13.6% alcohol. Bright cherry color. This is just smoking right now. Gorgeous nose of red cherry, earth, a hint of floral and mushroom, and good baking spice. In the mouth, vibrant and dazzling, with tangy cherry fruit, wonderful, expanding layers of complexity, and bright acidity. A long finish. Beautiful. A-/A

13.6% alcohol. Light red cherry color. Phenomenal bouquet of red cherry, baking spice, earth, a light floral streak, and minerals. In the mouth, vibrant, pure, and focused. This is the picture of balance and elegance, matched with persistent red cherry fruit. The complex earth and spice notes are in the background but more elegant than subtle. Good acidity. A smooth, refined finish. This plain rocks. A-/A

- Violet color and aromas of cherry, strawberry jam and black currant. It's balanced and has flavours of tobacco, cherry, raspberry and strawberry jam with a medium body with a medium finish.

Another very good bottle. Bright red fruits, citrus zest and a high-tone "fattiness" that you find in some Russian River Pinots. Wonderful with roast chicken.

13.6% alcohol. In a gorgeous place right now. Light red color. Stunning, expansive nose of red cherry, minerals, flowers, and a hint of baking spice. In the mouth, precise and pure, a harmonious and beautiful expression of Pinot Noir fruit, showing red cherry, stony minerality, and light floral and spice notes, along with a hint of apple skin. The finish is long and juicy. This has spread out and become texturally very refined and velvety over the past 18 months. It will drink will for the next 3-5 years easily. A beauty. A-/A

Slightly cloudy, medium ruby color. The lovely nose is an enticing blend of cranberry, red cherry, and smoke with a wisp of soy. The palate is refreshing with tart cranberry and cherry. Structurally, there is zippy acidity in this light-bodied wine and no astringency. The finish is clean and crisp without and heaviness. Overall, this is the a well-made wine with clean fruit and a good finish.

It's been over a year since my last bottle and I've seen a lot of improvement in this wine - the last two bottles of it I had were a little excessive in acidity, and a little out of balance IMO-- but this bottle has toned down quite a bit, and the aromatics of the wine (in terms of sheer "volume") was one of the most explosive I had this year. Aromas of bright red fruits (cranberry, cherry, pomegranate), orange zest, and a hint of baking spices just expand out the glass and fill the room. On the palate, still a very high-toned wine with fresh acidity more in check. Definitely could use a little decanting, but enjoyable over two nights. This wine is headed in the right direction and another year of slumber should really hit the sweet spot for it.

a lovely small scale RRV pinot, nose of fruit and spice, and red fruit with a touch of pepper and allspice on the palate. Moderate length with a clean well-balanced finish. It had the misfortune of being drunk alongside the larger scale Moshin RRV Pinot, which overwhelmed it although the two were similar in many respects. I liked both, and would be happy to find another bottle for the cellar and keep it for another year or three.

13.6% alcohol. Such a beautifully aromatic wine. It is really entering a nice drinking window now. Light cherry color. Terrific bouquet of black cherry, spice, and minerals. On the palate, a laser of cherry fruit, minerals, spice, and acidity cuts a juicy swath across the tongue. Long, slightly tart finish. Great stuff. No better bargain Pinot out there! A-

13.6% alcohol. Still my go-to QPR Pinot. This is as good as it gets because it is so serious. Still on the young side, but awfully good already. Cherry red color. Lovely bouquet of red cherry, black cherry, baking spice, and flowers. So alive and refreshing in the mouth, with a laser-like beam of beautifully concentrated cherry fruit, baking spice, and floral notes. Gorgeous RRV expression. Excellent zing of acidity. Solid finish, which reemphasizes the fruit. The bouquet kept you coming back, though. Another wine you could just swirl and sniff. A-

Soy and pine needles with tart, mouthwatering cherry. This is nothing like the overblown pinots dominating the Cali landscape these days, not typical by any means. If you're seeking a Cali pinot with character and soul, check this out.

One of 16 wines tasted at our Joseph Swan & Holdredge OL at La Vista. Tart red cherries and forest floor, definitely more acidic than the other JS pinots on the table. The CdT is always a crowd pleaser.

A nice wine. Very interesting nose of spice, ripe red cherries, and some vanilla. On the palate, very tart cherries (think sweet tart) and a touch of heat. Finish is a bit clipped. A good food wine.

A few months ago I had the 2004 CdT and I was disappointed as it seemed to be way out of balance on the acidity and tartness. The 2005 was much better. Still young at this stage and the acidity is still relatively high compared to other Sonoma pinots but it is managable this time and does help when pairing this wine with a lot of foods.

Popped & poured at dinner time. The nose was amazing!! Elements of red/black cherries, sweet floral, & wet stones were present and I couldn't get my nose off the glass. I kept swirling & sniffing, swirling & sniffing... but when I took a sip, it was somewhat disappointing... I guess I was expecting more on the palate, but the palate didn't match up to the nose... Tart cherries, mixed with cola, spice, and heat on the end... and... there were loads of acidity, to the point that I had to find something to eat to balance the acid. The finish was somewhat short. I don't have much experience with JS's, especially Pinots, but I heard that JS's takes a fews years to integrate. This is definitely a baby. Considering the price, this is one great QPR to be had for everyday drinking, and I'm betting on the wine to mature into its true character in a few years time. I will purchase more of these to cellar, but won't touch them for at least 4 years.

Initially this was an elegant pinot with a nice core of fruit. However, the finish wasn't too long. Simple pinot. After an hour, the sweet fruit turned tart.
