Drank pnp at cellar temperature, then one chilled decanted serving and a final slow ox glass. The pnp nose was just incredibly but a slight bitterness overshadowed the palate. This, however, quickly dissolved. Wine profits from air, although I don't think it needs a lot. Definitely at peak now, but probably got another five years+ in it. Extremely hard hitting nose. Rich and full-bodied palate without feeling cheap or uncomplex. A wine that's not afraid of creaminess, pretty nuances of new oak, and what I imagine old school white burgundy might have been like. Certainly overpriced on the secondary market, though.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS September 2022; Chassagne Montrachet (By VD): Floral bouquet with anise, mild citrus and some dairy impressions. On the palate floral and mineral impressions, butter, well dosed oak and good and fresh citrus acidity. Overall a beautiful and elegant wine.

Had a 375 with snacks at Blvd. nice and clean with hints if mineral flavors, slight reduction notes on the palate, paired well with Abalone BAO. Enjoyable Bourgogne level wine.

Dinner at S.K.Y. (S.K.Y. restaurant, Pilsen, Chicago IL): This shows off more immediacy than I expect from Ramonet, but with it still dialed in along with tones of buttered bread, peaches, red apples, quince, pears, yellow flowers, jasmine, and mineral tones. The Medium bodied feel is plush, but refined with tart, medium+ acidity. This feels like it needs a few more years to shed some baby fat. But, this is a lot of fun right now and well worth popping.

Atypically ripe for Ramonet, but well supported with fresh herb and lemon curd character. Certainly good concentration for Village level wine, but slightly less energy than I expected from Ramonet, although the 375ml format may be a major contributor.

I am surprised to see the conservative ratings. This is so young and already so expressive. Really elegant, smooth, round, subtle butter cream touch and very distinctive lemon and white petals. Matched perfectly with Bresse chicken in a really gorgeous and generous gravy made from the stock of the chicken. I wish these would be less expensive and more available. I really love it!

This is really lovely. There's a gentle, sun kissed quality of the vintage but it is also really bright and back-lit with fine, minerally acidity. White peach fruit is perfectly ripe. There's a suggestion of white flowers and a touch of spearmint. It has lovely shape in the mouth and finishes with good cut.

Not a big fan. Round blowsy with no cut. I think a 2018 problem in general

Tasted pretty “2018” on opening with richness over acidity.

From 375 ml. Very ripe but simultaneously clearly bright and minerally. Great density and length for village level wine.

Reduced. With air, citrus, pair, struck match – not particularly solar at all. Good mineral underpinning. Good stuff.

Very young, clear and pure fruit with good acidity and freshness. No signs of a warm vintage, good minerality, citrus notes. Needs time to unfold.

Well made, but also a bit underwhelming. Lacking complexity found in other white 2018s.
