Consumed across 4 nights -- and best on the last night. What an awesome wine. Rich, waxy oak with well-integrated vanilla, an almost sherry-like dried fruit (mostly apricot), and a hint of clove.
Grateful I've got 2 more bottles to sit on and see how they evolve.

Elegant vanilla oak with dried apricot/tropical fruit on the nose. Great high tasty acidity, still quite fruity with lemon and tropical fruit on the taste. Medium bodied, medium-long finish. I like this!

My first try of the Tondonia Reserva Bianco. Wow. What a wine.
It needs a little air, but then it’s a constantly shifting taste profile. Toasted marshmallow, honeysuckle, dried candied apricot, peaches, dried fig, roasted nuts. Lightning acidity, slightly waxy texture. Long finish with some saltiness and white fig.
It was best on the first and last two nights. The second night it went through this weird phase where it smelled and tasted like tequila.
Worth every penny of the release price, but secondary market prices are bonkers.
Drank at House of Prime Rib. Went into this not sure what to expect. Came off pretty tart initially, with tart orchard and tropical fruit. Notes of cultured dairy came in afterwards, reminiscent of cultured butter, medium-sharp cheese, and sour cream. Alongside unripened yellow peaches and canary melon, touch of honey, this was quite the complicated wine. Hard to judge alongside food, but this lived up to the hype.

Nose: Pineapple, coconut, cedar, sandalwood, fino/manzanilla sherry. Palate: Lemon, pineapple, toasted coconut, spearmint. High acidity, medium+ body, some fine tannins from the oak. Wow, complex and unique. I have two more bottles that I'm going to sit on for a good, long while. Feels young and just a bit rough around the edges. I'll probably wait another 3 to 5 years before opening the next one. Merry Christmas.
Day 2: I start to pick up on flavors of roasted almonds and oil-cured olives; the sherry notes coming out more.
Day 3: Oak much more subdued. I feel like day 1 was more about the pineapple and lemon, and day 2 had more of the oxidative notes come to the fore. Day 3 really is a marriage between the two. Bumping my score up slightly.
Days 4 and 5: Holding steady as it was on day 3.

Double decanted in the morning, and drunk from absurd beakers in Tayyabs. Colour is deep yellow but not as far as some. On the nose, sherried, some high toned fruit notes. On the palate - waxy, lovely line to it, the oak is there but the acid keeps it under control. Clearly a long life ahead of it but drinking jolly nicely now. I shan’t say “I’ll wait a while before taking my next bottle out of storage” because that’s just tempting fate but…if you have a few, drink one now, but no rush at all.
Seemed readier than a recent 2014 Gravonia.

Boston Wine + Poker, Salem, Mass.: Tasted blind. Very light color, but with a floral, spicy (cinnamon) intensity. High acid. Some bitterness. Fascinating now but a long way from maturity. I could tell from the shape of the bottle that it wasn't a German GG, so I thought it might be a high-quality Austrian wine.

Golden robe, oxidative nose. Notes of vanilla, mushroom, baked yellow plum, honeysuckle. It smells Sauternes-esque but mouth is dry with caramel, lemon pie, starfruit flavors giving a nicely complex mouth. Low-ish acidity, medium+ zesty finish.

Bought at Core by Clare Smyth. Perfectly kept bottle. Very intense yellow color. Nose is deep and expressive, with lemon, hazelnuts, and slight buttery notes. Medium acidity, minerally, with very interesting lemony flavors complemented by slightly nutty notes of hazelnuts. Full bodied, slightly tannic even, with a long ending that shows vanilla and aromatic wood notes. A special white that complemented perfectly a range of dishes. Highly recommended.

First time trying the LdH Blanco! Amazing golden colour. Drank over three hours. Initially had a very complex nose with notes of lemon juice, orange zest, honey, bruised apple, and American oak. Became more honeyed and floral with air. The palate showed high acidity with an intense lemon juice/pith, green apple flavor and great minerality. With air the palate developed notes of stewed apple, honey, caramel, and baking spices. Great length. Amazing now but, will likely improve with a couple more years of cellaring.

First try of a Tondonia Blanco. I’ve been aware of this wine for a long time, but just never got round to trying it, so it felt like quite a special moment to finally get a taste. Decanted for 2 hours and also let it warm up in that time. It was probably still a bit too cold for the first glass though, which was honestly a bit underwhelming. Improved as time went on though, and the third and last glass was really enjoyable. Quite a sweet and floral nose, with a more savoury palate. Long finish. Hard one to score as I’ve got no reference point, but taking value into account, I think it’s a 92 today. Could be higher with more age.

By the bottle at the HUB at Weston Playhouse in Weston, VT. Needed a lot of time to open up; would have liked to have decanted it but it needed to chill a bit. Eventually though the nose is really complex: caramel apple, raw cashews, lemon juice, hints of green tropical fruits and brioche. Palate is full but not flabby, great acidity, bordering on searing, hint of skin-contact notes with more lemon juice, almonds, super grippy finish. Killer with a roasted corn soup and clams and tomatoes.

Poured at cellar temp. Immediately classic LdH blanco… a lovely waxy quality, whiff of exotic fruit, structure and acidity to keep it all together. Surprisingly good now but would wait 3-5 for further development, still a bit primary.
Poured at cellar temp (55F). Light golden green/yellow. Nose is citrusty and spicy, tobacco and a hint of oak. Almost like a cologne I used to wear (Terre d'Hermes). Wife gets a crayon/waxy note on the nose also. Slightly oxidative note on the nose as it warms (like a light Jura non-ouille). Palate has high acid, but a large full mouthfeel. Flavors are sweet lemon cream and a notable savory/herbal/sage note as it sits in the glass longer. After hour two some white flowers. Bitter note on the end and finishes very dry. No lasting creaminess on the palate. Acid really makes your mouth water for a long time after drinking, but I would not call it out of balance at all. This is fantastic white wine of the world and my first LdH Blanco. Will absolutely seek out more.
The som at Bazaar Meats LV recommended it to go with the Jamon Iberico app and did she nail it! Great complimentary flavors and perfect acidity to cut the delicious fat in the Jamon.

First Tondonia Blanco in a long time and I have to ask myself “why?” Nose of green apples, wax, pollen, minerals, honeysuckle, quince or kumquats or something. Palate is high acid with some fullness , minerals, tart green apple, this really surges into the finish which is exceptional with tart green apple and some other tart fruit, florals and minerals. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16.5/20.
Day 21: this is better now than it was on day 1. Not a shock really given the oxidative style. Nutty and salty with pollen and florals. Green apple. Really perfumed with great acid and grip.

Another outstanding bottle with years of aging potential.

PnP. Dull golden. Almost hazy. Nose is caramelized lemon, bourbon, honey, touch of bitterness (like an almond). On the palate, tart with a rolling acidity, but savory...not bright acidity. Honey and lemon. Like a lemon bar dessert. Overall elegant and a good value, but will probably improve with a few more years. Excited to see where this goes.

Opened and decanted. Light tulip color. Some initial earthiness and Savennières-like funk on the nose, but then scents of an herbal infusion (ginseng?) and tropical fruit. Medium bodied, tremendously enveloping glycerine feel. Dynamic, layered, complex flavors that included vanillin, guava, botanicals, and lime with the acidity arriving late. Pretty much a wine unto itself without other convenient reference points. Spend time with it, as it is fascinating to watch it unfold over hours.

Ravgul farge. På nesen traktkantarell, honning, aprikos. Heftig syre, ganske lett i munn. Går mer mot mandler og vanilje/toast etterhvert. Kompleks med mange lag, utvikler seg i glasset. Tipper den er kanon til sjømat, ble litt tørr og salt til ribbe. Himla godt!
