees, sea salted shortbread...finishes energized and refreshing...yet there is a pillow soft calming that fills the senses and makes you just melt away! As good as the 08 imo...both must haves for the cellar!

Virtual Wine Dinner. An excellent showing. I had this at La Paulee just prior to the pandemic and while impressed found it a bit ungiving and perhaps too delicate. However, revisiting this now over several hours really changes my resolve. Bright and young with excellent cut and depth of shite floral notes, stony white fruits, and chalky minerality. Blind there would be no doubt this was a lovely blanc de blanc from a top shelf producer. A great follow up to the 2008.

Pop n' pour in GGG glass. Plenty of fine bubbles and a medium-sized mousse that quickly dissipates. Slightly bruised yellow apple, lemon/lime, and a core of seashell/chalky minerality. A little bready note on the palate after the Champagne gets to close to room temperature. Lovely acidity, very refreshing on the palate. A little coiled up right now, will check on my next bottle in 5 years.

Opened accidentally by someone who thought this was a bottle of non vintage Delamotte. Consumed therefore at cellar temp. Still quite excellent if a few years too young. Creamy with solid acid tartness and should develop well in the cellar for 5++ years.

Crisp, pure, and laser focused classically styled BdB. Nice wine if you like the style. Approachable now, but still very young.

Not usually one for brief notes, but: opened at a CNY party so only managed two glasses for myself, but immediately taken by the delicate flowers on the nose. Pastry. Full body. Cream. A delight.

Pleasant bubbles- it had a tartness that kept this from being better. Maybe a few more years in the cellar will help.

Tasted blind: pale straw color with vigorous fine beading; airy, clean, white flowers, lemon custard, buttery croissant notes; opens up to rich, ripe fruit. Loads of energy, youthful but not aggressively so; this shows loads of potential as it should gain complexity from here. 93+

Fine bubbles in the glass. Initial burst of hazelnut and coconut on the nose that subdues with some air. Gives way to some light brioche and chalk on the second day. Light caramel and brioche on the palate with a lemon streak. Lovely on a mild California lunchtime by the pool.

NOSE: Light and airy; mango; kiwi fruit.
BODY: light bodied; airy mouthfeel.
TASTE: high acidity; crisp; a touch creamy (oaky?); bit of mango. Overall, quite nice --- a bit reserved today, but seems to have the stuffing to develop nicely over the short term. I subsequently purchased three more bottles. Gut impression score: low 90s.

It is tight as hell initially but opening up a teeny little bit. Not much fruit at this point, quite saline with fierce lemon-tinged acidity. Margarita-esque... I do like the 2008 a lot so am hopeful this comes around with time

Still very youthful and tight on the nose showing citrus and some toasted bread. Nice acidity with yellow apples and a touch of tropical fruit on the finish. Very dry finish, this still need many more years of post disgorgement time in the cellar to open up.
